Good school. Keeps us safe during the construction so we do not get hurt. Always will be the best school I go to.

We get kicked out of building until 3: 45 and I don't like that and also the cunstruction is in the way and yeah

I have been here for almost 3 years and it has been wonderful! Granted, there have been a few set backs but this school fixes them to the best of there ability, everyday they are improving. The teachers care for the kids both academically and with things going on at home. I highly recommended this school for anyone wanting a solid, educational and loving home.

I have gone here since 5th grade (so currently 2 and a half years), and it manages to be simultaneously amazing and slightly annoying at times, with certain students I shall refuse to name for their safety and mine, and the construction going on at the moment. However, I think it is good overall.

I like this school i like the teachers i been here since 1st grade when this school had only like 40+ people I joined in 2010 and im still here in 7th grade im gonna be here till 12 grade.yay

PARENTS READ THIS PLEASE BEFORE OR AFTER LISTENING TO SOME OF THE REVIEWS I have been a student for 5 years, and my mom works in the office to give my review probably more weight than the others.
Okay, I am responding to this guy named Rob Mitchell. Everything he says about this school is wrong.
#1, We don't use Moodle anymore.
#2 The WiFi connection is good, I have never had a problem connecting even up to 3 years ago.
#3 The school can take away your phone for a while but in about 95% of cases you get it back at the end of the day, and they also have the right to charge you money for getting your phone back but they don't.
#4 When the tornado came in October everyone was calling their parents. We were TOTALLY allowed to do that. Some of us were even just playing games on our phones, because of the tornado.
#5 The cafeteria food is amazing. AMAZING, it's only about $4 for your child to get more than enough to eat. ($3 if you can handle your child drinking the nice cold water from the water fountain.
#6 The so called 80% needing to catch up is also wrong, and out of around 100 students a grade, only about 6-10 drop out during or after the school year. The so-called 80% who have to spend all of their free time on homework don't. Only about the 5% that are slower on homework, and don't pay attention in class, and also do not take advantage of a class to work on your homework (I know an entire class period dedicated to homework) and, don't attempt to get ahead on other homework assignment at free time point during the day.
#7 Gateway is sanitary. Janitors come everyday after school come to clean up, the tables are cleaned with a WASHED swiffer and all trash is picked up. I would know, if you get lunch detention from a teacher you have to help clean up the cafeteria. (5th grade through 12th)
#8 5-8 teachers leave the entire school, while at public schools this happens too.except for we have 8 more grades.
#9 I am pretty sure the reason you could not continue is that there was no more issues. All of these "shortcomings" except for 1 are completely, utterly NOT true. None of them!
While at Gateway I have had a great experience, there are great teachers and a good staff. The students here are generally better, at public schools it is pretty much guaranteed to have at least 5 cases of drugs PER YEAR. (And more kids doing it, only that amount get caught). We have only had 1! In 8 years! At public schools they would have had 40 cases in this time. 97.5% LESS cases. I hope you Parents consider going here and read my response. This school does have more work than others but from all 12th graded students, they all say it helped them get into colleges, have better opportunities, and made their college lives EASIER!

It is a very exceptional school, and the teachers are amazing. It also has a great athletics team. Though the construction is pretty annoying, at least it is temporary. I've been here for 5 years and could recommend this school to anyone.

Terrible school. It used to be good until Mr boggs left and then all the good teachers quit. They put all their money into sports and not into teaching.

I would like to leave a great review for the teachers that have been at gateway. I don't think any other school could have had teachers that were that personal, friendly, and hard working. I went to this school from seventh grade all the way up until I graduated and there was never a year were I had all of my classes with a teacher for an entire year. Please don't take it as a bad review for the teachers. It was always the administration who had ruined this school. How could a school expect to be good without teacher? The school has great teachers who are passionate and who love their students, and the staff seems to love to help and assist kids. However, the school itself is not very organized, nor do they seem to deal with problems or respond to them quickly. I have recently had an issue, and have been waiting over 3 weeks to hear back. Also, on my first day at Gateway, I was one of 4 people who did not receive a schedule, where I proceeded to the office, and waited 2 hours. Also, me and 4 others were waiting the 2 hours, while all other high schoolers or middle schoolers got all their issues, like holes in their schedule or double blocked periods, except for us. So I ended up missing 1st, 5th, and part of 2nd period. Also the schedule is excessively long on A and B days, and on C days there is no logical reason that the times are weird and the order goes 1,5,2,6,3, lunch, 10 minutes of 3rd, 7,4,8th period. Finally, the school is technology based, and in my opinion, this makes it harder. More paper activities would help improve the school, and make it easier on students.
Construction is also making the school not great. They block off half off campus, so students are forced to walk the long, long, LONG, way to class. Also this is hard because you only have 5 minute passing periods, so students who are forced to walk around are arriving in class late.
Education is high quality, and the teachers and staff are loving and keep you on track. The school is only for kids who are determined and are hard-workers, however. Overall I would give the school 3 stars.

I love it all the teachers are nice and everyone but the only thing i don't like is how we are going to have to get used to the construction

I love gateway! Im in seventh grade and this is my first year being able to play basketball. I love my coaches and all my teachers.

Lol the review below is wrong, Last week someone was arrested for using the very EVIL thug drug, "marijuana" in the parking lot. There are less instances of drugs but there's also a smaller student body. The exposure to marijuana rots your brain and is a gateway drug, no pun intended. Nice try tho lol

Its ok I mean you get your education and everyone in the comments are just stupid the teachers are nice and you get zeros if you dont do your work!

Horrible, and a black hole for a child's creativity. You can't expect anything from the teachers here, and even less from the administration. Teachers are dropping like flies, you should look for a variety of other schools for you child. This place is falling into a bureaucratic hellhole more than any I've ever seen before.

This school is awesome.those of you who have done a 1 star rating are phonys. This school is organized, it has great teachers and princibles that care about the students. I'm in seventh grade and so far everything is easy. The homework and notes are online so most of the stuff you can do when your sick. I hope i am at this school through highschool.

I go to gateway and i have since 4th grade. To be honest its great in middle school and it is wonderful for smart kids who want to thrive. I have heard that the high school isnt that great but I'm staying because i have hope.

If I could give it zero stars I would. Negative stars would be generous for this school. The only good reviews are from people before the school went completely downhill. Listen to the most recent reviews before you send your kids here

Bad, they don't let their kids use the bathrooms.its like a prison at this school.they don't serve healthy food, two out of every five days they only have hot dogs, nothing else. Also half their teachers tell the head of school lies about students.never send your kids here.

You see, I have a hard time believing gateways a good school. This is because my friend Carson Cooper said that the school is trash, also that there are a lot of girls who don't want to learn and are just thirsty for boys. I'm not sure if this is true or not, but if it is I don't want to be apart of this schools community.
