Can’t rate this place highly enough! The food was fantastic, really flavourful dishes. The ambience was warm and friendly and the service was amazing. They did everything they could to make a really special night for me and my friends.

Soooo goooooddd. They made my friend’s birthday special with a hand drawn birthday card, server was knowledgeable and charismatic, food came out quick and was delicious. The spam with the chili oil fried egg was a flavor explosion and the breakfast sando was tasty and well-balanced. Espresso martini is one of the best I’ve had!

The smaller bites were better than the larger dishes. Really enjoyed the mushrooms and scallops. The ramen risotto was a little too rich and the “wagyu” steak was hardly worth it. Servers were great, but still felt like it was not worth the price.

I really wanted to like this place. It's adorable inside and the servers were so kind and helpful. Drinks were pretty good. Food was lacking. The pb and j/waffle was almost inedible. The shakshuka was extremely mid. My eggs benny was pretty good. But in all honesty, I'd rather go down the street to Phoebes for better food at half the price.

I have start off by saying this is hard because we've really been looking forward to getting in to dine at Elementary, this new place that's becoming very popular. The service was excellent, the atmosphere was okay, but honestly the food just wasn't very good. The cocktails we enjoyed immensely they were creative not too sweet had differentiations of flavors so we truly did enjoy the first part as we got started. But then we got to the food our first bite was the Banh Mi eclair which honestly was dull, not well-balanced and just not a great bite. The second bite we had were the oyster mushrooms which were a little chewy and quite honestly just didn't have a lot of flavor. Next we had our veggie dish which was the turnips this ditch was really close it was probably the best thing we had but it still was very one note. Then we went on to the crudo which has a guillo sauce and apples it was interesting but not very good and the fish is completely lost in the dish. Last but not least was the pasta dish with the huge cheese stick in the middle of pasta. I'm not really sure how this dish is supposed to work but it was clunky and just not very delicious. We opted to skip dessert and heading out for some French Fries.
Regardless of how dinner was and the little bits of disappointment the best part of the night was getting to sit across the table from the one I love, staring into her eyes smiling, playfully giggling at things no one else gets, holding hands, and sweet nothings only we comprehend. Thank you my love for making this reservation it was fun and perfect with you as always. I love you too the moon abd back.and 5 more steps. Thank you for being my sun, my path, my center. Kiss kiss

First, hats off to our lovely waiter, Ben, who was kind, upbeat, and helpful. Five stars to him. Leaving a review because the dish we were recommended and heard amazing things about, the ramen risotto, was so overly salted it was inedible. The dish truly needed a sodium WARNING upon consumption. The rice was salty, the pork was salty, the mushrooms, etc. - there was no relief. Truly no idea how that got past the kitchen. We considered it an utter waste of $35. The baked Brussels sprouts salad was festive and delicious and burrata solid, but lord, I could not return based on the trauma that was the salty ramen risotto mess. I will miss the kitschy-cute design and Ben.but that's about it.

Good food and good service. Food was interesting and quite tasty. The Oysters, Ramen Risotto, Al Pasto Tortellini, and the butter leaf salad were all wonderful and would order again. Drinks were good and more on the unique side but like most places around town now, the are not cheap. Service we attentive without being over barring. The place is more like a cafe setting for seating with the tables close together and they are putting a lot of people in a relatively small place so gets a bit loud but not to the point where everyone is yelling to hear each other.
This place reminds me of an Odd Duck style restaurant in the food preparations, albeit with slightly larger plates. Definitely would recommend

Phenomenal first visit. I absolutely love the neighborhood vibe inside, with upbeat happy music and intimate lighting.
Food was on point. Oyster shooter was tasty yet steep at $6 a pop. Lion's Mane mushroom is a dish I'll be back to have again. The same is true for the mussels in red curry eel sauce, absolutely fantastic. I also loved the Baked Salad. Service was friendly and efficient, definitely a noticeable team approach, with the amazing bartender delivering some perfect cocktails to our table himself.
The chef here has a creative vision that is evident in some very original and memorable dishes. What a fantastic addition to the South Lamar dining scene.

This place is really good. We went here for my birthday last night and it was fabulous. The lions main appetizer was incredible (I’d order 2 next time), the oysters were great, & scallops were tooooo die for! Great crudo! The pasta we had Pasta La Vista was amazing as well. Very different. All in all: will go back!

Ps the cookies and milk were delicious!

An aesthetic addition to the S Lamar area with very random and unique flavor combinations!
Great quality of food, and a menu you really have to read to pick up on all the nuance. The baked salad was warming and filling. I got the ramen risotto as my main - and I should have listened when she said it was salty. It was good, with such diversity in the dish but I would have loved half the salt. I want to go back to try other dishes bc they are so unique and can't be found anywhere else!

Elementary was a wonderful surprise for our dining experience last night. Everything that came out of the kitchen was delicious, seasoned perfectly and full of umami flavor. My favorites of the evening were the Lions mane mushroom appetizer and the mussels entree. The mushrooms had a wonderful crispiness to them and were not oily at all. The mussels were served in the BEST broth I have ever had. Plus the toasted sourdough bread was so chewy and delicious we had to get more to not let the broth go to waste. Our server suggested the Panna Cotta for dessert. It was not too sweet and had a nice bouncy texture accompanied by delicious crispy toasted coconut. The bartender was a magician of his craft. The drinks were well balanced, refreshing and strong but you are not over powered by the alcohol taste. The interior is a bit loud and slightly cramped in some places, but even this should not be a deterrent because the food is so delicious. Congratulations Alan, well done. We will definitely come back.

I highly recommend asking for Dre as your server. He was the best! The restaurant is super cute, theme is on point. But the real stunner is the menu. Everything is super specially curated to make sure this is not your everyday entree. I will be coming back to try everything!

I ordered: bell pepper cocktail, burrata toast, ramen risotto, baked salad, pasta pa vista, cinna toast cocktail, and miso butter cookies. ALL WERE SPECTACULAR!

We had a lovely birthday celebration dinner at elementary. Every item that was served to us was impeccable. Our waitress Victoria was adorable, informative, and friendly. We had a lovely evening and can’t wait to go back.

Vibes? Immaculate. Interior? Adorable. Cocktail bar proximity? Couldn’t be beat.

Being so honest and vulnerable, the food itself is just not amazing. Every dish I tried was over priced, bizarrely sized, and incorrectly seasoned. We ordered a couple of apps, sides, and entrees and each one just got progressively weirder. The ramen risotto comes to mind as I’m writing this - much too salty, much too expensive, weird plate size. The drinks were awesome tho and my friends and I had fun just being here!

This place is still p new so I fully trust they’ll work out the kinks <3 the vibes are perfect for a little drink and snack moment, but I’d hold off on doing a full on dinner or date night here!

Fun place with imaginative food! This place is getting a lot of low reviews - but if you enjoy creativity in food you’ll appreciate this place!

Really loved our eve here. Dre was so incredibly welcoming and his recommendations were spot on! The prawns were our favorite dish, but everything on the menu is worth trying.

Our experience was not at all elementary! The combinations of flavor, complexity of each dish is mind blowing! We loved it! Victoria was our guide and she did not disappoint; great recommendations and impeccable service. So dam good! Run don’t walk to this one!
