Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Amarillo Airport

Booked through Booking that has this hotel as pet friendly and according to their website pets are free. Drove 6 hours to be told by the front desk there's a $75 fee! She said there's nothing she can do about it. I canceled our reservation and went to the Holiday Inn a block away. They only charge a $25 pet fee and the room was way cheaper!

Friendly staff. My room (220) was very clean. A bit noisy due to the highway nearby though. But most hotels in Amarillo would have the same issue. Decent breakfast too

The location is awesome for the business trip I'm on. It's also real close to the airport as well.

The shower water was warm, not hot, even though we turned it to it's hottest point on the faucet. The sink water was very hot.

We've stayed at this Fairfield many times over the past few years along with our small dog. The hotel is in a great location with gas and food nearby.across the street in fact. The property has lush, green grass all around the perimeter as well as a pet station with bags. Our dog absolutely loves trotting around this property. The parking lot is well-lit and the parking areas for adjacent businesses have plenty of lighting as well so I felt quite safe walking around with my pup late at night or early morning. The local police also do regular patrols through the lot and I've never seen any suspicious persons wandering around. We've always had a peaceful, quiet night's rest at this location and our pup loves it too. The room is spacious with comfortable beds and has a large screen TV, fridge, and spacious movable desk if you want to work in the room. The bathroom offers plenty of lighting and ample counter space as well as a hair dryer.
There was a problem with the thermostat in the room and the maintenance man showed up quickly to provide a workaround so we could have AC since we arrived on a rather warm day. The overhead light in the hallway to the room did not function which was not an issue. The bathroom door wouldn't close fully. Later in the evening we discovered that the shower leaked a large amount of water on the bathroom floor because the shower curtain is installed way too high and doesn't provide a proper 'seal' at the edge of the tub. We mopped up the water with towels and reported the issue to the front desk. They kindly offered to move us to another room but since we'd already unloaded the car we opted not to move. We got several more towels to mop up the floor but couldn't really use the shower after that. This has undoubtedly happened to previous guests in this room, and this may have contributed to the issue with the bathroom door not closing.
The door to the room as well as the stairwells slam loudly which disturbs other guests if it's allowed to close automatically. In addition, one of the two elevators was not functioning and the other was very slow so unloading the luggage to an upper floor was somewhat time-consuming. This was also reported to the front desk.
We never encountered this many maintenance issues when staying at this hotel on previous occasions. Giving a rating of 3 for all these issues, otherwise it would have been 5. Hopefully all of these items will be fixed before our next visit. We do like this hotel which provides a comfortable stay for our dog as well, and we will certainly come back the next time we stay in Amarillo.

Service was excellent. Everyone I came into was very positive and professional. Location was okay. Other than a BW next door or Dennys across busy road food was a distance away if you don't have a car.
The room was the issue. Three different light bulbs were out, sink and bathroom had a mildew smell, and the main issue was the upper door hinge was sprung and you really had to lean on door to open and lift up to close to get it to lock. Since it was a weekend I dealt with it and told them not to have mx come in.

It's a nice and quiet hotel with very friendly staff. It was a pleasure for me to stay here.

Nothing bad to say. It was quiet and clean. The staff was polite. I was there from 9pm to 4am for business so didn't get to see much!

Friendly and helpful staff and the place was very clean, the only negative was the shower leaked but it worked and the water was hot.

We had to be at the airport at 6am. Our concierge had a sack with an orange, apple and cookies for us since there was nowhere to go between there and the airport. That's what I call, going above and beyond ️

DO NOT STAY THERE! 3rd floor has fleas. I stayed in room 322 last weekend. I brought it to the front desk’s attention and they apologized and changed my room. The new room 324 only had 1 flea this time. I killed it and decided to stay in that room.
Fleas are gross and I thought I’d get points or a free stay. The front desk ladies didn’t really care about me having to deal with fleas. I showed them my legs and the fleas still crawling up and down but they didn’t really care. They were not rude but very detached from my problem. Not good customer service to say the least.

The staff was wonderful and location was good. The bed was a little dated and trouble with tv. The breakfast was nice and wifi worked well. Not sure if cheaper than Fairfield 10 minutes down the street. That one is much newer. However we were happy with our stay
