Got together with a couple of girlfriends and did the Quarantini tour last week. Thoroughly enjoyed it! I’ve lived in McKinney 25 years, 23 years in downtown district and learned more about the history of McKinney and enjoyed sampling food and drinks I probably would not have on my own. Tall Paul makes the experience memorable and all the merchants were so nice and accommodating! Would do it again! Thanks Paul!

It is a great way to familiarize yourselves to Old Town Mckinney. Great history lessons one would not have heard of about the beginnings of Mckinney. Told by a great tour guide as he walks and talks you through the town and through time. It's so wonderful to see the original 1800's building facades and architecture mixed with new remodels, while the old-time charm stays intact. This is Old Towne Mckinney with all the quaint ambiences. You'll try samples of food and cocktails of a few eateries. Let's you get an idea of which ones you would like to re-visit, which is pretty much all of them. Don't be shy about telling them what food you can't eat. If you can't have bread (gluten allergy) or you just don't like a bread sandwich and would rather have a salad with the sandwich ingredients in a bowl, speak up, (preferably ahead of time online). You will go to The Guava Tree Cuban Cafe. This is one of those places to re-visit. This is not a fancy restaurant but has excellent, affordable, authentic Cuban food and friendly service. On your tour (perhaps ahead of time online) ask for the "Lechon Asado" sample at Guava Tree which is slow roasted pork with rice & black beans. Excellent! Not over seasoned, just pure deliciousness. Among other places, you will also go to an ice cream & pie shop with an interesting history, where you can sample ice cream infused with various spirits and enjoy a slice of pie. I suggest this Tour for an enjoyable Saturday morning/afternoon, especially if you have never been to Town Square Mckinney. Worth the drive for sure. Parking is free on weekends. Large Parking garages shaded from the sun available, free on weekends.

Tall Paul will make sure you eat well, learn some history and, without a doubt, have fun! Our tour group started as two separate family gatherings and it didn't take long before we were all chatting like we'd known each other for ages. Paul was great about engaging everyone, accommodating any special requests and being flexible with the changing group dynamics. Our family would absolutely take this tour again- or any other tour Tall Paul organized!

We took a girl's trip to McKinney and decided that a walking food tour would be a good way to see the town. Who knew that Tall Paul would provide so much entertainment, history, story-telling, and sharing of his love for McKinney? We highly recommend this fun-filled, fact-filled way to discover how past meets present in McKinney, Tx. 5 Stars for sure.

On a warm July day, Tall Paul met us on the shady side of the square in McKinney and treated us to a fascinating afternoon of story telling and delicious food. His personable, friendly manner was only outdone by his knowledge of McKinney history. Learning about the current community projects such as sustainability and helping the town was great. At each stop we were greeted by friendly people and welcome samples of great food and drink. This tour was a real treat and I recommend it to anyone looking for a fun way to explore. My only advice is to not eat breakfast before you start the tour because the food provided is plentiful and tasty!

Fantastic guide (Tall Paul), really great selections and felt like it was an amazing value for high-quality food, drinks, and storytelling. We did the Cocktail tour in McKinney and will be back for other tours. Definitely recommend Food Walks of Texas for as small as a date night or as big as a corporate team-building event!

Thanks "Tall Paul" you combined great local dining with local history. Tour took us to several locations where we had a dish and drink selected by Paul's wife (CEO and Chef). There are several types of tours, this food tour was awesome, I am sure the other option are too. My favorite was CT Provisions oysters and drink pairing. I learned about the city of Mckinney and all the things it is doing to be sustainable and inclusive. Definitely worth doing the tour if you are in the area.

Tall Paul did a great job of interspersing interesting stories and history lessons of historic downtown McKinney. Not only was he full of information, he had clearly done his research and even had photos to share! I also appreciated the relationship our tour guide had with all of the local vendors. My husband and I are huge foodies and so we thought this would be the perfect way to celebrate our anniversary! We did the Eat There Or Be Square tour with Tall Paul and had the best day! We really enjoyed learning about McKinney’s unique history and never would have thought so many historical celebrities have ties to this area. It was such a wonderful experience and we highly recommend it! We look forward to coming back to the restaurants toured with family and friends. We’re also planning to attend the brunch tour with Lali! This husband and wife duo know how to give a fantastic tour and make your feel so welcome to the area!

In fact o went back to a couple of the stores/restaurants to get something to take home! Definitely worth the money and I would recommend to anyone who wants to try some food and learn about McKinney!

This is so much more than a food tour! It's also a very engaging tour of the history of downtown McKinney. Even if you have already been to some of the places on the tour, I guarantee that you haven't experienced them like this. I would definitely recommend this tour, and come hungry - they give you Texas sized portions!
