Restaurant Fish Tales reviews
16We have been going here for years but today was horrible. The hostess was MIA. Then they sat us at SOMEONE ELSE'S table when they stepped away. Awkward. Waitress was not friendly at all. Then told us she was leaving we had to close out and here was our other waiter.fine but we honestly only wanted one more beer which could've been handled by her. Took us 30 mins/ check.that's an HOUR of waiting to pay for 4 beers and a dozen oysters!? Plus I honestly believe that between the 2 waiters and us there may have been 10 words spoken. If everything hadn't have taken FOREVER to get we probably would've ordered way more. We went to sit up and watch our daughter head out on her boat for the Harvest Moon Regatta.no wonder there was hardly ANYONE in this restaurant while all the other patios and decks were full of people watching the beginning of the race.going DOWNHILL FAST. Maybe Tillman Fretita needs to pay a bit more attention! And they don't even validate parking.
The service and environment was good. Food took little longer than expected. I usually visit to another restaurant but wanted to try this place. Not too happy with what I ate.
We ordered Calamari (they had bell pepper mixed) and Fisherman’s choice (fish and shrimp).
Great experience at this location. Chad our server was awesome and the food was great. Sat inside as there was a long wait for outdoor seating.
Food here used to be very good. Today was mediocre, at best. I had a shrimp poboy and was expecting gulf shrimp. I got popcorn shrimp that had no flavor except salt.
The service was quite very slow. I had bragged to my friend about the food here, but it was a disappointment. She got the oyster poor boy and was disappointed as well.
The place is nice but the service is really bad the food nasty taste and dry. I could say something better but I don’t want to lie.
Shrimp were good if a little under seasoned. Bobby the waitress was very nice and accommodating to lots of little requests.
The food was horrible for the price. The fried shrimp were very over cooked. The gumbo was way too thick like mud and too salty. After three spoons I couldn’t do it anymore. It had no shrimp, sausage, or oysters in it. The bread for the po-boy was stale. The only thing that was good were the burgers and the drinks. The waiter Shane was excellent though, he was very friendly and courteous
We came here to have a couple happy hour drinks, some appetizers and just enjoy the view. Management and food were really good but the waiter left a lot to be desired. Very easy to tell that he was upset we weren’t ordering full meals and obviously decided to talk to his coworkers as there was pointing towards our table. His demeanor showed he didn’t like the idea we weren’t ordering more. Margarita was good but the pina colada tasted like a “cough drop” and never mixed well.
We came in after a day at Pleasure Pier. The server asked for our drink order. We said, we're hot and thirsty, so waters with lemon all around (4 of us).
He brought water and no lemon. I asked a second time for lemon for the water. He brought a saucer with four small slices of lemon, two of which had finger smears of what looked like cocktail sauce on them. Gross.
We waited so long for refills, I had to walk over to the bar to get a glass of water. Water isn't that difficult.
Two kids burgers were good, but grilled shrimp was dry and gummy. Vegetables were undercooked and bland. Salt was caked so it was difficult to salt the veggies.
Fried picked and strings were good.
Left thirsty.
The worst service I have ever experienced
We were quoted 30-minute wait time. They forgot us. Didn't apologize. It took nearly an hr and a half to finally get our food. The service is incredibly slow and poor. When they finally did bring the food, they forgot my father in-laws food. When it was brought up to them, we were told it was dropped. If this happened, then we would not have been the one to bring it up. After my father in law waited until we were all done eating to receive his, there was little apology, and they didn't even comp the meal. Poor experience all the way around. Yes Mistakes happen, but they did not seem remorseful at all and little to nothing to make it right, other than a salad while he waited.
The food was not fresh at all. If you sit outside be prepared for birds flying around and walking underneath your seat. The service was amazing, Shane was awesome but I would not return.
Burnt oysters, forgot our order, then said someone took our order, took too long. Waitress just giggled and moved on.
Wife and I were really excited about this place. We passed up 3 fine dinning restaurants to come here. Appetizer We both ordered steak for entree. Had the shrimp with cheese and bacon. Honestly appetizer was mediocre. Server brought it to table carelessly, ranch was already thrown over spilling into the dish. Honestly it was a bar food kinda appetizer. Both my wifes and I veggies were still raw and no seasoning on the entree. Says they were sauteed. Tastes like they were steamed with butter. My wifes baked potato was warm enough to melt the butter but not the cheese. My wifes steak was medium well but honestly dry. Should of been taking off the fire a min sooner to let rest. My 12 ribeye i asked for medium rare came out well done. They brought me back another steak, it was rare. To save us trouble and time I just ate around the rawness. Overall it wasnt worth no 130 bucks we spent. It was more like a 50 dollar meal. Very disappointed!
Food was ok, kitchen was discombobulated as far as orders coming out together and timely. Had to remind staff more than once for missing drinks and food. Will not go back.
It is a good place to taste the delicacies of the sea, good flavor and presentation, thank you for the excellent service
Honestly If I could rate this place higher than five stars I would. The bartender upstairs (Cole) was awesome. Dealt with us all night as we ordered margaritas and food and we closed the place down. Really great food and even better drinks
