Omg, this place is spectacular! Great ambiance, nice rooms, pool bar, great service, good breakfast. I could go on and on about how awesome this place is, I highly recommend for events or just a weekend getaway.

My most favorite place to stay in new Braunfels. All of the unique rooms are spectacular and my favorite that I have to stay in is the root cellar. When you come in here you feel immediately feel at home and it’s very cozy. There’s nothing like sleeping down in the cellar amongst lime stone or it’s nice and cold.

There’s also a really cool silo to stay in. They serve a big country breakfast with homemade bread and jam and vegetables from the garden on occasion. The ladies at the front that work here are so sweet. We met the owner today and she was quite lovely.

If you’re coming with kids try to get the Routelle because they will want to stay in it it’s the coolest one.

Wow! What a gem! We were just looking for a place that wasn’t a typical hotel. If you’re on the fence, hopefully this will put you over the top. The grounds are perfect and rooms/buildings are spread out enough where you’re not on top of each other. The pool is just as great as the pictures make it look. The two/three days we were there, we were the only ones in the pool! Loved the place so much, we stayed another night!
The breakfast was top notch. Each morning had the norm…bacon and eggs, but also each day had something different. One morning was pancakes and next quiche!
Will definitely be back! Thank you!

The staff and service is 5+ stars! The resort pool is such a great addition and makes for an even better stay! The Meriweather Suite was cozy and super comfortable! Cannot wait to come back!

This was a great experience away from home. Beautiful area and the homemade breakfast is one of the best meals I've come across. Highly recommended would stay here again!

We stayed in the Judge's Chamber. 2 rooms, 1 queen bed, 2 twin beds. Queen in back room with large double sink bathroom with shower/jucuzzi tub. Twin beds are in entry room with front door; configured for sitting on them like couches. Mini bar in front room with small microwave, fridge and coffee maker. Clean, no smells, plenty of towels, blankets, and coffee. Central heat and air. Large front porch with chairs and lights. We sat on porch and took pictures on swing and stairs. Ample parking. Quiet even though on main street.

Property kept very clean and trimmed. Trees, flower beds, and yard art of antique farm equipment. Deer in yard. Multiple cabins spaced nicely apart for privacy.

Down the street from Gruene main street with shops and restaurants. Could walk, probably 15 minutes.

Husband booked this place all on his own. It was absolutely perfect. We loved the porch swing outside our room and watching the deer come around at dark. Definitely a cool place to stay & will try to stay here any time we are in town.
Close proximity to everything in NB or Gruene. Comfy beds. Very clean. Great breakfast. && the nicest staff ever.

We've stayed here twice (April 2018 and December 2019) and there was a noticeable downgrade in the experience since the original owners sold it between our two trips.

Pros: Donna at the front desk is the heart and soul of this place and the new owners are VERY lucky to have her warmth and hospitality. Both times she treated us like family and was the main redemptive highlight of our most recent stay.

Also, The Silo: Both times we stayed at this unique property. Our young children loved telling family and friends about it and my husband and I appreciated that it's a standalone unit away from any potential noise at the Tavern; we didn't need to worry about tiptoeing around neighbors or getting woken up by them, and we enjoyed having our own porch space.

Lastly, the breakfast buffet was decent: fresh fruit, good coffee, Continental options. Limited, but what was served was pretty good and the staff was friendly.

CONS: The new owners seem to be moving the place in a direction away from family-friendliness. They discontinued Pack n Play rentals so we had to buy one for our infant son. They also don't have highchairs in the breakfast room.

There is no basic service to the rooms. Any fresh towels, sheets or handling of trash falls on the guest - either navigating to the main office to ask for more or to drop off the trash. The new owners couch this under environmental-friendliness but it's a cost-saving measure that comes at the cost of a relaxing stay. If they were truly motivated by environmentalism, there would be recycling bins in the rooms and throughout the Inn's campus. There are none. Also, there would be towels and flatware/plates available to use in the kitchenettes. Instead there are paper towels, and if you're lucky, single-use plastic or styrofoam plates left from the previous guest.

While the location is convenient to exploring Gruene and New Braunfels and the different lodging options seemingly attractive, the downgraded experience and extra hassle are not worth the lower cost. Perhaps if young children weren't in tow and we weren't looking to relax, we might not mind the extra hurdles, but having stayed there before the property sale and after, the new owners have a ways to go before recapturing the charm that was organic to the place in 2018.

To the new owners: please don't greenwash your motivations when the absence of truly green options tip your hand as being cheap rather than environmentally conscious.
