The people working there were good. It was the phone system that was inadequate. Calling and leaving a message meant that the message often relayed different than what you were trying to get across.

Update: 5/13/22 I return to the clinic because of the same issues headaches sinus bleeding and now random fevers. The same woman with a walking cane was rude and disrespectful. Once I saw a nurse no one addressed any of my symptoms and how to solve the issues. Seems everyone's busy typing stuff into a computer and doesn't actually communicate with the patient. It would be nice to have an American doctor at American government taxpayer dollar paid facilities.they have a law enforcement officer to enforce the mask laws that don't exist. VA clinics are a joke. I'm sure Google will hide my comments because they are not positive.

I am having issues breathing with sinus bleeding and bell's palsy. I walk in takes my temp.and forces me to wear a mask that restricts my breathing. So now I'm forced to wait outside in the cold because I can't wear a mask. What kind of world is this? This isn't how I would treat another vet. Not in a million years.

The woman at the check in with a walking cain treated me like I was disgusting. The looks on her face. Asked me my last 4 more than three times because she doesn't have the patience to wait for my response which is hindered by the Bell's Palsy. Which is why I'm here. This is why vets hate the VA.

Are social distancing floor stickers, a mask, and a table between the check in necessary? When have hospitals changed protocol over a virus that doesn't kill anyone?

I have real concerns about my headaches, blurred vision, bleeding sinuses, and they want me to construct my breathing for a conspiracy theory?

What happened to common sense?

Overall, I like going to GP VA clinic since it is more efficient than other clinics I have been to in Dallas. However, I have a complaint about mental health counselling department in this facility. I had been seeking counselling from Dr. Tasha Wellington for over a year.

She was okay in providing some concrete guidelines, however I was surprised by her dishonesty when it came to providing me service. I had to go overseas for few months. I emailed her multiple times to schedule a virtual appointment. She never responded and thus, I finally asked her to assist me in recommending another provider if she was busy. She responded and scheduled me an appointment. However, she seemed quite ticked off and spaced out during the session, and I ended the session merely after 20 minutes as I did not want to waste my night time (overseas time zone) for this useless session. During the same session, she told me that I may have to seek a new counsellor as she will be moving to Lubbock soon. I said that's fine.

After I came back to the states, I called the clinic, and asked if she had already left for Lubbock. The front desk staff told me SHE IS NOT GOING ANYWHERE and there was never a plan for her to go anywhere! I was shocked and disgusted by how someone who was employed by the federal government to assist veterans struggling with mental health can lack so much integrity and honesty. Not to mention a therapist who was supposed to guide you through your path to mental health wellbeing! Someone who cannot treat adult patients in a respectable and honest manner should not be staying in a government position serving veterans who are seeking help!

If you’re a newly transitioned veteran in need of care.this isn’t the place for for you. For over a month I was ignored, given false appointments and broken promises from my “doctors nurse” and never called back. Unfortunately, my first appointment is now rescheduled for the FOURTH time in over two months.after my initial request for medical care. What a shame this is.

Getting an appointment takes over a month, the visit feels rushed. I feel like it's a waste of time & better off just seeing my own personal doctor.

On hold for 2 hours in total an hour before they closed. It said 2 people were in front of me so I waited on hold. Then realized it stopped saying there were people ahead of me. So I guess they just left work and ended the day while not only costumers are on and have been on hold but veterans of all people. Absolutely disrespectful, I didn’t even get an f you we are closed, they just kept me on hold and left work. Pathetic. Just stealing the governments money, that’s all they care about.

I was wowwed. My 1st visit and they were great.
I arrived a little b4 0730, was screened and checked in, in under 5 min. Everyone here was friendly and courteous, in good moods (maybe TGIF), the lap people were professionally proficient and I am typing this 0840. Thats pretty darn good in my book!

Lazy staff, never answer the phone, very poor attitude. Its sad that you serve your country and you're treated poorly by those who gave nothing.

Did a walk-in visut. @1338. I was told that the doctor had no patience and I am waiting on the nurse for triage, I guess?
3 patients that were here before have been in and out and it only took 30minutes. I've been sitting here another 15 minutes and have not been called back. Another lady came in and checked in and was called back b4 ne so I'm confused. We're clearly not here for the same doting, why haven't I been called? I went back to the window clerk at 1420 and asked her how long would it be. She said the nurse was with another patient. Why look was.huh?
I was sitting here for 25 minutes and the"nurse" is with s patient, please exoskeleton to me his this works?
I finally asked a nurse from the back and was told that walk-ins are weaved in between apps. My question is.if we're seeing different doctors why do I need to be weaved in (30 minutes -2 hour).
The nurse came back and explained that I would be next and how the system worked. I won't be seeing my doctor. I'm seeing the nurse practioner and if she can't handle the issue, then you see the doctor. Wow! @
I thanked her for the intel and continued to wait. For there to be so many ppl looking for work, it amazes me how these systems put in place to "help" are under staffed and we, the veteran, /patient is left to just deal with this. It makes me sad so often that I risked my life and limb for a country that truly didn't care for its Veterans. Health, Wellness, Fitness, and Pharmaceutical are billion dollar industries and they continuously prove that they Don't give a damn.smd‍️

Called to blood pressure medicine refilled that I’ve been taking for years and before I can get it someone wants me to check in front of them on a zoom call. Ain’t got time that nonsense.

Granted I only come to the Grand Prairie clinic for lab work as it is close to home only 2 miles, as opposed to 17 miles to Dallas. But on the other hand, I am also in and out in an average of 15 minutes rather than waiting an average of 90 minutes for the over crowded, under staffed labs at the hospital.

Also parking is far more convenient

It's best to make an appointment vs walk-in. I arrived at 7: 30 when the clinic opens but the doctors do not get in until 8: 30. I waited as long as I could but it was noon and i was getting hungry. Waited 4 hours and thirty minutes and left.

I don't know why people have put in bad reviews for this Clinic. My first appointment with Dr. KIM today was scheduled for 1530, I arrived at 1430 and was taken back and seen at 1450. Dr Kim was very nice and speaks very clearly, she went over my entire medical history with me. I am glad I made the switch from Dallas VA to the Grand Prairie Clinic.

Always get seen a hour after the appointment time or later. Been siting a hour plus. Had to leave. Rather wait at the er and actually get help.

Relocated to Grand Prairie and I am pleased with the Grand Prairie VA Clinic. I've had positive experiences during my visits and two phone calls to GP VA Clinic.

The doctor and staff are knowledge, setting up appointments is also easy, and when I call the GP VA phone number it is answered by a person! This clinic helps to ensure veterans are taken care of.

I find it a bit alarming that people are saying negative things about this place or complaining about a foreign doctor. I look forward to my upcoming appointment.

The unit as a whole is a failure. It is a complete deterrent to use the VA system. Hour wait for an appointment I showed up 30 minutes in advance just to wait an hour and then be told I don’t have the problems my medical record says I have. The doctor didn’t realize he had seen me at another facility and had zero issues.

Called in to confirm they accept walk-ins, rep said yes. I went in, got called pretty quick and went thru triage check up with nurse. Dr finally made it in, he didnt look at chart, didnt ask questions to my condition and He refused to examin my medical issue. All he said was that I would have to go to Dallas VA. What a waste
