El Rincon Mexican Restaurant, Pflugerville TX

Had not been to El Rincon in a while prob since pre COVID and when another local place did not wait on us we decided to come back here and we loved it! Forgot this was such a great place in our area for Texmex. Had beers and beef fajita nachos and puffy taco plate and it was fresh and delicious and came out really quick! Friendly service and they had a DJ Friday dinner time. Can’t wait to come back and try more things, great prices as well.

I visited this restaurant 16 years ago and hated it and never set foot in it again until today. I was craving tacos, and my hubby joking said, "There's always El Rain-cone! " Because he knows how much I bad talked it over the years. Well, to call his bluff, I agreed to give it another try for dinner tonight and... Y'all!? ! Not only was the service good, the food was GREAT! The beef fajitas were tender and well seasoned, the flour tortillas were homemade and hot/fresh, the ices tea was just the right amount of sweet and the puffy tacos were delicious (although the shell was more of a gordita texture than a traditional puffy taco, in my opinion but still good)! El Rincon, you've redeemed yourselves! I'm glad I came back for a second try.

We stopped by Saturday night about 45 minutes before dinner stopped being served. Waiter was awful. It took about 15 minutes to take the order. When the food came out, he messed up my order but got my wife's correct. When I kindly told him it was completely different than what the menu says, he argued & challenged me to show him in the menu what I had pointed at. He backed down, apologized but came back later to say the kitchen was already shut down. I picked off of my wife's plate and we waited another 20 minutes or so after she finished for him to return with the ticket. This place was great 15 years ago. It's gone downhill in service & quality, not to mention it needs a major update inside.

I really don't have the energy to write something up that will explain what I experienced.

Took forever for a server to help us, 10 min plus. When they finally realized no one had helped me, a young lady took our order. They tried, but in my opinion, they failed. The food was ok, the drink was fantastic, and I would recommend drinks only or if you don't mind waiting for food. Ladies were very pleasant. Seems like a Manager issue.

It's so nice to have a real Mexican restaurant so close by! Amazing food and the service is always good. Best place in town!

My new, OLD hangout! Great food, great staff, one of the most INCREDIBLY tasty verde sauces I've ever had in my life! I remember this joint from my younger days. WOW, talk about consistency! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, worth the wait!

Best huevos con machacado (eggs with beef jerky Monterrey style) in the area, at a reasonable price.

If you go on a weekend, expect to wait for a table because this place is popular, and has been serving good dishes since ancient times (1990s) for most restaurants in the Austin area. Service is prompt and the same meseras seem to cover the same areas, so they will recognize you if you go often enough.

My dad had ordered huevos estrellados on his order and the waiter who attended him gave him huevos rancheros and he said he didn’t ask for that and she was being stubborn that he did and she didn’t accept her mistake so instead my dad had to order them again.

All employees were good especially the young hispanic lady that I think was named Valerie? Not sure she had very black hair and very sweet. She may have been a hostess? Probably the first Hostess if she was that I ever tipped for such good customer service. Will be back!

Food was great, although I was the server was more attentive, especially since there weren't that many customers. It was very loud, which was expected since it's a bar and grill, but it's also hot in there. Second time I've been there, months apart, and it seems like there is no A/C.

I really wish I liked this place as much as other people do, but it’s a let down every single time. I’ve been here 3 times and every time it gets worse and worse. The first time we didn’t even have a waitress- the manager ended up waiting on us. The second time, we got a waiter who appeared to not want to be there and hardly came to check on us at all. The third time, yet again had terrible service. I had one drink at my table but since service was taking so long I paid my bill and tried sitting at the bar to which I got denied. I asked her why and she said “because I said so. ” Sounds like an answer my mom used to give me! On top of the poor service, I have NEVER been impressed with the food, it always tastes as though it just came out of the microwave. Save your time and money and go somewhere else!

The food is amongst the best tex-mex in the entire area. We had fajitas for 2 it was like fajitas for 4.
Margaritas were pretty good as well

They sat me at a table but they didn't attend me because the waiters were talking; others on the cell phone and they did not have time I asked to speak to the manager and he was not there thanks for his bad service

Food was pretty good. The tamale and tacos were excellent. The plate was very hot. Food was fresh. The guacamole was not the tastiest though. Not sure why. It was fresh, just not very good. Sweet tea was really good though. Everything was not bad overall. I'd go back. Recommended.

Fajitas were served with only a few tortillas for a whole family. And the condoms did not arrive until. Much later. All food portions appeared to be carefully measured

Barbacoa was overly fatty & served cold. Flour tortillas were really good. Chips & salsa (red & green) we’re both good. No coke products, only Pepsi.

Horrible food and even worse service! It took an HOUR to get our lunch, and I couldn’t even eat my chimichanga. It was smothered in a nasty cheese sauce and soggy and just gross. The Caldo de res was meh (couldn’t even finish it), and the churros had an overwhelming flavor that was really bad. I would definitely NOT recommend wasting your time and money here!

The food was not what I thought tex mex would be, had to send food back, to cheesey, will not go back.
