Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers, Austin TX

First time and very underwhelmed. Don’t think we will be back. Better options exist. Too many things were not right… online ordering turned off ‘because we are understaffed’. Out of stuff… like regular American cheese? Chili cheese fries absolutely drowned in yellow ‘nacho’ cheese goo…. Very Skimpy on toppings. About the only ‘best part’ was the chocolate Oreo shake.

This was our first time at a Freddy’s, and it was an amazing experience - even through the drive thru! Mariah (that was the name printed on the receipt so hopefully credit is going to the right person - she had a pretty shade of blue hair) was extremely helpful and patient with us as I asked 100 questions. We will definitely be returning as soon as we can despite it being a fair bit away from us!

Sad day. Was craving Freddy’s… drove all the way there around 12pm might I add… and it appeared to be open. In fact they had a now open sign in the window which is confusing because the Freddy’s has been there forever. Anyways, went through the drive thru and they said “we are not open till our manager arrives”. Such a strange experience. I understand being short staffed but why have other employees there that can open/serve without the manager if the manager isn’t going to be there with the other employees. Pay your employees more and get better managers. That is all

If I am found dead it is probably from high blood pressure! Just got a bacon double cheeseburger that had so much salt it should be in the title of the sandwich. Recommend training cooks and/or make sure they know that excessive sodium can be lethal to some people. The fries and sprite was good.

Lately whenever we want to eat at this location the lobby is closed and/or like today the whole restaurant was closed. I believe they are having staffing issues as we were told when trying to go through the drive through there was only one employee on site at that time. I hope they figure it out soon before people stop going to that location.

No line inside. Fast, friendly and knowledgeable employee took my order. Food came out quick and hot. I loved the fries, they were thin but hot and crispy. Burger was a double bacon cheeseburger. Also hot and tasty.

Way above expectations, a very nice surprise! Super tasty burgers (grab an extra napkin, it's worth the drip). Just something special about the grill and a thinner patty maybe? The desserts were really surprising, and I'd choose Freddy's over DQ every time now. Also, the staff was terrific. We were taken care of by a kind, enthusiastic and capable person named Charlene, and I'll take her recommendation any future visit.

Greatest experience I’ve had in a while at a restaurant. Staff was fast and detail oriented. Burger was amazing and the restaurant was super clean. The wife and I will be back!

Not sure if they were having trouble with their machines or what, but the custard/ice cream was already melted when we got our dishes. Disappointing visit
