Hampton Inn & Suites Dumas

Went to a wedding in Amarillo and stayed in this hotel for Friday and Saturday. Friendly staff. It appears they have 1 or 2 receptionists handling all concerns from the guests at any given time. My TV wasn't working, so one of the receptionists came to my room to try to help. There was nothing she could do so I wasn't able to watch anything during my leisure time. Their complimentary breakfast was very decent. They had one staff member handling the entire breakfast routine from 6 am to 10 am. The room keeping staff had everything stocked at all times, so that was excellent! I'd stay again.

Lordes (kitchen lady at breakfast area) almost yelled from kitchen to lobby (“NO DOGS! ”) at us.

Obviously we weren’t going to walk our 20 lb pup into kitchen.however dogs are allowed here. We were in lobby looking into dinning area at 1st corner table rather than here screaming in professionally with attitude. She could have politely walked up and explained there are no pups allowed. Or signs saying it would be great too. Rules are rules and understandable. Professionalism must me taught. She’s needs some guidance with customer service related tasks. Or keep her in the kitchen.

I didn’t stay here, all I can comment on is the staff, the young lady who helped me was awesome, just my experience with one member of the staff. If all members of the team are like her I certainly would recommend this establishment.

I’m a traveling lineman. Me and my crew frequently stay here.or used too. Me and my crew came to Dumas for lines and poles down. I was given rooms for $138 a night. Got receipt 2 days later and seen it went to $174 the next night. We booked out to leave but had another job come up. I called Rachel to book again and rate had went from $138 for a king, to $198 for a queen. Nice hotel, but not worth the price. I’m currently 100 feet from them in the holiday with a better room and the ac actually works for way less. Staff is friendly, they have a happy hour. But on one stay, there was a minor serving. I’m a diamond, I prefer Hilton, but I’ll never call this one again. Btw ac issues were addressed on stay. Never fixed. My service dog couldn’t even find a comfortable place but the tile

This stay was for a weekday overnight in August 2023. Overall, this Hampton property was very clean and had some pretty impressive amenities (pool with hot tub, mini gym, very well presented/spacious kitchen, and even a mini-managers reception). Our room (2x queen) was spacious and clean, with a nice bathroom (shower with tub). The breakfast was one of the best Hampton continentals that I've had, with fresh bananas and oranges, fluffy scrambled eggs, waffles, and an assortment of other breads. There was almost no road noise from the highway passing in front of the hotel (we had a east facing room, which is the highway side of the hotel).
The only reason I couldnt give this stay a 5-star was the HVAC in the room. The wall controls didnt work, so we used the controls on the window unit. The digital display showed 64F, but the room was more like 73F. We tried multiple settings to get the AC to cool the room, but to no avail. When we tried the heater setting, it smelled like something was burning. Ultimately, we set the fan to High, which started an endless 10-minutes cycle (all night) of the fan turning on (which sounded like a turbo-prop engine) and then running for 5-10 minutes before shutting off. This was very disruptive for sleeping.

Very accommodating night staff. Breakfast in the morning was pretty standard but very clean.

We had a late check in and the staff was very welcoming. The room was great, it was quiet and the beds were comfortable. We enjoyed the breakfast and our stay.

I made a reservation to this hotel. I showed up middle of the night. The lady at desk refused to give me a room and she was treating me in a racist way and telling me to leave or she was going to call the police.

CLEAN room! Thankful this king suite room was clean. The room size is nice & relaxing.

By far the friendliest, cleanest, most stylish Hampton Inn, with the best guest accommodations! Every Hampton Inn should strive to be this great! Inside & outside of hotel were impeccable. Superior staff, manager experience was outstanding! Happy hour for guests, clean & functional pool and hot tub! Gated patio off the indoor pool. This hotel puts other Hampton Inns to shame.

At 255$+taxes, I have no words…I am told summer rush… & being a Gold Member, didn’t mean a thing! I would have received better service levels as a paying customer at a smaller chain.

#EXTREMELYDISAPPOINTING

The staff was incredible. We ended up staying here last minute after a blown tire on our road trip, and Doc took care of us. He was so kind, accommodating and went more than above and beyond to help us get to the hotel and ultimately helped us get our car fixed. This place is the definition of southern hospitality. It was a blessing in one of our harder moments. Rooms were clean and I trusted this place enough to house my two small babies. Breakfast was great as well.

This is a solid place to stay if you're going through Dumas Texas.

Very clean rooms and shared spaces. Lots to do on site as well. You can go to the fitness center for a workout, the pool, hot tub, sauna, or lounge in the general area. There is also a breakfast bar and dining area for the mornings.

There is complementary beer and wine from 7: 00 to 9: 00 p.m, daily.

Dog friendly! Always important to us.

The best customer service we have received in a very long time! Doc went above and beyond, he should be training others in what customer service is. He is well mannered and polite. The hotel was very clean and Lourdes in the breakfast bar was amazing, she kept cleaning the area and made sure everything was stocked. She was communicating with guests, and being very kind.

Typical Hampton. Very comfortable, good rooms and beds. Breakfast was very good with many choices.

I just checked in and the front desk guy was not only sweet he was gorgeous lol major eye candy about time I was tired of seeing so much bugly in Dumas lol jk but for real this place pretty good and the guy Marcus was my bonus I like when I’m able to sleep so good thank you Marcus the guy from the 11pm to 7am shift if you ever in Denver stay at Hampton there they are just as nice only missing you as an employee there

Definitely not the best hilton has to offer. The rooms are fairly dated, and the walls are basically non-existent. Be ready to hear your neighbors every move and conversation. The motor in the ac unit hasnt been oiled in quite some time, causing terrible squeeking. The thermostat in our room was apparently just decoration, as it wouldnt adjust AT ALL. Everyone knows the best part of staying in a hotel, is being able to adjust the ac however you want. And last but not least, most hilton hotels honor their diamond members with extra perks.not this one. I would highly reccomend another room in town.
