Family Armory & Indoor Range, Midland TX

I went to this range for the first time during the week. It was not busy at all. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I received a military discount and I was surprised that their store was well stock and competitive prices. Their prices are reasonable. I will definitely come back again.

Had some difficulties in a transfer process, but they helped with my situation as much as possible to get it fixed. Frustrated, but thankful for their assistance.

Staff is always friendly and courteous. Range is clean and tidy. My wife and I love taking our Thursdates here.

I pad went down halfway through the waver and he handed me a paper packet. I grabbed a pen to fill it out and he jumped all over me for “REACHING BEHIND THE COUNTER IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED”

I was planing out utilizing the facility to shoot during lunch as I work 0.7 miles away.

Very nice place with friendly staff. I brought a new handgun in to zero the sights in and forgot my tools. The staff let me borrow tools so I could continue. Thanks for a great time. Will be returning.

Usually a decent place, but I took my wife in to function check a new (to her) pistol, she was shooting and I was there to help her get oriented with it. They charged me $10 just for standing behind her in the range. I guess the almighty dollar is more important to them then ensuring safety. There are plenty of ranges in the area and they just lost a customer over $10

As long as you are shooting your own irons the place is par for the course. Renting however was a very, very poor experience, with the weapon misfiring and still being charged for the rental since "you were able to fire the 10 free rounds" that came with the rental, 20 dollars to fire 10 rounds is a terrible deal. I doubt I will ever go back. **edit** As the owner came on and replied, I will add in the details to the situation so that customers can make their own decisions. The rented firearm went through ten rounds plus a bit less than half of my purchased ammunition (40) for the rental (you buy their ammunition for rentals which is fair), before it began misfiring. Happened twice, and they decided to test fire, they verified it had an issue, and then began to take it apart. After perhaps 30 min, after they decided the problem was carbon built up on the carrier bolt, and an employee came in to offer to switch out to another rifle, as we were leaving in the next few minutes to get something to eat and it was nearing closing time, I declined. We finished up, I paid for everything including the rental, left the unfired ammunition with them as I have nothing chambered in it, and left my review to what I considered a very poor experience. I can very stringently say that I was not rude, as in point of fact the customer facing employees were themselves professional and polite, and I have zero doubt they were following store policy. The owner never spoke to me, though I suspect he was the gentleman that told the employee specific parts on the rifle to check for the cause of the issue. In any case, my one star review still leaves you at the 4.7 mark, and you are free to ignore my poor experience as you will, though it sounds like I would not be welcome back regardless.

Extremely friendly. Really good feeling while I was there. Everyone had no problem answering my questions and or helping me. Price is a but high but I definitely will return.

If you can't shoot outside then bring it inside and enjoy good people with knowledge. It's fun and safe

Nice clean range with super friendly and knowledgeable staff. We have a membership and go shoot several times a month. Their prices are very competitive and they have a great selection.

Most of the staff was friendly except for 1 young female. She was not “family friendly” at all. We came with friends to shoot, & in an effort to keep the kids out of the way we took turns sitting in the classroom. They were not being loud or unruly. She came in and informed us that to sit in there we would need to rent the classroom for $60. Seriously? There was no one else there. We paid for 4 lanes and 10 people.
My family & I will not be back to the “Family” armory.

One of my favorite places to shoot because lanes are clean and work as they should. Staff does a great job of providing table space and checking on things in the lanes.

It sucks, my friends recomended the place, but I went in b.c. And tried to rent a gun, and they said, they dont rent them to walk ins, because there have been too many accidents, so, whats the point of renting your hand guns?

Won’t be shooting or purchasing anything here ever again. Background check was delayed on Black Friday and when going to pick up the firearm the price wasn’t honored. Nowhere on the Black Friday ads or in the store did it say “only applies if taken home that day”, the staff didn’t say anything either when the delayed response came back immediately.

I am someone that will alway try to support local business and have really enjoyed doing so in the past in many other places I’ve lived, but I can’t support places and people that are dishonorable and won’t support any type of customer service.

Today was my first time coming in and I have to say the experience was phenomenal from start to finish. I was out and about looking at guns all day and I had just left one place that was entirely rude and unprofessional towards me before coming here. When I came in I was not only greeted, but asked if I was looking for anything in particular. I am really bad with names, but fortunately it's on my receipt as Carson C. He was absolutely amazing to work with, cheerful, knowledgeable, and he showed me and my husband several hand guns, one we wanted to see and ones he thought we would like as well, all while doing my paperwork for the gun I purchased and informing me of the social media pages ya'll have! I actually felt like I was chatting with a long time friend the entire time and not waiting in queue with a associate that didn't want to deal with me. I am beyond thrilled with my purchase and because of Carson's positive attitude and enthusiasm I will definitely be back for my next gun purchase as well as recommending Family Armory to all my friends and family. Been going here for about a year now! Great people that work there and dont have an RSO breathing down your neck about every little thing

This Range has great personnel that provide helpful and knowledgeable input. The other day i went tot test fire my AR pistol and had an issue. They immediately helped to narrow down the issue and allowed me to fix at minimum cost. Thanks again.
