Feats of Clay Pottery reviews
7This review is long overdue. I've been taking Canaan's Wednesday evening class for a few months now and it's been an awesome ride. He's patient, funny, and an incredible teacher. As someone who works a stressful 9-5, there's no better feeling than unwinding and getting creative with some clay. Most evenings I lose track of the time because it's just so dang fun to create something with your own hands! The staff is really sweet and very inclusive, and Becca has done a great job of ensuring that everyone can and should be themselves when coming into the studio. Thank you Feats of Clay staff! Yall are the best.
Don’t book - go anywhere else.
Booked a class with a first date and deceptive door signage resulted in us standing outside for 20 minutes only to discover they were closed. Refused to reschedule or refund. Reporting to the BBB.
Class was OK but overpriced for the level of instruction. Was told I would get a call when my pots were ready for pickup which I never received. Finally got a text today only to be told my pots would be thrown out tomorrow if I don’t call during their very limited business hours.
Overall don’t think the class is worthwhile for the poor customer service.
Attended a class with some friends and at the end selected the option to pay for each of our pieces to be glazed for about $20. We were told by the woman at check out that we would receive a telephone call or email when the pieces were ready to be picked up. After over two months of waiting and not hearing back, I gave the store a call. I was then told that there was a status update page on the website that you were supposed to go to to check on your pottery. That's great! If only we were told that when checking out instead of being told we'd get a call. On the phone call, the woman said she would check in the back for our pieces and give me a call back that day. To this day I still have not gotten that call. I looked online and sure enough, our pieces had been dumped because they had not been picked up on time. I gave another call for ask for a refund. Not for the class but just for the $20 that was spent on getting the pieces glazed. Instead of taking ownership for the fact that we were explicitly told we would get a phone call or email for pick up, I was chastised for not knowing about this online portal my friends and I were never told about. In addition to that, no ownership or responsibility was taken to simply say, "Hey, I'm sorry you were told the wrong information". It's not even about the $20 anymore but just poor business practice in general. I was once again told I would get a call back but nothing. My friends and I even considered taking the several week long course after our class but we will take our business elsewhere.
An Austin classic! Visit for the art, stay for the people and the awesome clay community this place helps to foster in our city
My boyfriend and I did a beginners course with Rebecca. The session was so fun and I’m so glad that Rebecca was hands on and helpful for the entire process. I would highly recommend coming here if you’re intrigued by pottery and wanting to try it out:). I even purchased some cute earrings made by Rebecca. All the staff here is incredibly sweet.
