I favor Fairfield in general, but when I went to check-in after making a reservation on the Marriott app, they had no rooms available for me. The clerk said this is a common occurrence. As Seinfeld would say, "That's why I made a reservation! " Anyway, I went to the other Fairfield in town.

Front desk personnel was very attentive and he was so incredibly kind! Room was very clean, beds very comfortable too!

A nice hotel suffering from inattention.

Pros:
- Newer design, with warmer colors than some places.
- Clean (ish) room and public areas.
- Friendly front desk staff, on both check-in and check-out.
- AC/Heat unit did a good job of holding the temperature.
- In-room microwave and small fridge.

Cons:
- Front desk still behind plastic! (Understand why, but so many places have gotten rid of that barrier you'd think Marriott would do it, too. Really lose that personal feel.)
- Bath was moderately clean. Notably the counter had rings and other marks on it I thought might be permanent, but no, they wiped up quickly. Housekeeping fail.
- No shower soap in the on-the-wall dispenser, and the conditioner dispenser had fallen off the wall.
- No bedside lamps! And no place to plug a phone charger in overnight. A serious oversight for today's tech-heavy travelers.
- Pricey for all that.

Bottom line: Choose someplace else.

Very clean rooms and service was great! We kinda overslept, and cleaning lady was like meh I knew y'all were trying to get there. Thanks for an enjoyable stay on our getaway.

From a booking perspective, it's always easy. And they send receipts without me having to call and ask. Only thing I wish was different was that I didn't have to send cc authorization forms to a gmail and they had something more secure. I ended up sending the form with my employees instead.

Staff is friendly and very kind, very clean hotel all in all, I gave 4 stars because the hot tub wasn't hot and needed more water. The breakfast in the morning was just right to start the day plus it's complimentary. They even offered late check out to 1pm for me while my father was having surgery so for that I go back and give them 5 stars. Also ask which restaurants around give you a discount for being at the hotel. We went to a Mexican restaurant and was give 20% off.

I’m a titanium elite and it took over an hour to get my room ready. Staff claims that the housekeeping has till 3 o’clock. I’ve never seen such poor service at a Marriott property

Straight trash and getto smells and not clean even if it’s looks like. Looks can be deceiving. Sheets and towels were not clean pillows same everything was just bad can’t believe they are using the Marriott name. Employees need to take pride In the Job they have and not cut corners if they can’t do it right then don’t do it at all. For the price they charge definitely not worth it. Keep on driving there are better options for the same price down the road

I booked my room using the Marriott app over a week before arrival and I chose the prepaid option, so Fairfield charged my account immediately during booking. Then, the morning of my arrival, I checked into my room using the Marriott app and we proceeded on with our day. We arrived at the hotel at 10: 30 PM and were informed they had no rooms available (we were not the only ones standing in the lobby with the same issue) …. When I questioned how that’s possible when I had already paid and checked in the only answer I was given repeatedly was “I said we don’t have any rooms, we don’t have any rooms, PERIOD…. If you don’t have a key, you don’t have a room”. When I asked how to get my refund, staff argued with me that they had not charged my card yet. I offered numerous times to show them my bank account and that the money had been debited from my account over a week ago, but they said they did not have to look at that and I did not know what I was talking about. The truth later came out when they informed me that the maid service did not clean enough rooms today, so they had rooms, but they weren’t clean. We tried finding another hotel in Tyler, but unfortunately everything was booked, so we ended up having to drive 45 mins to Kilgore, TX. I would suggest anyone stay clear of this Marriott hotel because staff is rude and you’ll be lucky if you have somewhere to sleep after a long day of travel!

Very nice staff. Kenneth checked us in and was so kind. The room was very clean and comfortable. Unfortunately the pool was closed for maintenance, but otherwise a nice stay.

Second time staying here. Clean room and good breakfast. Hotel is well maintained. Workout room is a little small to do much with the dumbbells. 3 treadmills and elliptical also available. It's not a 5 star hotel but 5 stars for what it is.

If I could rate it 0 I would! Definitely regret staying here. I’m a Marriott member and this is the WORST hotel I’ve ever stayed at. When I first checked in the room I received had two queen beds and the TV did not work. I had booked a king bed. I called downstairs they move me rooms and when I went into the other room it was still two queen beds but this time the TV worked when I called downstairs and I talk to the night though they informed me that they sold out on king bed… even after the lady at the front desk lied and said The next room was a king? It was already almost 12 o’clock at night when I checked in due to where I was traveling from for my sons appointment in Tyler. So I decided to just go ahead and stay the night tonight and change hotels in the morning. Unfortunately my son‘s surgery did not go the way I planned so I ended up having to stay another night at the hotel due to just not being able to move all our stuff as a single mom by myself. It was disgusting in the room the bathtub drain has mold on it, The TV never worked truly, The beds had left over food from other guest in it. I booked from Sunday until Wednesday and today is Monday and I’m checking out tomorrow before 12. And I will never be returning to this hotel ever again. Oh and not to add their pool is completely closed and their hot tub has caution tape wrapped around it and is completely drained! DONT STAY HERE! I honestly wish my Marriott app will let me write this hotel because I would rate it a zero in for the same exact review!

I have stayed at other places in Tyler, but this stay was much more pleasant. The front desk staff greeted me very warmly when I arrived with my teenage son. Ashley was genuinely enthusiastic and treated me as nicely as I had hoped, being a Marriott Rewards member. The breakfast was scrambled eggs, sausage, muffins, yogurt, cereal, fruit and even pre-made waffles. It was better than other hotels in the area. The room was very comfortable and not unusually noisy. We had a toilet that needed a new flapper, but that was repaired on the same day that I mentioned it. The maid service was equally as friendly. Teressa was very nice and asked what she could do to make our stay even better. Other than an extra towel, the stay was terrific. This is my "go to" place when I stay in Tyler.

This is a pretty dumpy hotel. The soap dispensers can be opened and are completely unsanitary. The gym doesn't have water or towels and isn't maintained very well. The business center isn't working. Your booked room type isn't guaranteed.

Overall clean and well-maintained. However do not get room 210. It is directly over the front sliding doors, and you will hear those front sliding doors opening and closing all night long.

The best location in Tyler. Along with an amazing breakfast. All hot items and the price is so reasonable! The staff especially the manager Is so this hotel is a gem.

The staff were wonderful and so helpful! My room was clean and comfy. I highly recommend this hotel vs the best western across the street where I got terrible service. So glad I got my refund and stayed here!

Worst ever experience I had, front desk lady was rude and not welcoming at all, rooms were not cleaned and air conditioner sound was loud and noisy, couldn’t sleep, worst Breakfast, lady in breakfast area was rude and not welcoming. If I can give 0 stars, I can give absolute zero.

Hotel is desperately in need of an update. Common areas and room carpets very dirty in appearance! Breakfast, who doesn't offer toast? One of the most inexpensive things a hotel could provide!
