Gateway At Huntsville

Horrible Management. Horrible Maintenance. Horrible Corporate Office. Miserable living experience. They put profit before providing a safe living place for residents. My apartment has leaked three times in two months. They keep painting over the leak and it keeps happening.

11/23/2023 Tonight Gracie my beagle and I were attacked by the German Shephard owned by the guy who lives on the first floor, back parking lot, building 5. I yelled, "Where is your leash? " and the girlfriend said, "We just got out of our car. " Like that is a reason not to be leashed? Girlfriend, DAH HINT HINT LEASH THE DOGS BEFORE YOU GET OUT OF YOUR CAR. And oh yes, have a leash with you so you don't have to tell your boyfriend to go get it from the apartment. When I fell during the attack my knee got skinned and bloody. If you looking for an apartment for your son or daughter to attend to SHSU! Don't bring them here, I CANT WAIT FOR MY SON'S CONTRACT TO BE OVER AND GET OUT OF HERE! They are old, dirty, spider webs everywhere, trash all over, NO MICROWAVES, tubs are disgusting with stains and dirty, closets are dusty and if I continue it gets WORSE! DO NOT MOVE HERE CERO STARS FOR THIS NASTY PLACE, I am an Attorney an if this place does not provide full service in elevators, maintenance to my son's apartment if something breaks and don't get fixed, you bet I will sue this apartment complex

Do not live here, saving you your money, maintenance is horrible and everything breaks down. Worse than 1879. I highly recommend not living here

Maintenance outright refuses to do their job. Every time a work order is put in, they come by the apartment and leave without doing anything. Our patio door doesn't lock and our kitchen light has been out for almost the whole year.

I wouldn’t recommend this place because maintenance is always late. I had a broken washer and dryer for almost a month and they didn’t come. Me and my roommate kept bugging and bugging them until our parents got involved then they decided to fix it and not only that they like to over charge you for everything they like to charge you for extra fees and if they can’t give you a reason, I’ve always pay my rent on time. My rent is supposed to be 546 like I’ve always paid but they wanna charge me almost close to $600 for pay my rent online which is ridiculous.

This apartment is the first one i’ve lived in and has been a very good first living experience. The staff are very patient and welcoming and have been a huge part of why living here is great!

My overall experience living at Gateway has been pleasant. You can’t beat the affordable prices combined with the awesome amenities.

I have enjoyed the last two years living at gateway! New management has made my experience here significantly better!

You can’t beat the price for this place. It has everything you need for a good price. The only reason I am giving it a 3 star was my moving in experience wasn’t the smoothest, but after move in everything was great! And never had any issues.

Coming up on my one year anniversary living here! My boyfriend and I really enjoy the community here and the staff is always so kind and responsive to our needs

Lived here for 3 years. The prices are good for what you’re getting. We haven’t had any safety issues. The only negatives is if you live in an elevator building, the elevator isn’t very reliable. I’ve renewed for my 4th year so it’s definitely not bad.

I’ve truly enjoyed staying at Gateway. It’s a great starter apartment and far enough away from all the noise of Huntsville. They always respond in a timely manner and I have no complaints!

This is my third year living here. It is a good complex. It is slightly outdated compared to other complexes but their prices can’t be beat. I wish I could be here for another year to be able to enjoy the pool that is being renovated. Management is really nice and does a lot of free stuff for residents.

I’ve only had a few issues here. That being said the office staff and maintenance team have done everything in their power to resolve the issues. I always appreciate their communication. Some updated appliances would be nice but I do love the space it offers! Shuttle hours are amazing too!
Overall it’s a nice place to live

First off I paid my sons rent on time every month while he was living there! Issues while living there.
1. Room door kept getting stuck and would not close properly and he put in three separate orders each order stated it was fixed but never was fixed. Hole was placed in the door because my son had to force his way in the door because it was jammed because it was never fixed. Leasing office tried to charge him. I had that reverse because we had proof it was never fixed from the first time we placed the order to have it fixed.
2. My sons bathroom flooded because of a busted pipe and all they did was fix the pipe and put some fans in his room. They never did take out the carpet which probably had mold underneath from the water that went into his closet and room.
3. Upon move out my son asked the front office to forward all mail to or ending bills to home "guarantor" address. Its funny I never received any bills but I received a notice from debt collector. Called the office and it was stated that the bill was sent to his new apartment complex but new apartment stated no mail was ever received. I was charged for carpet cleaning when carpet is wear and tear and that's not the tenants responsibility especially when the carpet wasn't that clean upon arrival. The manager was not pleasant at all when I spoke to him about the situation. I would not recommend this apartment complex.

Terrible place to live. On move-in the carpet was COVERED in dog hair. A/C NEVER worked (to the point a portable A/C was placed in a room). Mold in the vents, stove & dishwasher CONSTANTLY broken. Elevator out of service for nearly a year. Maintenance Golf Cart RAIRLY moved from the same spot. (probably hiding out). WOULD NOT RECOMMEND
