As a licensed clinician, I was initially excited to have another MAT program in town supporting individuals with substance use disorders, but am appalled by this company's continued violations of the Texas Administrative Code for failing to provide appropriate continuity of care.

Their clinical director was treated poorly by management and after several frustrated months gave notice, explicating that they would utilize their notice period to facilitate closure with their current case load, making sure all clients received appropriate resources for their mental health needs. Instead they were told to leave the same day, and were not allowed any closure with their clients.

That only left their recovery coach on premise, who was summarily laid off the week before Christmas. They were told that the company was engaging in structural reorganization. The recovery coach had clients scheduled the very same day, but had their phone and computer shut down immediately after their termination meeting. They weren't allowed to provided any closure and resources to the clients they were serving, even though they were not being let go for cause, or choosing to leave on their own accord.

THIS IS CLIENT ABANDONMENT.

And it happened right during the holiday season, which is a stressful time for everyone.let alone people newly in recovery.

Several members of the recovery coach's caseload searched for them on social media to ask for assistance because there was no staff left except the clinic prescriber who was not providing any therapeutic or coaching support. Many were panicked and in danger of relapse.

When I reached out to the head of corporate HR to discuss this failure of appropriate clinical care, they did not return my call. It is unfortunate that they are not interested in improving their standard operating procedures to ensure client safety and health.

Because of these issues and the organizations failure to correct their policies, I cannot in good conscience recommend services at Eleanor Health to anyone. And now that prescribers are no longer required to complete the DEA's X waiver program to allow them to prescribe Suboxone to more than 30 people, expanding service availability throughout the US, there is absolutely no reason to make an appointment with Eleanor Health.

And if you were one of the clients hurt by their chaotic and uncaring decision-making processes, I would recommend making a facilities complaint to the Health and Human Services Commission as well as a complaint to their certifying body, th3e Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities. Organizations such as this will continue to take advantage of the individuals who most need our care and support.

Their decisions regarding client care had nothing to do with lack of funding. In fact, the organization continues to collect investor funding (50 million in 2022 alone) while reporting profits higher than most of their competitors in the field (check out their financials on GrowJo if you want to see the numbers and comps), and added several executives to their C-suite at the same time that they laid off the employees who were actually providing clinical services (and being paid the least).

I've been in the field long enough that I'm used to seeing shady practices but this company is one of the worst.
