Gables Turtle Creek Cityplace - Dallas reviews
15Great home feel, cozy community right in the middle of west village which is great walkable area. Attached garages to park in as a major perk too!
We had a lot of issues when we lived here, but maintenance was always nice and fairly quick to make repairs.
The gates always seemed broken, mailboxes, always getting broken into, parking is always full, appliances were old and outdated,
But overall we like to living here until the $450 rent increase, we found some other apartments in downtown that were a little bigger with newer appliances and cheaper.
But if you want, and like the Uptown wife overall, this is not a bad place.
I moved to the Gables Turtle Creek Cityplace about two weeks ago from out of state. When I came to visit Dallas to look for an apartment no other apartment complex was as accommodating as the Gables Turtle Creek Cityplace. I looked at 9 different properties and what won me over was how the staff really took the time to explain all the options this property has to offer in addition to going above and beyond to make me feel welcome in Dallas.
I agree with other reviews that the kitchen and bathrooms are average. But this property makes up for it by being in a fabulous location, landscaping is nicely maintained, it is quiet and the fact that each apartment has its own garage is a definite plus.
My experience with the maintenance staff has been equally positive, they are all polite, professional and get things done in a timely manner.
Another call out would be that l love the fact that this is a pet friendly property. The property even has pet friendly trash containers on the property for easy access. I have noticed however, not all residents pick up after their pets which is such a shame considering the property works hard to maintain a nice living environment.
My pup and l have only been here two weeks, but so far, l am very satisfied and would highly recommend this property.
Update: 9/18/2023
It's been more than a year of living at this property and my original review still stands. I personally feel that the few bad reviews I have read do not encompass the entire experience at this property.
The staff have continued to be wonderful to work with when needed. They are professional, kind and willing to go the extra mile. When things are broken, they do what is needed to get things fixed as quickly as possible. They are here to help us.
I walk my dog multiple times a day and see first hand how Gables is making an effort to continue to improve the esthetics as well as the safety of this property. New mail boxes, new roof, security cameras and new landscaping to name but a few. I will continue to highly recommend this property.
I have been a resident at Gables Turtle Creek for over a year and just renewed my lease! I have had such positive experiences with all of the staff members here, particularly with Tim in the leasing office, who has gone above and beyond for me as a tenant.
Besides being fair, patient, and proactive, he is a great listener, and always takes time to go the extra mile- whether it be by promptly responding to emails or helping me through the lease renewal process. He played a big role (if not, the main role) in my decision to renew. The maintenance crew is also fabulous and attentive. Virtually all of my maintenance requests have been resolved in less than a day- even small, non-emergency requests. I love coming home to Gables after a long day at work, and look forward to my new lease term with them!
Everything is extremely outdated. The appliances are really old. The cabinets and carpeting are cheap. You can't switch between AC and heat using the thermostat. You have to have a switch flipped on the water heater to use one or the other. They send out emails a day before extreme temperatures telling you to have the maintenance person come flip the switch. It's an idiotic system considering that there may be drastic changes in temperatures that make it necessary to be able to easily switch between AC and heat. The package room is disorganized. The only selling point for this property is location.
Updating my review.they've had a bug (roach) problem lately and have not taken it seriously, so now the entire building is suffering. Our units don't get sprayed regularly so it was only a matter of time. Really disappointed in the lack of urgency on this matter since I brought it up in June and the exterminator that is used by the building is terrible. Again, was only a matter of time.
Maintenance team is top notch, though.
We moved out April 2nd, we had 3 packages delivered after our move out date and now they are missing. After speaking with someone, it was revealed that the management team retrieved our packages from the locker room. The management team says they have no idea where they are. Over $700 of merchandise and prescription medication. I would not recommend living here.
Great community with a great staff! Visited a friend here recently and was highly impressed. Great location and everyone was so friendly. I will surely keep this place in mind when my current lease expires next year!
Went to go inquire about the apartments and the older gentleman in the back and the old blonde haired woman just looked at me while the talked to another lady that came in after me. I literally sat there for 30 minutes. Not even a hello.
I used to live here when the building was only a couple of years old.
Now the appliances are old and the carpet is worn out.
After a divorce I was getting started on my new life and in search for my new home. After coming in and viewing the property and also meeting the lovely staff especially, Lacy who she was kind, patient and very helpful, I then decided that Gables Turtle Creek was the place for me! I am loving my new life and loving my apartment especially how spacious it is. Glad to be apart of the Gables community.
Great place to live! Pool and gym are so good I don’t need an expensive gym membership. The front staff is always so welcoming and helpful and the maintenance staff is quick to respond to any issues. Love living so close to all the shops, restaurants and especially the Katy trail!
Gables turtle Creek city place has the friendliest staff and the best maintenance team that I have ever encountered. I really appreciate this community and will continue to renew my lease and stay here as long as I can…. Thank you Gables at turtle Creek.
I only had a tour, if you wanna pay around 2.5-3k for old nasty townhomes that have 25+ stairs to get into the home, then this is your place!
We are still interested in this property it is just a bit hire than he would like to spend. However, we are just doing our tax stuff so we can make sure we can cover all moving expenses and pay a bit ahead of time on rent. Just reviewing our financials since it is a bit more than we were expecting. He is really wanting me to keep it at 2k no more than 2.2k,! I’ll keep you posted though. The fact that they will assist with the home buying process after you have rented with them is so beautiful. The community and each apartment home there is so beautiful and actually feels a bit like a new home versus an apartment.
Lucy, thanks so so much for everything and all of your help. You're the best and your property is really lucky to have you working as an ambassador for them. You all are the best in the area for the price hands down.
Have a blessed and prosperous day,
DeLeshia Sheppard
