Grand Lux Cafe, Houston TX

Nice atmosphere. Ordered the beignets.there was a delay.the oil wasn't heating up properly.finally got the order after about 45 mins later. It smelled like the cooking grease was old.
Coffee was good. Tea was good.
The chicken swiss melt sandwich was ok. The parmesan crusted bread was super hard. I ate it without the bread. The french fries also smelled like old cooking grease. It tried to just enjoy the lunch but at the same time felt disappointed.

I would like to say we had a wonderful first time here. However, upon arrival heading to the bathroom there were at least seven 20 year olds standing in the hallways taking pictures for social media. The bathrooms were overflowing with trash tampons and the stalls were not stocked with toilet paper. I gave it a pass and sat at the bar to order. It took longer than 2 minutes for us to place an order. When we received the plates and silverware they were greasy and dirty. As much as the menu sold us the quality of the facility is subpar.

Food was great as always, but service was not there this time. If the waiter could say "what yall want? " I think he would have. Granted it was closing time, but still could have been better.

Beautiful decor with ample sitting. Very pleasant and helpful staff who were always on hand to help.
Covid19 safety measures seemed to be in place with hand sanitising station's and all staff appeared to have face masks in place.
The restrooms were clean with the exception of wet floors around the sink area probably due to not so deep sinks resulting in water from faucets splashing everywhere.
There was a variety of food choices on the menu albeit a bit pricey compared to other similar places I have visited.
Food whilst flavourful could have contained more oomph as one of the pasta dishes I ordered barely had a y meat on it (I had more chicken on my transatlantic flight into houston).
The Salmon Three Ways was a disappointment as I expected a lot more flavour for the price i was paying.
I must admit that after a long flight the warm New Orleans Beignets were just yummylicious - if that is even a word -:)
All in all a good pricey night out but I am not sure if I'd visit the place for dinner again.maybe lunch who knows.

I had the salmon special- blackened. It was perfectly cooked. Frequently salmon is overcooked, but this was perfect.

I was so happy we found this place! We were starving from the flight, the wait was long but playing in the casino passed the time. The food was great for dinner and got their burgers and we went back for their breakfast buffet in the morning and it was even better! Fresh orange juice plus, they make all their food from scratch and you can taste it! Definitely try this place!

Grand Lux Cafe is like the cheese cake factory without the mall traffic. Their menu looks just like Cheese Cake Factory menu and the cheese cake taste exactly the same also. Music and Hookah would really make this place perfect.

Restaurant was pretty decent. I ordered a Salisbury steak and it wasn't wasn't i thought it was gonna be (was my first time trying a Salisbury). It was really just ground beef with gravy on it. I got tired of the taste real fast, then ordered a filet mignon (medium well) and I got exactly what I wanted, near perfection. The wait time for the food was a little long, service was alright.

The service was horrible here, first off there was hair in my friends food and it completely threw her off and she didn't even want to eat here anymore. Another friends food was cooked incorrectly and when it was time to pay they gave us the wrong receipt. We initially didn’t notice until the next morning we realized how the waiter charged increased drastically. We will not be eating here again and we highly don’t recommend you to either.

Decent food and good atmosphere. Food came out pretty fast and service was good
. I think they could do a little better in cleaning up the place, there’s mushroom looking lamp by our booth with a lot of dust on it. Not to mention our table was split in half.

Kiara I believe was our waitress name. I hope im right. She was great. 1st time here, I fell in love with the chicken rolls at first bite. My drink was great. I will be back!

This is one of the best places to take your special someone for dinner. I have never been disappointed in anything I've ordered at this location. The food is delicious and and inexpensive for what you get in my opinion. One of my 1st times going there I ordered a combination dish that was no longer on the menu this last time I went for my birthday. I asked the waitress about it and she inquired with the chef that's when I found out I could no longer get my favorite dish. The chef made up a special plate just for me and my wife for my birthday it was delicious. I took my wife to Fort Lauderdale Florida to the grand lux there and it was just as good. Great place great overall experience great atmosphere fine dining at its best

Grand lux is most definitely one of my favorites. When in the galleria you can't go wrong.but 3 stars is the max I can give due to the way my guests and I were treated by a manager and staff a bout a month ago. If you ever get the chance to explain to a repeat customer why you made the choice to hire some of the most unprofessional servers and hostesses I hope you don't. Being told not to come back because of a mask mandate.not a LAW. A mandate.is way past ridiculous. I really hope you all get all of the info next time before you offend someone that has the means to liquidate your restaurant.
But the food is good.

Table for 6 birthday lunch. Everything was good and our server was spectacular. We had not been there in over 2 years. Glad to finally get back.

The service was okay but the food wasn't very good. The best part of the whole meal was the beignets. Steaks had no flavor and the mashed potatoes could have been warmer.

We came here for my husband's bday and the food was excellent! Our server was very helpful and we had a good time.

This restaurant has really stayed nice however I do believe it may be time to update those booths.
