Galiana's Tex Mex & Agave Bar reviews
18Galiana's is a delicious alternative to the boring Tex-Mex we've come to expect in the Houston area. The menu has been tastefully crafted to remind you of meals you might get accross the border, even with such simple items as what look and taste like Guatemalan-style refried black beans and their fluffy and flavorful rice that tastes nothing like the bland mush you find at most restaurants. The carne asada is magically rich and tender (I recommend the carne tampiqueno as well). The street tacos make a scrumptious and light lunch or dinner option. The red sauce that accompanies the chips is bold and addicting (careful, it's a touch spicy). The tableside-torched queso flameado with chorizo is a delectable appetizer. Not to mention the dozens of tequila options and craft cocktails so you can sample something new every time you come (I recommend the Oaxacan Old-Fashioned if you enjoy something a little smokey). The restaurant is also a bakery full of delicious treats, cakes, pies, etc.that will surely curb your sweet tooth-cravings. Again, if you're looking for a typical, boring Tex-Mex spot- this isn't it. Once you come enjoy the incredible food and personable service, you'll no-doubt be a regular.
1st time to this restaurant and it was a nice surprise. Salsa was a little too hot for me, but other tables seemed to enjoy the flavor profile. Tacos and cheese enchiladas were good with my wife enjoying her taco salad with grilled chicken. Will definitely return
The only thing good about this place was the very nice waitress. The food was surprisingly very bland.
Excellent food. Blue corn tortillas are best we've had. The Charro Beans have a unique taste and are very tasty. All of our entrees we're excellent value and the service was very good; attentive, with extra attention to the 3 year old in our group.
First off, they were open Christmas Eve. That is worth 4 stars in itself! We had the fajitas for 2 mixed and they were one of the best fajitas we've eaten in a very long time! The service was impeccable. We were greeted by people with good attitudes considering the night, and they wished us a Merry Christmas. Our server Lucas was very well trained and very helpful. Hint, if you wanna know what's good, ask Lucas and he has some great recommendations! Even the chip person was phenomenal and the Margaritas hit the spot! Thanks Y'all for making us feel at home. We are sorry you had to work Chrismas Eve but I think we found a wonderful Tex Mex restaurant we can call home.
I can do nothing but give this place 5 stars! From the moment you walk in the door until you leave. We were greeted upon walking in the door with the friendliest smile and greeting. The restaurant is not very big but it has a nice welcoming ambiance.
The waitress was very nice and had great customer service. They give you complimentary chips and salsa. The chips were fresh and thick and the salsa was homemade and spicy. The salsa did not lack seasoning! We ordered the chicken flautas. The meal came with 2 chicken flautas with a tomatillo sauce on top with tomatoes and lettuce. The dish also came with refried black beans and rice.
These were the best chicken flautas I ever had. The chicken was so moist and seasoned well, it was not chunky dry shredded chicken. I just couldn’t get over how moist and delicious it was. This will definitely be our go to spot when we are on that side of town!
I asked for a chocolate martini and it was so good! The food is amazing and for a great price!
The beef is sooo tender and cooked well. Street corn is awesome too. Sometimes bar service is very slow
I came here on a whim just driving around trying to find food with my grandmother and boy were we surprised. This place may be the best Tex-Max in North Houston short of Abriza. The best cheese enchiladas I’ve had, some of the best flautas and ground beef. Everything was just so flavorful and freshly made. You can literally taste the freshness. Meme and I were incredibly impressed with the food on every level. We will be back anytime we’re craving some delicious and freshly made (and decently priced, might I add) Tex-Mex.
Pastery's are amazing! Food and drinks delicious
Impeccable service will definitely go back!
The service and the food is outstanding… The Charro beans the best I’ve ever had… And the salsa is spot on… Great taste. I don’t live in this area but when I’m in this area I will be stopping by.
This is the best Tex Mex restaurant in Harris County. Great service, super clean, great selection of pastries and cake. Top shelf bar too! You will love this place, no lie.
Our waitress was nice and gave good service, my dad’s “The Mexican” omelette was only filled with cheese and peppers when we also requested chorizo to be in it, receive my daughters meal incorrectly and not on time with our meals, we also ordered a carafe mimosa and you can tell it was over a day old flat champagne and we payed $27! Needless to say we left and went to Sam's Boat at Towne Lake it’s $15 for a bottle brought to your table. Not sure if we will be back for Brunch, I had high expectations because of the previous reviews it was very mediocre.
Came here for lunch for the first time. Had their Pollo con Rajas, it was so delicious. They have a unique variety of Mexican street food. Wish I had found this place sooner.
Hands down best fajitas I've ever had! Food is fresh and super delicious. Amazing tequila selection, great cocktails and desserts made from scratch. Very friendly customer service!
Pros: Food was phenominal. My skirt steak was cooked to perfection. Drinks were good and strong. Waitress was attentive during meal.
Cons: only 1 waitress meant i had to be verbal to order, and ask for the check when table had been cleared for 5 minutes. I asked for salt on the rim; received salt, sugar, and pepper together.
Prices were 20% higher than the menu reflected. The meat was cooked inconsistently, some was medium rare, some was well.
Overall pretty disappointing considering the prices.
