Fresa's 9th & Lamar reviews
17This place blows. I've lived in austin my entire life and I've never payed 20 bucks for 3 of the smallest tacos I've ever bought. This place is a tourist ripoff
Paid 10$ for ONE soggy chicken taco and a sad watered down flavorless excuse for a horchata! My first and last time trying this place that’s for sure! If I wanted a street taco and a small 12oz drink I’d go to one of the taco trucks down town and get a better deal and 10x better food.
We got our tacos out of the bag and they were not hot, Not even warm, they were cold like when you leave tacos untouched for 2 hours.
We ordered the Pozole, waited in line for like 30 minutes, got to the window and was told they don’t have any Pozole.
Why didn’t someone just come out to tell us this? We didn’t have a back up plan so we asked if there would be something quick they could prepare to which they replied “queso? ”
This was such a bizarre flop, and we were so bummed because we look forward to the Pozole every year, it’s like a tradition for me and my partner.
Killer chicken. Very flavorful. The charro beans were amazing as well. Liked them more than the black beans. The salsa is a perfect complement to the chicken.
Waited between 15-20 min stuck in drive-thru line after ordering. Not cool and the way the clerk handled was even worse!
One of our favorite places in Austin. Amazing chicken and even better sides. The grilled Brussel sprouts are my favorite side. The agua frescas are tasty too!
I just got scammed.
The rotisserie chicken here is great but I ordered a bowl this time and I paid about 20 dollars for something that was about a quarter of the size of a chipotle bowl.
I'm also pretty certain it was prepackaged. Charging that much for barely a snack at a drive thru should be a crime. The person working there was very rude too!
These tacos did not disappoint. Seemed small at first but were packed with toppings. Sauce is a great heat. Packs a punch. We got lucky to get there at a slow time, waited a few minutes but knew it was fresh that way at least. Wish I wasn't so hungry as to forget to take pictures.
I always get their kale Caesar with the achiote & citrus chicken. It is SOOO good, but I always have to remember to get extra dressing because one is never enough for the amount of greens in the salad. It's a little pricey for a salad but the quality is good so I think it's worth it. You have to get their churros with the dulce de leche sauce, it'll blow your mind!
Never in my life have I had "Mexican" or "Tex Mex" food this bad. The only good thing about this place is that it is drive through and convenient. That and the salsas are actually good.
Other than that it is expensive and terrible food. The quesadillas are bland and tasteless. The tacos are lackluster, especially the one with brisket. You take a bite and as your teeth reach the brisket mid-bite, you get the sensation of chewing on bark or mulch. It is the driest meat you will ever eat.
Stay away from this overpriced, over-hyped, garbage drive through restaurant and go literally anywhere else.
Food was delicious and fresh. Worth every penny. Green salsa was a hit. Parking a little crowded when delivery trucks there but it's worth a taste.
Got referred here by a colleague of mine and it is top tier! Super fast and some great food. They have some of the best, most authentic charro beans out there! No place has better charro beans than them! Soo good and spicy
I go here all the time! The super bol is my go to order and I have a hard time veering away from it. Also go for the agua fresca. I like limon!
Really good service, horrible tacos tho, got em made fresh still somehow cold in my hands. Preciate it but I'll stick to taco trucks from this point on.
Two specialty tacos for 7.50? Better be good right? Wrong. One was supposed to have brisket and did not. Got to my job site and noticed one of the tacos was super small, like really small. No brisket in there. The audacity to charge 3.50 a taco smh. Then the other one had so much onions I could only take one bite. Wish I could get my tip back. When you do heavy construction and commercial renovation you need all the energy you can get. Fresas essentially screwed my morning up because I felt sick after eating their tacos.
