Beautiful presentation of food, love that they do their best to offer traditional Japanese fare, great ambiance… but the food was fairly forgettable. Best item we got was the bacon wrapped scallops and the salmon skewer. Mushrooms, gizzards, pickled veggies, and purple seaweed were all VERY meh.

Went here for the first time for a birthday dinner and it was magical. Really enjoyed trying the different types of sushi and will definitely return!:) my Favorite was the beef ribs that were so tender and flavorful, yum!

Our waiter for one time was sweet and attentive. Kawa ebi was the best appetizer. New Year’s Eve visit was a disaster experience though. Sand In scallop sashimi, then manager came to tell us they always washed scallops but it happened some times.

We ordered a dessert with her, but after she left, we sat there and waited for 30 mins for a mushroom skewer from the original order and the dessert we ordered with her (we were told mushroom was not charged, but it turned out to be only 50% off).

I asked if we could cancel the mushroom skewer after waiting for 30 mins. Our waiter told us it was probably almost done. A few minutes later it was served and we got the bill. However, the dessert was cancelled without my knowledge. Must be a misunderstanding.

A bit disappointed about this experience, hence the change to a 3 star.

We ordered a variety of sushi and yakitori, and all were great. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. The made in-house earl grey plum wine was so good. I would go back just for that.

Good Japanese izakaya. More traditional side. Excellent services. I will definitely come back again when visit Austin in the future.

Best sushi ever in USA!

I ordered Sashimi and it was melting in mouth.
Price was over $60 but it worth it

The staff was super nice. The food was not good. We were told the portions would be sharable, they are not. We got the sake infused scallops and it was very strong and the scallop were not flavorful and rubbery.

My friend and I came in on a Friday evening and were sat immediately! Staff is friendly, informative, and attentive. The menu is catered for a sampling experience, so you get small plates to try. We had a great experience!

The food was incredible; highly recommend the miso pork belly skewer! The nigiri is some of the best we’ve had outside of Japan. Lovely staff.

Very overpriced for the quality. Only the kankitsu was good. Everything else tasted like sushi you get from HEB.

We really enjoyed Fukumoto. I want to highlight that this is more “traditional Japanese” and NOT “Americanized” sushi. Everything we had was delicious. I would highly recommend.

This place sucks. It was a frigid 60 degrees, the music was blaringly obnoxious terrible Japanese music that was incredibly annoying the entire time, they had one or two rolls on the entire menu that had any sort of variety, and even that was mostly rice with the tiniest pieces of cucumber you’ve ever seen. So overpriced for what you get. What a headache.

Very authentic place with delicious food! We enjoyed our dinner here, everything was nice!

I liked both special rolls “Kankitsu” and “Murasaki”. Their ingredients are interesting, and taste is great. I really liked the crunch in “Murasaki” and pear in “Kankitsu”. Yakitori were also well-cooked. “Buta-Bara” and “King Salmon” were very soft and melted in mouth. Service was also perfect here as well, very attentive personal and wonderful atmosphere.

Some of THE BEST sushi in Austin by very knowledgeable & passionate chefs. The service at the sushi bar is especially top notch. You will not regret it!
