Gulf Coast Kartway reviews
11Practically a cult at this track. Raced here as my home track for 20 years, but don’t plan on giving them any business anytime soon. They do what they can to keep member drivers paying guest driver prices. No one goes t spectate because on top of charging 3x the entry fee of a car race, for drivers, they charge spectators, which mind you are mainly just family members. If you aren’t in good with the board members or title sponsor (s) you’re pretty much SOL in terms of a decent racing experience. Considering the costs, the facility is in need of massive upgrades and updating. Also, avoid any track-side support that is offered before doing your research. As a driver, go to SpeedSportz. As a spectator, you can race rental karts while you watch the race karts on a proper, technical, and fast track, SpeedSportz.
Been here twice & if they want to host regional races they need to expand parking. Especially for those that want to bring RV & stay at track. Track could use resurfacing as well.
Even if you aren’t a Karter, you can see some fast Kart racing here, and the Kid Karts are so fun to watch. It’s well worth the $5 for the whole day. You can wander around the paddock, see all the karts, and talk to all the drivers.
Been here once to watch a friend race. Nice little track. Fun to watch and has a little stand which is covered from the sun which is great for butt fk tx hells heat.
Around $300 a year to ride your mini almost any time you want. What a deal. Not a high speed track for a bike but still a lot if fun and challenge.
A great cornerstone to the Houston community allowing families to grow together in competition. It has been around for, I think, over 30 years. Kart racing and motorcycle racing are great to watch and participate. The new awning over the pits make for a much more comfortable race in the Texas heat.
Classic track that has kept houston karting alive.if it wasnt for gcki we wouldnt have a karting scene.
Classic track, kept karting alive in Houston for many years, club operated and run by nice people.get involved
Gulf Coast Karters, Inc.is an excellent karting club located approx 30 miles west of Downtown Houston. The track is owned by the membership and dues are $250 per year plus a $75 work assessment for all members. A combination to the gate comes standard with all memberships. The track is asphalt and 25 feet wide and 7 tenths of a miles long. 18 races are sanctioned per year and divided into three series, Spring Series, Summer Series and Fall Series. The track and facilities are first class with power available in the pits, concrete pit runners for the racers, and a clubhouse with bathrooms and showers. All timing is electronic and race results are published after each race. This is Houstons most affordable wheel to wheel racing venue.
If you live in the Katy area GCKI is a fantastic place to kart and ride mini supermotos. A little off the beaten path in the coutryside, but easy to get to. Glad to have a karting complex as nice as this in the Houston area.
This place was great; however, parking stinks. The Go-kart experience was a blast ($8/ride). Good selection of games from billiards, to classics, to new generation games. Staff was nice and hooked us up with two free waters after mini golf. Highly recommend it.
