Golden Moon Restaurant reviews
9The Good: Staff was pleasant and food was ready on time when I arrived to pick it. The Bad: Everything else. We ordered orange chicken, sweet and sour chicken, and three sides. One of these sides was lo mein because the only option with the $15 entree was rice. I was told that a side of lo mein could be added, but that lo mein could not be substituted for rice. We also each ordered Crab Rangoon. When I asked on the phone if they had Crab Rangoon I was told yes, so we both ordered some. What was in our bag was a cream cheese fried wonton with no crab in sight. From what I could tell they are the exact same ones that you get at Panda Express. This brought our total to just shy of $50, so not cheap Chinese food. Both of us were disappointed with our entrees. The orange chicken was not at all spicy and I could not find any orange slices anywhere in the dish. Most of the chicken appeared to have been cubed and breaded. The lo mein seemed more like spaghetti with soy sauce. The fortune cookies were good at least. In summary low food quality, small portion sizes, at a high cost. I just moved here, so maybe locals know better, but we will not be back.
Long grain rice?
Watery sauce?
Bland soup?
Precooked chicken?
Why? What happened?
The veggies were not cooked long enough to give flavor to the chicken. They were still raw. No starch in the sauce. So it didn't stick to my chicken.
The chicken was pre-boiled. Makes it very bland.
Almost 75% onion.
The hot and sour soups needs more white pepper, and more vinegar. Don't use canned mushrooms. No bamboo shoot?
I know that there's only rich white people around. And they don't know anything about flavor. But you should cook with pride.
What happened? Please try again.
I'm disappointed.
Excellent service kept you from lowest score.
But food is top priority.
Went out on my birthday and was blown away by the drunken noodles! I have plenty of experience at the table and in the kitchen and still I was amazed by the food
Sadly, it's gone down hill.
We've been coming here for years and it used to be fantastic, I would have recommended it to anyone. My husband had a bad experience here during the pandemic, but we gave it another try for dinner.
I noticed the interior had changed when I picked up our order. It now looks about as good as it tastes. The food was terrible-very watery. Hands down the worst Chinese food I've ever had. I assume the ownership must have changed, I recommend going elsewhere.
Highly recommend Golden Moon lunch menu, what a deal! Can't say enough about their egg rolls, delicious.
The service was great but very few people eating there. Had orange chicken and it was just so so and no spice. Was our first time there but won't be back.
The owner is an amazing man his name is Chris he greats you at the table and his hospitality is sub par needless to say I will be here at least twice a week from here on
Delicious! Super affordable, fast, and always accommodating to my needs. Always reliably delicious as well! Love their glass noodles especially.
Unimpressed to say the least. Food was heavily breaded, very little meat inside (about a handful of pork pieces) and the breading was over cooked and greasy. Fried rice had zero flavor. Overall a really sad attempt at chinese food. Overpriced considering the quality and quantity of food. Definitely won't be back.
