They speak to their people like children or like dogs. Maybe like they are superior to them. They should clean that up

It's a really good program and mission the bible studies are awesome that's really the only thing wonderful about his place. But if your new to the Lufkin godtel the staff and "men" that are actually residents will pick on the new comers making them do chores 3 times a day plus they don't even ask they yell at you and tell you that you have too. The food was horrible all the food they cook is donated and it's all expired. I'm not sure why these people are so ugly to new people if they want someone to know about Jesus that's the main reason for this place. But they are making it to where all the new people have to leave because of the disrespect. MISSION NOT ACCOMPLISHED! Act like christians like Jesus would treat people and maybe you will get more blessings and donations. That's the truth about this Godtel place. The twin city mission in Bryan, Tx is way better there is the salvation army in Tyler and Hwy 80 in Longview Texas. God bless

My wife and I stayed at Godtel for five weeks. The staff waas great. Food not so much. Alot of rules but worth it.it's a place to sleep, shower, and a way to save money to get back on your feet. If you don't like the the bible studies then ju
st go a pony and dig show. It's real simple. My wife and I are very grateful for Godtel and the staff that works there. Thank you Warren and Martin.

My name is Anthony Geffert Jr. Up until April 4th, of this year, I was a resident at the GODTEL in Livingston, Texas. You may learn to find out otherwise. And let me explain:
It is not only that I am a substantial witness [and recipient] to the very un-Christian-like treatments, made daily, by your resident Head Mistress, Benita. I am one of [at least] 20 other former residents, that I have personally interviewed, who have been put-down, put-out, and ridiculed.
I've experienced more in my lifetime than most people have in two lifetimes. And I'm not boasting. Many of these things I haven't been necessarily proud of, which is why I came to GODTEL in the first place:
To change for the better; to get a fresh start; to learn about the teachings of Jesus Christ, and to implement them in my life. And, to get off the streets, get fed, shower, and find a job.
For the most part, I did receive those services. I was taken in from the streets and given room and board. Those were what I asked for.
But what I did not ask for was constant judgement! Judgements made on my character, as if, Ms. Benita had known me my whole life. Very rude, audacious, comments made directly to my face, in front of the other residents, to embarrass me. Not only that, she has made and [still is] making those comments to some of the other residents, about my character! These are not speculations, either. These are facts told to me by various people who still reside there.
So, now, that we are on the subject of character, let's review some other character traits shall we? I prefer to start with Ms. Benita. It's only fitting.
I believe Ms. Benita is a hard-working, overly stressed, poorly managed overseer of the Livingston GODTEL. She has broken her own rules of the house, by taking my belongings and doing whatever she pleases with them, at her disposal. Nowhere in the rules does it specifically state that a residents belongings are to be "sold for profit. " This is a 501 (c) 3 establishment.
Correct?
And, why was I told by Ms. Benita (only minutes later) that she had "given away" my tools and my belongings? To whom? To where? Because I did not satisfy her power trip? Because my "arrogance" called for me to "walk all over her? "
I'm sorry. I do not understand. What, or who, gave this person the authority to speak to me in this way? Then, to turn right back around and smile at everyone else while she recites the teachings of Jesus Christ! "So unto others as you would have them do unto you, " isn't that correct, also?
I know so.
I will be filing charges if my clothes, my personal belongings, my toiletries, my tools for my job, my digital identification cards, my bags, and my shoes are not returned within the next 48 hours.
I am appalled at the secrets this place holds within it's walls! And it's high time the darkness here gets brought to the light.
I'll be in touch.
