Goodwill Houston Select Stores reviews
19This store is overpriced. Goodwills are individually owned so prices vary by store, but this store specifically is expensive. $5.99 (no name brand, polyester) T shirts, and $5+ home decor.it adds up quick. Wouldn't recommend especially for the small selections.
The most unorganized goodwill I have ever been to. I am an avid goodwill shopper and have been to stores all across the country. Short sleeved Shirts mixed with shorts mixed with jeans mixed with you name it. Clothing scattered all over the floor.
Houston FM529 store I went there today Wednesday The person at counter charged me 5.99 plus tax for a blouse with a orange color tie (the color of the week) I thought the blouses were supposed to cost 3.99 before the discount color.today is senior day I am a senior too but that did not count
I questioned the clerk but he did not care I did not buy it
Many old goodies are there. Inside of the store is nice and bright and the signs for men and women are easily visible! Fun to dig out quality stuff! Come by and enjoy it or donate your stuffs!:) cheers
We come here often for the special day savings and have always found new to gently used quality clothes and shoes. Electronics and furniture are always a great find anytime as well. The staff works hard to keep it clean and take pride in making the store ready for big sale days. Despite customers regularly trashing the dressing rooms, home goods areas, and ALWAYS opening packaged items and tossing it around, the employees do their best to keep it neat and it shows. By far one of the better locations! - A+!
This store is a mess. There are tripping hazards everywhere, The far right corner of the store has raw intermittent sewer fumes coming up from the drains. The bathrooms are filthy and the "bathroom check" sheet is missing with the plastic holder in tatters. The pics show the result It's a good place to get hurt or sick. On top of that the prices have gone way up.
There was one person at the cash register and one person in line. My daughter asked if they had another cashier after ten minutes. The lady came up there to watch the line grow. She told my daughter no. There was no politeness about it. No I sorry but that is my only cashier. After six more min in line another cashier showed up and we finall got out.
I know the purpose of Goodwill is job training but I honestly question what kind of jobs they're training for when you go in and they're a complete mess! It's not just this location either. The prices keep going up and stores are getting dirtier and messier. Now they did away with 2 colors on sale; so you don't get potentially good deals. I go in to shop books for adults and kids plus videos for the kids. It was precarious attempting to look at books at this location! Watch your head came to mind
Good stuff but the staff is ridiculously rude. Ive been to many goodwills where the staff isnt always the friendliest but these people are exceptionally rude.
This place is always fully stocked. Compared to the other goodwill, they always have a big selection. You will find something you like or want. I recommend this place to anyone that like to shop this type of market. Keep up the good work guys. You guys a making five star greatness happen. See you soon
The Houston Area Goodwill President clears $319,855 / year in salary (check them out on Charity Navigator) while they use loopholes to pay disabled people less than minimum wage. Check out the 20/20 expose on the National Goodwill organization. And all of this happens when they incur almost NO overhead for their products because everything is donated.
The people they're stiffing with sub-minimum wage pay are some of the very people they're supposed to be helping.
At the end of the day, do the morally right thing. There are better organizations to give to, in my opinion.
The staff is very nice and considering the large quantities of donations that get dropped off there they seem pretty well organized.
Most goodwill store are a little trashy but the bathrooms at this location is unsanitary! I could smell a strong odor of urine when I opened the door. It appears from the "stains" in the urinals and toilets that it had not been cleaned in MONTHS!
They did the wrong operation even though I had a tax document.employees who do not know their jobs.very bad
Well, seems to be official: books are way cheaper online! And maybe it is just me but store is a bit messy and, on average, about 30-40% overpriced compared to other stores!
I can always find some deals, but they tend to try to get pricey on brand names which all items are Donated.
While at goodwill today an employee was taking every single item that had the clearance colored tag from the racks and taking them to the back! This is NOT the first time I've seen them do this! Shame on you goodwill im pretty sure that should be illegal. Don't advertsize a sale then remove everything that would have been on sale! So dissapointing
Everything is OVERPRICED. Paperback books for $5.99; old CD's for $2.99. The store is, however, very well organized and clean.
Price getting way too high.this is not fear you are getting the products free almost and you sell it as new am going to stop your location from now on.
