Goode Company BBQ reviews
14Delicious "top meat". Potato salad is coming back around. I like the pinto's and the Austin baked beans. Chocolate pie *could* be better. Or my tastes have changed, become jaded. (However, the seemingly identical pie at Goode Company Seafood was, inexplicably, still awesome. Go figure.)
Don’t get anything but the fatty brisket. Incredible. The lean brisket is so dry. Chicken dry. Ribs below average. Jambalaya side was ok. Eh.
They have very good BBQ but I can't give them 5 stars when my favorite BBQ comes from another place.
Pretty good food, brisket was a little tough.
Ribs were crunchy, think it was the burnt end.
The Mac & Cheese was Excellent.
Good Tea.
Great food a little pricey but what isn't these days still same quality I've been enjoying since they came to town on Kirby drive
Although it's getting a little pricey, Goode Company BBQ is always the place to go to satisfy your craving for BBQ. In addition to the variety of meats, Goode Company also has some great sides and of course amazing pecan pie! All that served up by some of the friendliest people around
Apparently not checking in with the hostess is not only not necessary, but rewarded.
I went in requesting a booth from the hostess because I wanted a booth, not a table. According to the hostess, there was a booth available but it turns out the single person at the booth had sat down there without checking with the hostess.
No problem, the restaurant was only 1/4 full so I figured a booth would be made available. Not the case at all and was taken to a table. I reiterated that I wanted a booth and was denied.
No big deal so I went to another restaurant a couple of blocks away.
Will I be back? Sure, the service by the waitstaff is usually acceptable. And the food very good.
But this is my second time having issues with the host for seating so Goode will now be second or third choice. A shame since I walk over several times a month for drinks and a meal and the convenience couldn’t be beat.
PRO'S: Goode Company BBQ is a real winner for their "dinner package for six" including all condiments (even utensils). Great brisket, ribs, sausage & smoked turkey gives you lots of choices. Their pecan pie is outstanding!
CON'S: None
SUMMARY: Goode Company BBQ is one of our go-to BBQ spots in a town with 100+ BBQ choices.
Folks if you like cold, bland barbecue brisket and even colder tasteless mac and cheese, nasty jambalaya, and a stale, hard chocolate chip cookie. This is the place for you. If you like being charged a ridiculous amount of 30 bucks for this plate of garbage, this place is for you. And finally after forcing yourself to eat this slop because your lunch break ends in twenty minutes. Later that day you end up with the worst stomach ache and diarrhea you've ever experienced in your life. This place is for you! Never again worst barbecue joint in town. EAT THERE AT YOUR OWN RISK!
This is one of our go-to BBQ spots. The food is always on point, delicious brisket, chicken and ribs. We love all the sides and visit at least once a month with family. Highly recommended!
Food was nasty. Mediocre. Only thing I enjoyed was the green beans, but their food is not worth the price. Way better BBQ places out there. I'll try Killeen. Anything gotta be better than this.
The bbq was good. The sides were fantastic, and the service was great! It is a unique restaurant with a selection bar to pick your food, kitchen is open to view and has a western rustic theme. I would go back.
Working nearby, I've always wanted to come try this BBQ place. Immediately walking up to it: You get a feel for older country feel, which puts you in the BBQ mood. When you walk in, all the Southern Western style decor is right in your face, and I loved it.
Most of the service is self-serve besides the food choices. I went with a simple 2 meat plattet: Brisket and Smoked Chicken with a side of Mac N Cheese and Potato Salad. I thought the Jalapeño bread could have been better if buttered and lightly warm!
I enjoyed most of my food here. My only con was that I had to go back up and ask for Fattier Brisket after I requested it the first time around.
I definitely recommend anyone nearby come pay a visit. They are worth the visit!
I keep driving by and just had to give Goode Company BBQ a taste. I had the 3 meat plate and sides that included:
Pork ribs, brisket, chezk sausage, Mac-n-cheese, and green beans. Followed with a Saint Arnold’s root beer and pecan pie.
Tasty BBQ and sides and it was a good choice to stop by for lunch. I’d definitely recommend this place if you are in the area.
The best part is they play classic country in the background.
