Gerald Kosub Transmission Service, San Antonio TX

I’m sure they do an amazing job on most transmissions based of their reviews but Unfortunately are not a complete transmission repair shop as they do not service all transmission. Called to get my CVT fluid changed and lady told me they will not even touch a CVT transmission. Makes me wonder if they truly further Their education when it comes continually evolving car technology as they website states. Also kinda misleading stating they stay current on education for all transmission repairs and technology when that doesn’t seem to be the case in regards toCVT transmissions. Luckily I found a shop that is willing to service cvt and seem to have furthered their education in transmission technologies and was glad to accept my business.

Received nothing but the best professional service and updates from start to finish which was a little difficult not living in the same city as Kosub's. Transmission went out while on the road, left on the side of the road, to knowing that my truck was in excellent care. When I first walked in to the facility just looking at how clean and organized the shop was is a real testament the attention put in to the work performed. Truck drives like a champ!

This company was very prompt and professional from the start. I left a voice mail over the weekend and nathan called back before business hours even started to follow up with me what I needed help with. Made it feel very comfortable to work with them. Nathan also updated me very consistently on what was happening through the process of checking on our dodge caravan that had a transmission leak. They were not pushy with telling me I needed to flush the tansmission and said it didnt need to be done that changing the filter and new fluid would be just fine. They test drove the vehicle and cleaned off the remaining oil best they could u der the van as well. I will be using them when needed in the future. Recommend them because finding a quality company that wants to help people and understands that not selling people stuff they dont need wont help your business and reputation but helping people to just fix what needs to be fixed is how you treat people right. Great stand up transmission shop. They repaired my 2004 Tacoma transmission. They answered all my questions before hand and did not try to trick me into unneeded service like other shops. Very polite and respectful of my time. A few months after, I thought I was having transmission problems again. I spoke with Mr. Kosub himself, he said bring it in and we'll have a look at it. Shortly after he called back to tell me they did not have a transmission issue but something wrong with my engine. He did not try to sell me unwanted nonsense, again very honest, fair pricing and good turn around time with the repair. Thank You. Although I would never want to have to visit the shop for service again, haha, I know where I will go if I need transmission service again. Thank You!

Another horrible Dodge story, my 2013 Journey left me in the Valley. I had it towed in and after a good service, they were able to bring it back to life. Completely honest that it could last another 100 miles or 1000000 miles, undeterminable because of the damage. It ran for another 50k miles before the engine failed. I am so grateful to Kosubs, another shop wanted 4k for an instant overhaul. I will be bringing in my other Dodge, I haven't learned my lesson, for a pre emptive service.

I'll never trust a shop that automatically wants to overhaul a trans without even diagnosing it first. I wasn't a customer when I went to the shop the lady at the front desk was friendly. I gave her a paper that I got from autozones OBDII scanner she then took it to a mechanic and when she came back to the office told me the trans would need to be rebuilt. It was a 2013 Dodge Journey with 86k miles

I am very happy with their service on my truck. They fixed what the problem was and they stand behind their work. I have used Kosub before and was satisfied both times. I highly recommend them for transmission service.

Had my Allison transmission rebuilt here after slipping 5th gear (280xxxish miles all original) pulling my 5th wheel. Awesome customer service. They take time to explain your options and solutions. Transmission has been perfect ever since they completed the rebuild. They installed updates they recommended. So far have had zero issues pulling my 5th wheel all over Texas camping at different spots.
