There is a reverse hyper machine here. If you like powerlifting or Louie Simmons, that should be enough to convince you to join.

One if the cleaner gold's in the area. They also do a good job of getting equipment repaired quickly.

Matt helped me out with a great deal on my membership! Shower area could be better maintained but everything else is good

Robbed me of Thanksgiving.
I went to this location with my roommate who is a member here. I am disabled and on a very limited income.
About halfway through the sales pitch, I was trying to find a plan that I could afford. When the sales rep got down to what the monthly payments would be, plus the membership fee, I explained that It just was not in my budget. I apologized for taking up his time that I could not afford it and stopped. The rep said no problem. My roommate went to do his workout and I left the store. I was given no "contract" nor any type of paperwork whatsoever.
The very next morning I received an email from this golds gym, it was a contract! One that I never finished, nor agreed to. I went back to the same location to ask how and why this was done. The sales rep went and spoke to Gary, whom I believe is the store manager and was told again that "it would be taken care of".
This morning I had a notification from my bank for unusual activity. Golds Gym took money from my account and as a result of this I can not even afford to buy anything for Thanksgiving. I have no family and have outlived the majority of my friends.
Thank you all so much for robbing a disabled person and taking away my Thanksgiving.
We are not people to you, only dollar signs that you only try and milk for every last dime.
I hope it is a great feeling for you when your sitting around your nicely decorated table with all your family and friends, enjoying that meal, I will be lucky If I can find a. 99 cent turkey tv dinner for mine.

People are there for exercise. At rush hour it is crowded, and sometimes difficult to get your circuits done.
This location has a swim pool, and a big screen movie theater with cardio machines.
The staff are always pleasant and helpful.
While there are cheaper gyms, gold's is not very expressive, and has some extras.

Be aware of their NO contract CONTRACT! This has been the worse experience I have ever had with any gym in my life! They just keep billing me even though I have jumped through every hoop and done everything they have said to cancel my membership. They are now charging a monthly fee of $20 plus the membership fee of $43.29. I have been trying to cancel since the Government shutdown in January. I told them then that I had no income, and could not afford a membership. They won't let you cancel online. They wont let you cancel over the phone. I was told I had to send a letter to the corporate office. That also didn't work. When I went into the gym I was told the manager was not available, but they had me fill out a cancelation form which they would give to him. Between their "fees" and the memberships I have not used since January they have billed me $233 which I just don't have. Stay away from GOLD'S gym and the no contract contract! BE AWARE!

I wish people don't have to go through "Glen" for any of their concerns at this gym. The guy has absolutely no customer service skills and I believe he doesn't have knowledge about gym's policies as well. I had a lost credit card and they tried to charge me decline fee. I requested to have it waived as the bank was not ready to provide any documentation. He would not even help and say that cannot be done in any way. The online customer service team helped me waive that and they explained its once in a year chance that can be waived.poor service. Rest of the people who work here are nice and helpful.

It is one of the newer ones and much cleaner and sparkly. They have high ceilings and ample amount of equipments. The pool is nice as well. Lots of space for activities. It usually seems crowded on peak days but not too bad.

This particular location, Anderson Arbor, is what my review is based on.

The staff is pleasant, childcare area and care is great, and generally speaking the gym is clean throughout.

However, if I didn't receive a gym membership discount here through my husband's work, I'd personally go elsewhere.

Equipment: There's 4 stairclimbers total here. On any given day 1 stairclimber will be working, 2 if you're lucky! Half of the spin bikes are also broken and cannot be used during class (literally almost half).

Classes: They run the same class multiple times a day like Body Pump and run another class once a week on one day at 5: 30 AM like Body Combat. They only offer CX only twice a week. The variety is slim especially when it comes to spin - pretty much 1 instructor every single day. While she is AWESOME it would be ideal to have more than 1 teacher for every single class to offer a range of options to clients.

The biggest flaw about this place is their busted up equipment, makes me think they are cheap.

BEWARE OF MISLEADING INFORMATION! I have had a Legacy (family plan) Gold's gym membership for years. I used to be able to add and remove people from my account and pay $88 per month. Around Sept. 2018, I was wanting to remove two people and add my friend to my account. I was told they were no longer doing that and my friend had to pay an additional $37 per month. When told that, I decided to remove two people from my account so that my monthly payment would go down since there were no benefits of having a family plan. I was told by Joana that my payment would go back down. It is now Nov 2018 and I'm now getting charged $125 per month, $88 for my (family plan) and $37 for my friend I added. When i asked about it, they mentioned one of the persons had not been removed and asked if I had a copy of the signed cancellation request. Lucky for me, I did. Once I found it, I drove back and spoke to Glen the assistance GM who brushed me off earlier and asked to bring the signed form. After reviewing the documents, he tells me that because I have a family plan, removing the person would only free up a slot and would not reduce my monthly payments which is the complete opposite of what they told me at the beginning. When questioned further, Glen (the assistant GM) said I was being rude and could not assist me further. This gym is doing something fishy and their assistant GM, Glen, is incapable of handling basic customer concerns such as billing issues. I've attached a cancellation request that was done 9/9/18 and that person is still on my account as of 11/18/2018. BEWARE!

I go during busy times, usually, and rarely have to wait. People are very helpful, and it's not generally a messy gym. Not the greatest surplus of equipment, but there's something for every workout I try.

About 20% of the equipment is in what I would call 'useable, but not functioning properly' condition. For example, two exercise bikes click loudly while being peddled. You can do cardio on them, but they will make an annoyingly loud sound and stick at certain points providing uneven resistance throughout each revolution.

Staff is not receptive to these complaints. I'm not sure they even report the malfunctioning equipment.

For the price, there are other gyms with functioning equipment, better hours and better amenities. The only thing Gold's has in its favor, is the abundance of locations across Austin.

This convenience is lost however if the equipment I have paid to use is in a constant state of disrepair.

Love this gym. Free weights, machines, treadmills, a cardio gym, classes, a pool, hot tub, childcare area, and sauna all for a really fair price.

Awesome gym, very clean, and friendly staff. My friend and I enjoy working out here. Just wish they had longer hours till 2 am or so, are y’all hiring? I’d work here! Just note, most gyms do require a contract to make you commit to working out, no one judges you here, just put your headphones in and workout! Listen to your favorite music or the Bible it doesn’t matter. You get what you pay for, clean spa and pool, huge selection of weights and cardio equipment but be aware after a full day’s use the gym will need cleaning.

Not like planet fitness where they judge bigger guys for lifting more than others, that’s just gainz and the whole point of working out. Note I’ve been called “lunk” so I know from experience.

Golds Gym does not take care of the GGX instructors. They offer no support in any way. The mic in the main studio at Anderson Arbor has been broken for about a month now. The instructors have brought this to management, the members have brought this to management and nothing to our knowledge has been done. This issue was brought to the attention of Glen the Assistant GM a month ago. He is WORTHLESS and has done NOTHING to offer support or help in any way to facilitate a solution. He does not respond to emails and has personally given us members a blow off response. We know he is aware of the issue and has done nothing. He gives excuses and is not professional in his demeanor. It is extremely challenging to teach without a mic to a huge group of people while conducting a high intense cardio class for 55 minutes. We also understand there is also a heat element on the instructor stage that makes them feel like they are in a rotisserie oven. No air flow no matter how cold the room is or how fast the fans run. They sometimes feel lightheaded and are unjustly exhausted after class. WE as MEMBERS support our instructors as this is WHY WE JOINED! From our understanding they are losing instructors left and right - GREAT instructors due to this lack of support! DO SOMETHING before we lose another round of instructors. We pay good money to be members here and expect better treatment of your employees. What say you about a solution to this problem! Paying members want to know as WE support our instructors!

Management here is the worst. I came to talk to them about my membership cancelation. This “manager” that i talked to was completely rude to me and was being such a racist. He acted like i was dumb. I cannot believe they let people like that run the place. I am very disappointed with the management. I would not recommend gold’s gym for anyone! Dont come here! There are better places to work out. By the way, my problem was not resolved. I have to go to another location to talk to another manager because this guy was so rude.
