Fry Auto Title Service, Austin TX

I had used Frys in the past successfully and did not understand the 1 star reviews, now I do. I got unlucky and got the one employee who power trips on wasting people's time / ruining their transactions.

I had an issue with my title, and she sent me away to get various forms to allow for the correction. That in and of itself is not unreasonable, but I went a total of 3 times, and she continued to send me away citing arbitrary paperwork complaints, wanting slightly different forms, etc. My situation was slightly out of the ordinary so it involved form addendums, which opened the door for her to make arbitrary rules about how forms should be assembled. On the final time it became clear that this is a power trip situation, because this same employee said there was no way she could process my title transfer due to a form being filled out a certain way- but then I pointed out it actually was filled out how she wanted - she then just made something else up. She knew that my seller was out of town, so all of these forms were coming via post, and it was a meaningful inconvenience to me and the seller. Two for one dividends on the power trip I suppose.

I then called the county tax office and they immediately confirmed my forms were fine.

Fry Title was incredibly helpful, efficient, and informative when I was dealing with an out of state title issue. They explained exactly what needed to be done, how to handle it, and how much the process would cost. The complicated issue was resolved within mere days. All the employees were friendly and willing to go the extra mile. I highly recommend them.

The staff that work here are so helpful and kind. Wait time isn’t bad and I enjoyed working with this business.

There is one woman who is not only terrible at customer service. She will literally try to sabotage your transaction! I do not know her from Adam, but she had some weird personal vendetta against me from the beginning and then the supposed owner was just sitting in a chair and not helping anyone sweeping the floor here and there and then I had the nerve to defend this horrible woman! This was the second time I had to come, and both times she was equally disgusting with her attempts to block my transaction for no good reason.
Thankfully, the other two women are amazing at what they do and did not listen to the horrible woman, nor apparently their “boss“ because he was clearly in agreement with everything that disgusting woman did or said I have a video of it if you’d like to see it

I arrived before 10am today, and there was no line. By the time I left, there were four people waiting. Go Early! I was making a vehicle title change and the women were very knowledgeable and helpful. It helped that I did research ahead of time to make sure I had all the correct paperwork. MUCH easier than going to the Travis County Tax office!

Worst experience with Racist folks. They would find issues with paperwork that was perfectly fine. We went to another location with the same documents and had our title right away.

I must have caught the receptionist on a bad day. If you can handle a bit of condescension, it's much better to come here than go to the tax office.

The people behind the counter are friendly and hard working. It can be a frustrating situation but they do a nice job.

The worst experience too much apathy, disrespectful the ladies who work there, indifferent it is supposed to be a place of service because these people do not know how to treat with the minimum of respect they do not try to help on the contrary they look for a different detail every time you go so as not to perform the procedure whose service you are going to pay. I do not recommend this place at all, it is preferable to line up and wait in the corresponding office. In my case, the motor department may need another type of work or definitely their retirement, super annoying with this place

This place has been great for a long time with several visits I had. Today though the lady at the counter was extremely cold, mean and bad energy. She was so impatient and aggressive for no reason. She also at the end kept trying to leave not answering my questions. As she was speaking at some points her coworkers and the people in the line even looked over casually as she was speaking because it was so off-putting. She was the one on the far left of the counter not sure of her name but they sit in the same spots.

The worst experience ever. I've been using Fry Auto Title for over 10 years now and they have always been great, until now. This time was much different. I went here to verify the information and docs I needed to transfer a title from my father who had just passed. I flew to CA had the documents notarized with my brother, came back to Fry Auto Title, and they told me they were done incorrectly. I had docs re-notarized several times and made many trips back and forth as Fry Auto Title would not except the CA notary. After many trips and a lot of money I decided to go directly to DPS and had no issues. Matter of fact the original documents would have been just fine. Don't let this place frustrate you, they are only good at very simple tasks that have to do with the state of Texas. I will never use or refer Fry Auto Title again. I'm really not sure why they are in business.

Closed at 12 because of rain - after I called to make sure they were open- never mentioned closing early

I had two cars that had not run in some time, so of course we had let the registration lapse. Fast forward two years and it’s finally time to register. I dreaded going to the DMV/DPS but my husband recommended this place. In and out. No problems. Nicest people ever! Thank you!
