Halston Apartments reviews
20Since living in these apartments I’ve always had the best experience. If I ever need help I really recommend asking for sally the apartment agent she will make your life easier!
Mrs Sally in the office is awesome. She really does enjoy and loves her job and it shows. She is someone Halston should be proud of having her as an employee.my apartment was ready to move in on the date she said and very nice. I really look forward to being a resident here. Thank you
Main lobby door doesn’t lock which is not safe, anyone can go in and break into apartments.also the back doors people leave them unlock when they go walk their dogs. (Building 3) maybe management should send out a notice… also the elevator has been broken over 3 months which is an inconvenience to handicapped people and people that live in the 3rd floor that bring groceries. It’s insane that there is no update on the elevator situation. I’m fed up us in building 3 pay more than some other people because it’s supposed to be a new building but there’s so many issues that they won’t even address or have an update on. Before you move in this property think about it twice. ALSO THEY broke into my car and I pay for garage spot every month but it is not safe at all.
The management at this place will not take care of you. They are negligent, greedy, unprofessional, and bordering on illegal housing practices. When your equipment malfunctions, and someone has renters insurance, it is management's responsibility to help remedy the situation. They will do everything in their power to shift blame, including trying to force you to sign paperwork opting them out of responsibility. You should be ashamed.
The roach infestations in this place are next level. And while I was helping my friend move, TWO DIFFERENT people stopped us to warn of shady practices by management, car break ins, and apartment break ins- the latter always suspiciously missing any forced entry- just missing items from their homes. We were told if we didn't have cameras, now is the time to get them for inside and outside of the apartment.
These apartments claim to have security patrol. But last night 09/04/23 i witnessed 5 teenagers steal 2 vehicles from the garages. I called the cops 4 times and never didn’t show up until the next day. Where is our patrol? Two innocent resident cars were stolen. What’s the point in paying extra for a garage parking spot if the garage doors don’t close? They’ve been broken for over 3 months. Which made it much easier for those kids to steal these cars. Very disappointed in these apartments for not making our living situation more secure.
The apartment is very nice and it was for that reason that we chose it but it has been a complete disappointment, the day they showed it to us we did notice that there were cockroaches but at the reception they told us that it was normal since they had fumigated and that they would do it again about three times more and that we shouldn't worry that it would be clean when we moved, but it wasn't like that. The day they handed us the keys it was still just as dirty as the first time we saw it, they hadn't done anything and the cockroaches were still there, we couldn't move Until three days later due to this situation, despite the fact that we had already paid for everything and that it was supposed to be ready. After moving, the situation with the cockroaches remains the same, no matter how much we do, it does not improve, especially in the kitchen, the situation is critical and quite unpleasant. We have talked about this situation at the reception more than once and they have only ordered to fumigate and in a minimal way, it has not solved ANYTHING, for the price that the apartment has it is not worth it at all, I do not recommend it.
Update!
It is unfortunate that the owners response to my review is that I am at the wrong property. I was not wrong and you know it since the office contacted my mother the day after I posted my comment. I stand by everything I said in my previous review.
I actually loved the apartments and it is closer to my daughter's school, but there is one issue the hallways always small like a dirty dog
Autumn was my leasing agent. She was very helpful in locking in an apartment early July 2023. Moved in as scheduled 8/3/2023 into a newly renovated 1 bdrm apartment. The apartment looks great, everything is working, and the community staff (Ms. Morrison, Ms. P Garcia, Ms. S Garcia) has been great as well. I recommend Halston Apartments for a place to call home.
If I could give it 0 stars, I would. I have been living here for almost 2 years and my apartment smelled of dog urine the first day I moved in. I had to call them nonstop or go into the office when I could to get them to change the carpet because cleaning it did not work. There is always something wrong with my air, electrical shortages, and roaches! I just started experiencing roaches in my apartment but I always see random roaches in the hallways or stairwells and this is ridiculous. They've had someone come out to spray my apartment and they said someone comes to spray throughout the buildings weekly but I'm not too sure about that because it is still an issue. The trash room is always overflowing, parking is scarce, and this is ridiculous for the price I pay. Do not move here! Please don't.
Awesome staff. They were very helpful with getting me moved in and answered all questions. Sally, Perla and Lashaye. Thank you
Perla was awesome! I appreciate her so much for helping me find a unit, she was very sweet and professional. I totally recommend her if you're needing assistance on finding a new home.
I started the application process with this complex about a month ago. I received an email stating they needed more information to process my application. I took it upon myself to examine the property. The trash shoots and hallways smelled of dog urine along with roaches. I also took a look into the crime report in the area break-ins, along with robberies. This isn’t an area or complex I would enjoy calling home. Fast forward three weeks later an debt collector attempting to collect an processing fee of $300 when I withdrew my application. Don’t move here it’s clearly some sort of scam going on. I will be following up with BBB regarding this issue.
I have been living here for 6 months, and here is my honest review.
Cons:
The parking spaces here could be bigger. You'll likely take two parking spots if you have a big truck. Tenants here don't care about how they park, so this brings issues to finding parking spots when you come home late at night. The complex had the chance to fix the parking spaces when they repainted the parking lines back in March/April, but they ended up doing the same parking spot lines.
Next will be the poop everywhere. Now I know this is not the apartment complex's fault, but the tenants here refuse to pick up their dog's poop. Walking my dogs out at night has been a struggle since so many big dog poops are hidden everywhere.
The gate is always open. To remind you all, this is a gated community. It's been months since the gate has been wide open, and still hasn't been fixed. Having the gates opened in a gated community serves no purpose considering there have been many criminal activities around the area.
Packages being stolen. Even having a parcel mail room where it's supposed to guarantee your mail or packages don't get stolen, they are still being stolen. Some carriers leave the boxes in the leasing office, where anyone can access and steal your package. I've had 2 packages already stolen.
Pros:
The maintenance workers and leasing office employees have been highly professional and responsive in resolving issues when there's one. Work orders are getting fixed on time when the leasing office gets notified.
The cleaning employees do a great job cleaning the hallways every Monday.
The apartment complex and its employees have been good. It's mostly the tenants here who are ruining the complex itself. Some have no respect for parking their cars correctly, some leave their clothes in the laundry room for as long as 2 days, and some don't pick up their dog's poop. The poop issue has been getting really bad lately. There's so much poop in the grass that you can't even walk in it.
I've lived at Halston for 3 years, very satisfied. Really nice community, many wonderful neighbors. The manager (Mrs LaShaye Morrison) is the glue that holds it all together. Goes out of her way to keep improving our community
Nice, clean complex, patient office staff. I wanna thank Perla Garcia for helping me get into my new place.
Thank you so much for your service.
I moved in a couple of weeks ago, I have been in and out and still haven't fully moved in but so far the service is great and Perla Garcia has been always available to provide assistance and answer my random questions. I like it and will recommend anyone looking for a new place
Tremendous work crew. Very professional in their recommendations. Pearl Garcia the best. Thank you very much for your kindness and for your service.
My son moved in and lives on 3rd floor am the elevators aren’t working. Other residents say it hasn’t been working since last weekend, which is totally unacceptable for the amount of money you pay.my son tried calling all the different phone numbers listed and of course no one answered for maintenance, office, emergency maintenance, etc.totally unacceptable and you wonder why you get bad reviews. (Moved in the end of May 2023)
So after a couple of months the elevator is STILL NOT WORKING. My son has been into the office and was told a couple of weeks ago it was going to be fixed. So what is it going to take to get this elevator fixed so that I can go visit him and actually go up to his place and see it. I am older and not about to climb multiple flights of stairs to the 3rd floor. RIDICULOUS. (July 13,2023)
I would you like to thanks Perla so much, she was so nice and kind with helping me with all the paperwork
The apartment is in good condition and service is good too
I’m goin on 2 months here now i love the atmosphere everything was new in my place the remodel in the apartments are it’s good for single or families in my eyes and PEACE
