Great Plains Equipment Rental, Lubbock TX

They have lots of tools at a good price. They just don't respect reservations. Had a reservation on a concrete buggy, and i had to cancel concrete because they rented it out to another guy. After i told them, i was picking up late.

I did a Google search to try and find a Billy Goat reciprocating aerator and they’re the only ones in town that have this particular model. The customer service was great when I called to reserve the unit a week out and found out that the aerator was brand new. Guys we’re great about loading it on the truck and also when I dropped it off. The Billy Goat pulled great plugs and was much better to use then typical drum aerators. Will definitely use them again when I need to rent an aerator.

Rented a scissor lift from them. The lift was in horrible shape. Maintenance was not done on the equipment to keep it in working order. Rented a towable boom lift a few days later. The associate did not properly attach the lift to my truck so the first bump I got, the lift came unhitched and slanted into the back of my vehicle, damaging the bumper. When I got the lift to the job site, the batteries were dead because the charger wasn't working (which they knew about but still rented out the machine). They replaced the batteries but then brought out another lift and dropped it in the parking lot without even asking me if I wanted another one. Then proceeded to charge me for both lifts. I tried to drop off the lift just before 5pm but was told the store was already closed and I would have to bring it back the following morning which they charged me for. I told the employee about the trouble I had with the first lift (hydraulic leak, bad battery charger, the hitch sticking not allowing it to fasten on the ball properly) but the lift was just placed back on the line for the next customer to rent. My first day, I lost over half a days work with the lift due to the issues with the care and maintenance on the equipment, not to mention a damaged bumper. I was charged over $900 for the 2 & 1/2 days I had the lifts. Avoid this place at all cost.

As a small business owner customer service and efficiency is key! With the help of the guys up front I was able to get what I was needing to complete the job. The guys in the yard were able to make sure I was in and out in a timely manner! Great group of guys with excellent service. Looking forward to visit and rent again at Great Plains!
