Floyds Seafood - Sugar Land

You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. I ordered 6 different items because of how appetizing they looked on the menu. I was disappointed even I tasted my food, because I single have ordered the 2 other owns I had considered also. I will be back to continue working my way through the rest of the menu!

Floyd's is a good spots for fresh seafood, I love the patio setup
I just don't like the wait time on the patio
It seems like every time I go there's only one employee to cover the whole patio and bar
I feel like I'm there a little longer then I should be.
Please find a way to cut down on the lag time from placing your order to getting your food and getting the check on the patio.

I think that they have good food but the taste is very inconsistent. One day you go and have your favorite dish and its great and another day its a total different taste. I love the Oysters Rockefeller and its just not consistent so I won't order it anymore. I'll go to The Roux Por where its similar in price but always on point and the oysters there are larger in size. Maybe have a training session with your cooks to ensure consistency in taste of the food. I also had the fried alligator and the gravy was more like a bland soup this time.

Just plain wasn't good.

Atmosphere is rough, my old fashioned was gross (and I don't even know how you mess that up) the shrimp wasn't cooked or seasoned well and the service was lacking.

Irritated I spent any money at all. I won't be back.

Love the food and the energy of the place! But the bartender outside is overwhelming! So, she's a little rude maybe it's the pressure? Fact remains Nice place

If you like good Cajun food you can get it here. Never had a bad meal yet and the people are very nice. It’s also a good place to meet friends and chat awhile.

My order came out late and when I got home it was incorrect. I have been there 3 times straight for take out and received subpar service each time. I wouldn't recommend this place for take out ever!

Had oysters on the half shell and the best boudin balls I've ever tasted. The grilled crab-stuffed shrimp was great. Try the key lime pie, it was very good.

It was so good. My inky two takeaways are website descriptions should be more accurate and it's a bit pricey. The shrimp for the shrimp brochette for small for the price and the crab although it was good a tad overpriced as well, but we are in an economic increase of pricing.

The food is very good. The wait staff is very good and helpful. The food is more on the expensive side but it is a seafood and steak restaurant.

Went here around 2 pm on a Tuesday for some food while traveling. Crab was absolutely delicious. My husband loved his steak and shrimp. The gator bite drink was stout and delicious!

It is rare that I go for seafood. I had a lunch meeting there and I must say I was impressed. The waitress was very attentive. The food was very good. I would definitely go have lunch or dinner there again.

Forget about eating low cal on this one!

The crab bisque and bread was incredible! The butter garlic bread was beyond anything that words could describe.

The stuffed shrimp is one of the best things I’ve ever eaten! It was stuffed with crab and a plethora of spices.

So why did I not give it a five star?
We ordered the shrimp platter which came with butterflied shrimp, grilled shrimp and the stuffed shrimp. Except for the stuffed shrimp, the platter was exceptionally disappointing. I do believe Costco sells better frozen butterflied and grilled shrimp.

We also ordered a Margarita - which was so awful we had to return it. It was an overload of sugar.

The bathroom is very clean…and there is plenty of parking.

Overall I give it four stars but they could do a lot better on the food quality.

It was an ok place. The service great. Celebrated my daughter's 18th here, and The food was not cajun as expected. They had great menu options but the food was not seasoned at ALL. The alfredo was just alfredo sauce with all the seafood but no seasoning. The shrimp was fried but very bland. The chicken & sausage jambalaya tasted like stir fry rice in tomatoe base. Very disappointed with food. Service was good.

Craving seafood, my wife and I ate at Floyd's this past Sunday. Our regular seafood stop is closed on Sundays. We've been to Floyd's before, but it's been a long time. Now I remember why. We ordered calamari for an appetizer. The calamari was way overcooked and dry. For my entree, I ordered the blackened sea bass with the evangeline topping and a side salad. My wife ordered the stuffed shrimp with a side salad. We told our waitress to bring our salads out first before our entrees. Our previous experience with Floyd's is they bring salads out with the entree which is the only place we know that does this. Our waitress even asked if we wanted our salads out first which we acknowledged yes. It took a while to get our salads, so we knew what was going to happen. We could see our waitress finally making the salads which is kind of odd. Anyway, she brought out our salads and literally after two bites of salad my wife's entree of stuffed shrimp came out by a runner. A few minutes later my entree came out. They couldn't even bring our entrees out together? My wife's stuffed shrimp were not hot at all, maybe just above room temperature. My blackened sea bass didn't appear or taste blackened at all. Tasted like a little bit of seasoned salt and nothing more. It sure didn't look the same as the picture they had on the monitor in front of me. The evangeline sauce was suppose to be a "citrus butter sauce. " It tasted more like your standard cream sauce. I can live with that, but the dish wasn't even warm. Apparently, all our food was cooked and sat on the counter somewhere before they brought it out. A manager was walking table to table which was good. However, she skipped our table and never said a word. We did tell our waitress about our food and she was apologetic. Not sure who to blame. The waitress, the cook, or the runner? I think it was a team effort to screw up our dinner. Either way, we're done with Floyd's.

Quality of Food has gone down hill from past experiences. My oysters smelled and tasted very fishy. My blacken chicken wasn't blacken or seasoned properly. I don't think we will be back

The covered patio at Floyd's is really great! My girlfriends and I were able to relax, have a lovely late lunch, and a wonderful visit together. The food really was delicious. Our orders included appetizers of calamari and the artichoke dip. Both were very tasty. Our entrees included the fried catfish (several orders), a seafood pasta, a shrimp po boy, and Bub's shrimp platter (or something called similar to that). We commented to each other on how delicious everything was. The tartar sauce tasted especially fresh and house made. Also delicious. Overall great visit. The only thing that could've been better would've been prompter service. That seemed a bit on the slow side, sometimes rather inattentive except that we found ourselves asking for a lot. Servers were polite, though, and eventually accommodating. But it didn't really seem like the wait staff really worked out there. Only the bartenders. So that might've been why. The table bussers were helpful, so that kind of made up for it. We were never asked if we wanted drink refills. I thought that was odd, especially since we were outside. But we were obliged when we asked for it ourselves. So, that, on top of the seemingly slower, inattentiveness is only why this visit is getting 4-stars. Just seems like it could've and should've been better. It really wasn't a busy time. It was getting MUCH busier as we were leaving. Overall, it was a good visit. If you like seafood, try it. My suggestion would be to go during off-hours.

Drinks were good, service was fast and bar tender was great (only reason for the 2). But the food was terrible because they don't clean their shrimp! Never again!
