Element San Antonio Riverwalk

I enjoyed almost everything about my stay. This is a 3 star hotel on paper but it's definitely a premium one for its class, with tons of little added touches that make for a distinctive experience. The breakfast is well above typical free hotel breakfast fare, with fresh cut fruit, a hot breakfast item made to order each day, and nice things you usually don't see like maple almond butter. There is a daily evening reception with a charcuterie and comped drink coupons. The rooms have kitchenettes with included utensils. I had a sweeping view of the city which was incredible to see each day I was there. The location is ideal, right next to the riverwalk and only a few blocks away from the Alamo and Historic Market Square. The hotel has a solid gym, a laundromat, and a lovely rooftop bar. The staff members are friendly and accommodating.

The only downside is that the rooms are not noise isolating. There is a public plaza right outside the hotel (on a side note- definitely worth checking out for the cathedral at least), and there were music groups performing there at night around 9PM. I could hear them clearly despite being in my room; I could also hear every step and movement from my neighbors' rooms. Not a huge deal breaker for me since I use earplugs, but it could be for some people.

Our stay at this hotel was pleasant. The staff, from the moment we pulled up, were very friendly and attentive. They made plenty of recommendations based on our visit. The rooms are well cleaned, comfortable and with nice views of the city. The hotel is a short walk (less than a block) to one of the best parts of the river walk. Their rooftop bar is one of the better hotel bars i have experienced. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Location great. Everything else absolutely horrific. From parking to the overall service and here is why

Make a reservation online, need to change it. Oh but can't change it because their phone number doesn't work. First problem.

Get there, they offer to change the reservation and I was told it would be handled before we leave. Second problem. It didn't get changed still, as we were checking out. They said they would change it and I would see a refund in 7 days. Third problem. Never saw the refund. Call Marriott instead, they said it would be handled and that I would see a refund in 7 days. Fourth problem. No refund again. Call back to Marriott they inform me case was closed. Fifth problem. They tell me to call Element which AGAIN the phone number doesn't work. Call back to Marriott and they give me a different number.

Actually had a great experience with Andre over the phone and told me I would get a call that day. Which was the only truthful thing so far.

Here is where it's bad, when Renee, a manager calls and first thing tells me I booked incorrectly online. I did, I knew that, but I couldn't reach them to correct it prior to arrival and then I had 2 different people say it would be corrected by 7 days. And then another Marriott employee tell me the same thing.

So see I accepted that I made the reservation incorrectly. I tried all the steps to correct it with no resolve, but the worst part was all the employees telling me it WOULD be corrected immediately or within 7 days at the check out.

If the manager wants to push on me how I'm wrong, plus not accept that his employees made the wrong accusations, that is on the hotel.

Then to have the manager proceed to tell me that my brother, who gave me the discount told me wrong. I mean who is this guy?

The best thing would have been to acknowledge the steps I took to correct my mistake when scheduling and that I looked to resolve it immediately. As well as acknowledge that all your employees gave me the incorrect information (along with Marriott themselves).

Eachbperson in the process gave me the wrong information to resolve this and here we are a month later still trying to come to a solution.

I hope you do better for the next person Element. At least accept that you have mislead someone. Hard to swallow when I finally take a wonderful trip with my husband for the first time in over 10 years after serious illness.

So our room was not ready for check-in at 3pm, we didn't get our room until an hour and a half later. We were not the only ones we heard them telling their rooms were not ready yet. The room was super nice and absolutely beautiful, however there is no noise reducing in the walls at all. We heard everything from every room around us all night and made it very hard to sleep. The parking situation is horrible and very expensive at the hotel and the public lot down the street, but if you go to the parking garage right behind the hotel it was $10 for 24 hours.

We stayed for only two days only we couldn't handle it anymore the elevator took forever and not only that you can't go outside at night because is full of homeless and for valet dont trust someone got in our carr and stole some of our stuff and they just did a claim but thats about it worse hotel ever!

If I could I would leave them -5 stars. This hotel is discriminating based on age and will not let you stay there after they gladly took your money. Oh and they refused to refund the money. Isn’t this robbery or stealing? You don’t provide services but take someone’s money? The staff was rude and their costumer service was absolutely wrong in every way. Don’t book and waste your money.

Work trip. Nice hotel with quaint rooms. Lots of extras to make your stay comfy. Great meeting spaces for smaller groups. 50 or less. Centrally located near the downtown core and the riverwalk.

Location is great, and the river walk is minutes away. Parking is right next door ($30) a night but everything is so close it was worth it. Breakfast had a great variety (no meat but it’s ok with me, please add bacon in the future).

Stayed for 4 days and most of the experience was pretty good. The staff was great but two issues did come up. We paid for a big suite because of how long we were staying and since there were 4 of us the first night we got a room that was a bit smaller than we had seen when booking. The next day we had to move with all our bags to the bigger room which was a bit of an inconvenience. Also although most of the breakfast was good I was a bit disappointed on the weekend days because there was no meat served the food is more catered to vegan/vegetarian eatars than people like me that love to eat meat in my breakfast. Other than that the stay was not bad.

Hotel is nice, clean and centrally located. Breakfast is fresh made and very good! Only issue we had was that it took 40 minutes to get car from valet; no sense of urgency from the valets. When we brought car back that evening, valets didn't even come to car to get keys, they just stood around. For what we're paying for valet, the service was unacceptable.

HORRIBLE! The hotel is dirty and you have to listen to your neighbor’s dishwasher running all night. Awful experience!

I stay here for a doctors appointment. I had in San Antonio. This place is fairly new so everything in the room was nice and clean. The front desk was very kind. The valet was very cool. They have breakfast. What I like most is they cook your breakfast when you walk in. They have all juices. Different milks. Coffee. Bagels, blueberry, muffins, English muffins, cream cheese, butter. This was a very at home stay. The best thing, is it was reasonable pricing. You should book here

This place a scam I have traveled to some of the top hotels in world this place security deposit be more then u pay for the room it’s ridiculous also not to mention they have no pool and u want to pay more money to get a pass somewhere else it’s crazy!

I should have went somewhere else. Someone pull the fire alarm around 1 in the morning, making everyone evaluate. The staff did not handle the situation well. So not worth the$300.00 for the night.
