Giovanni's Italian Restaurant, Palestine TX

Chicken Marsala is my favourite pasta dish, and I have to admit Giovanni's is one of the best that I have ever had. The bite size mushrooms formed a magical chain reaction of flavour with the marsala sauce. The chicken was tender and slightly browned. My waitress was a sweet, older lady, whom I would like to thank for recommending the house tomato basil salad dressing. I have tried dipping salad kits into tomato basil can soup at home but it was nowhere close. I am sure this business would be a success if they open a location in Dallas. Unlike Austin, there isn't much competition among Italian restaurants here. Can't wait for next visit in Palestine to dine at Giovanni again.

Chicken Alfredo was perfect, sauce delicious with correct smooth cheesiness and creaminess. Chicken breast pieces were lightly sauted, still moist and flavorful. Garlic rolls were fluffy and very tasty with the seasoned olive oil dip. Service was attentibe and friendly. A must try!

Hubs and I ate at Giovanni's in Palestine on a Tuesday evening around 6: 30.
The restaurant appeared very clean. We waited for a minute before anyone came to seat us. There was a sign that said something about sitting and enjoying, but we weren't sure if that meant to seat yourself, so we waited. Later we learned that it did in fact mean to seat yourself.
The booth seat had worn springs, and the table's laminate was cracking and peeling off.
The server brought us a basket of homemade bread which was really delicious. We both had sweet tea and that was also just perfect! We chose fried mozzarella sticks as an appetizer, and this dish was a home run too! Our meals came with salad. It was ok but not the best I'd ever had.
Now the entrees. Hubs had the chicken fettuccine Alfredo which he said was very good. Chicken was tender and there was plenty sauce which was seasoned just right. I had the chicken parmigiana and it was delightful. Chicken was crispy. Everything about it was superb.
While we were eating, I noticed dried drink splatters on the wall beside me (see the pic).
Our server kept our drinks full and was pretty attentive. We had to wait a while for our check and for to-go boxes. No big deal to us because we had plenty time.
The restrooms were both very clean.
Giovanni's is a very nice local restaurant with delicious food.

I was in town for a funeral, and this is where we dined for lunch. Sweet little spot, staff was absolutely amazing and everyone loved the food. Very much your classic Italian eatery. Stuffed mushrooms are a MUST!

I have lived in the area for 40 years and I had never been to this restaurant. I know it's been in business for at least 20 years, but my first dining experience was not bad. I had the shrimp linguine, which was very tasty. The wife had the salmon but seemed a bit translucent. It had a wonderful flavor but was skeptical. Other than that, it's not bad at all. We will be back to try other dishes.

Food sucked, isn't fresh, pathetic excuse for a salad. $10 for a canoli. Getouttaheeeree

What a unexpectedly amazing place! Food was hot and DELICIOUS, service was excellent. Our server Shelly was so sweet and made excellent recommendations! 10/10 will come back when we pass through Palestine!

Need to hire people who can charge a bankcard. I will never ever use my bankcard in this restaurant again

Food was good after I had them reheat the food, came out kind of cold. Service was good, alittle slow but very nice people.

I made a 4 hr motorcycle ride in 3 hrs running late, just before closing time the service was fast and friendly, excellent food, priced lower than I expected,

Worst food i ever had, im italian so i didnt expect much, but i couldnt even eat it, tastes nothing like actual italian food
