Goodwill Central Texas - Oak Hill Store reviews
17Store well kept up, but many items I found priced over retail. Wanted 4 things, but they were all too expensive, left empty handed.
My sister and I are die hard thrift shoppers. We have visited every Goodwill as well as many other mom and pop thrift stores in the Austin area. The Oak Hill Goodwill is always our 'go to' thrift store in Austin. If we are anywhere close, it is always going to be a stop for us. The employees are always courteous and customer oriented The merchandise is constantly being refreshed and we never fail to find something of value to make our trip worthwhile. Thank you for your great customer service and please keep up the good work and positive attitude!
Love this GW! I have purchased 5-10 items of women's clothing the last three times I've been in the store - amazing to have found that many great items on each visit! Staff are super friendly and helpful. I have bought some housewares as well and have always been pleased.
It is true that you generally need to go up to the cash registers to get someone to open a dressing room for you, but once you do, someone immediately and happily assists.
I have discovered holes in two of the shirts that I've purchased. I returned one of them because I caught it right away and it had 5 holes. Not sure how it missed my attention while trying on, or that of the staff while processing and tagging? I do think that the lighting in the dressing rooms is rather poor.
The only other recommendation I have for GM is to ensure that all dressing rooms have adequate fixtures for hangers. Several of the rooms have fixtures missing (you can see where they were previously were on the walls; drywall not repaired). It would be nice to hang all one's items to try on rather than piling them up on the bench in the dressing room.
Minor suggestions for improvement to an overall fantastic store!
Out of all the Goodwill's I have been to, this one tops the list. The staff here are so positive, friendly and accommodating. They have a very large selection that's always organized neatly and categorized appropriately to sections. If your not into browsing the store you should definitely check out the in store auction they hold every Saturday. Some of the best items come thru this Auction and you don't want to miss out. Oh and while your in there ask for the GM Naomi. She's my favorite
This location is bright and organized, clean and friendly. It’s a favorite on my weekly thrifting treasure hunt. Naomi and Marvin are standout staff and are on top of making this store a great shopping experience! Five stars
Great staff at this store! Super courteous, friendly, and above-all- else; happy. Will always go to this Good Will.
Place was reasonable on their prices and it was clean for the most part but there was a guy cleaning while I was there so it's probably cleaner usually
Good selection of items very reasonable pricing great friendly enthusiastic staff store could use better organization on items on aisles. Good selection of different books for the whole family. Great pricing on all books.
Not much on the selection for the xxL man shirt and sweat wise, but what they have is what they get so I get it. Organized, plenty of cool stuff, and friendly staff. Large store plenty of stuff to rummage thru. Now they have a sell that's color coded. Something to look into bargain shoppers
Great assortment of items. Good prices! I have basically restocked my entire house, from Goodwill; after moving back here and loosing everything to the 2 hurricanes in Puerto Rico.
They have a lot of good stuff. Wide selection of items. The employees were helpful and attentive. (I must admit I am an employee of Goodwill, but NOT at this store. I will say that I can only hope that customers to the store I work at feel the same way as I did during my visit here!)
Was to big to keep up with the crowd. It was Halloween so I'm not going to make it sound to bad. They had tons of killer costumes.
Love Goodwill. This one is one if the bigger stores and has a lot of different items, but it's not quite as well organized as some others.
Good place to go if you are bored. Found an italian playter for 5 dollars. The wife thinks I paid 150.
Goodwills in Austin are constantly changing. They are always a new and fun experience. Goodwills help me afford staying in Austin.
Awesome location. We find so much cool stuff here and it's very easy to donate to. The employees are all very nice and helpful. The Manger is the best! Returns were hassel free with my receipt. Excellent store.
It's okay. The bathrooms are hideous. There has seriously been the same fecal matter splashed on the wall for about a year now. There's always feces splattered all over the toilets and the one stall door is so loud and difficult to even open it hurts my ears, it's obnoxious. Management is not friendly. We go here very regularly and for some reason they decided to put the toys right in front of where they push they're huge carts into he back room. And it never fails they all glare at my kids and even us if we're looking at the toys like we made the mess or they walk by pushing and shoving toys out of the way especially with one lady kicking thing out of the way like she's mad at us. And we just walked over there. It's so unprofessional and seriously rude, never makes me feel welcome. There's that same lady there usually upfront and the only time she made us feel welcome was AFTER she insisted very nastily something was going to be a certain price like we we did something wrong and my husband guess it was cheaper while we got a price check (he ended up being right) and then she rang it up the price she thought it should have been on accident and she spent the next 5minutes apologizing and laughing and acting nice for the first time in probably the 3 1/2 years I've been going there. It's usually just not a very pleasant goodwill to go to. Oh and they make it difficult to even try on clothes because no one is ever there to ask to open the doors.
