I had a my wallet stole I eventually got a temporary I.d so I could access my money. Some of the other branches were giving me a hard time even with my temporary card which is valid for 60 plus I had answered all the security questions correctly and provided my SSI number. One branch wouldn't let me with drawl money until I got my new debit card or hard copy. This Gecu was so awesome they treated me with decency and resect and I have some capital in there enough that not having access and being stranded without access to my account was one of the hardest times of my life. All gecu's where just trying to look out for me, this one here could just clearly see I am who I say I am plus with the temporary all branches should of given me access because I answered all the questions correctly and have supporting documents on top of the temporary. I'd just like to thank this branch personally for there hospitality and treating me with decency and respect while very much making me do everything necessary to withdrawal from my account and protecting my assets they where the best of both world. Honestly I believe it in the future I'ma go to this location the most because I'm grateful to them even though the other locations made exceptions they were trying to say that me pulling my money out with a valid temporary I.d is an exception and I don't believe this at all I took it as them making my life that much more difficult doing any already hard time truck engine blew third engine replacement this year having to get new identification luckily they let me replace it online it should be in the mail very soon. Again GECU is a marvelous bank I'd recommend it to anyone but this branch here is my favorite next favorite is the one on dyer next to McDonalds a thank you to gecu especially the one Helen of Troy El Paso, Tx, 79912

I’ve had a lot of bank accounts in my lifetime, but never have I encountered a bank so irritating to deal with. It seems every check I try to deposit, no matter what kind it is, turns into a baffling ordeal. For an insurance claim check, it took me two weeks of going back and forth to obtain obscure bits of information. My contractor said he’d never seen anything like it. For temporary checks, sometimes they’ll take them, other times they won’t, even when it’s of the same type and from the same person as before. Even for paychecks from the federal government, they’ll put a hold on your money. Don’t they think the government is good for it? I’ve been with GECU for years, have never overdrawn my account, never bounced a check or tried to deposit one with insufficient funds. I really don’t appreciate being treated like an unreliable customer… I’m not even going to get into the mortgage loans, structured for exorbitant payments that never make a dent in your principal. Or the fact they have tellers in the bank, but they won’t help you. You have to go to the ATM teller. Think I’m about done with this bank.

ATMS ARE ALWAYS BROKEN OR DOWN AND THEY NEVER PUT SIGNS TO LET PEOPLE KNOW. YOU FIND OUT THEY ARE NOT WORKING WHEN YOU ARE THERE AND HAVE ENTERED YOUR INFORMATION.

Im very glad you asked. So lets start from the beginning. I am selling my personal car to a buyer. I do not have an account here. I do know that this bank is a popular el paso bank. The buyer has an account here. He needs to finance my personal car that i am selling to him. I get off work early to arrange to meet the buyer. We both bring our required documents, title, liscenses, everything. When we arrived, it was obvious that they didn't want to deal with us. I have a good idea why. They were ready to go home. Thats the vibe i picked up. The transfer of the title probably would have been time consuming. This is my 3rd time selling my personal car. So ive been through the steps before of transferring the title to the bank and cutting me a check. We probably could have finished the process within an hour. They wanted us to come back tomorrow to sign the paperwork. Now i have to get off work early again to make it so that its convenient for them. Should i remind readers that the bank should be working for us, not the other way around. So wish me luck. Today we are going to try this transaction again. 3 stars for the banks appearance. Very clean. Nice design and decor. Thanks bye.

I was thinking of giving up my bank account with Bank of America which I have had for more than 15 years for this bank and I set up a checking and savings with them. I also in a moment of weakness took out a debt consolidation loan with them. From day one I had issues. First they don't let you deposit through the ATM for the first 30 days of having your account and they don't tell you that. When you go to an ATM to withdraw money you get blocked from withdrawals and you can only check your account balances, deposit, or get a print out of your account balance. So you have to go into the location and the virtual teller lets you know that the ATM might be out of money or you have to "try again" it could be your card. They tell you that you can set up bill pay but in the mobile app they don't recognize your utility accounts. It's a hit or miss. What upset me the most is that when I was taking out my loan the advisor told me that my loan rate would drop a point after six months of on time payments and now the bank is disputing that with me. Stay away from this bank. My family has accounts with them so I signed up in good faith but it's not worth all the hassles. I am sticking with Bank of America.

Brag on Cinthia. Not sure who she is or her position at GECU, but her & her coworkers noticed I was having technical issues with the Personal Teller inside the branch. So she came up to me, confirmed the transaction I was doing, & gladly assisted me at her window.
Now, not to segue too far off topic, but I’ve visited the branch on Airway & the 2 branches on N Mesa, “big branches” with more staff on duty to help. But whenever I have issues, they put the blame on someone or something else; they don’t take ownership.
So, Cinthia, THANK YOU for taking ownership of a technical issue that wasn’t your fault. As someone with 10+ years of banking & service experience, you made a good call. You made an inconvenient visit very convenient for me. Who would’ve thought that the branch closest to my home had the best customer service. Keep it up, everyone.

Such a pain dealing with them. Employees were professional but it was so annoying dealing with my loan. Every time I called basically had to explain everything over and over. One banker would tell me something, then another one would tell me another. Employees were respectful but they are just so unorganized.
