Friends For Life reviews
37This shelter is super AWESOME! The best people, and they truly know their animals. Adopted my sweet dog in early February and she is lovely, and the staff continues to be helpful and supportive. Love FFL!
Simply the best people in the world caring for pets that would be forgotten. Please donate to this organization.
They helped me feed my dog when I was going through a very rough time in my life. Everytime I went to their offices I witnessed genuine care and concern for their animals and the animals in the community. I truly believe these employees and volunteers go above and beyond to do everything they can to insure that the pets they place get a forever home
Adopted my Baby boy from here a month ago and he is the best thing that ever happened to me. The Fosters were amazing and had no problem with them, the shelter were amazing and had everything ready for us. They give you a long interview, which I like because it ensures the animals go to good people. This is what they aim to do and this is their goal. They wont just hand you a puppy like some people would a candy bar. The people complaining about the application process and interview process are not patient enough. That's a key factor in owning animals. I will be going back in the future when I have moved into a new house to give other animals there a good home too. The volunteers are amazing.
Very nice and clean place, but deceptive descriptions about the animals and a very harsh application/approval system. They check EVERYTHING (including property search and probably your credit, etc). Know it's for the animals sake, which is good, but it also seemed every dog is a "behavior" dog, no matter what the online/cage card says. (This dog is great, kennel trained, loves everyone blah blah). Get there and "oh they are a behavior problem dog and you need to be approved before you can look at them or take them out" but that totally contradicts everything on the description paper and no one could tell us why they were a "behavior" dog or what the problem even was. They would just laugh and say "well I am not quite sure". Etc.
Very neat and clean place, but mixed feelings about it.
Went there for help with cat food and litter. They were very helpful and polite. Great experience.
Awesome non profit for abandoned dogs and cats. Clean facility and friendly staff. They also have a steady flow of puppies up for adoption.
They are a wonderful organization. They are friendly and very helpful. They care for the animals and they try their best to find the right home for each pet. This is how every shelter should be. Fyi they are a No Kill Shelter!
Full disclosure: I volunteer here, but infrequently.
That said, it's an amazing place staffed by wonderful people who love the animals. If you can care for an animal properly and want to give one a home, this is a great place to adopt.
Adopted our cat from this place. Very friendly staff and great option to first bring the pet over for a sleepover.
These people love what they do. They are so awesome with the animals. I donate as much as I can to them. There are doing a wonderful thing.
Super friendly super loving pet lovers always friendly staff everyone I've encountered over the years I've gone there for support for my dog love this place and the people they deserve donations from everyone and organizations as well. Can't wait to give back to this group
I have never met people who care for animals than the staff and volunteers at Friends for Life.
Friendliest and most welcome shelter in Houston. Ask about their foster programs. 100% no kill.
Awesome place with awesome people. Love that it's a No kill shelter and gives animals a chance that others wouldn't. If you're thinking of adopting, please stop by here first.
Adopted my dog here! Love them as a shelter, love them as a team, however the one thing I don't love is that they are horrible at answering the phones. If you're wanting to contact them, email is the way to go.
My fiance and I made a trip to this location. Unfortunately for us it was on a Friday and there were not many adoptable pets available. The lady at the front desk told me that on Saturdays they have more options in regards to dogs. They had an abundance of cats but not many dogs. The facility seemed clean and everyone seemed very polite, but if you were looking for more options for dogs I would suggest either going on Saturday or look elsewhere.
