Handlebar Cyclery reviews
17So thankful and appreciative of the staff dedicated to the customer here at Handlebar Cyclery. They were very patient as a walk In or roll-in technically as I biked from Stafford/Sugarland area for maintenance on my breaks. They fixed me right on up so I could keep going to work with peace of mind. Thank you everyone yall are great and will recommend all cyclists here
Great service. Yoshi was extremely helpful, and we were really satisfied with the outcome. However, the cyclery did add in some services I didn't need, which would unfortunately take away one star. Great service, and you can definitely count on them to fix your bike.
Went back. No improvement. The opposite. Used to be my go to shop! Road with the club and at that time, 3 solid mechanics. In time 2 left and 1 became part time which led to a problem, a comprehensive service by a tech, the Sr tech, who was obviously unfamiliar with Campagnolo nuance. Requested new cables. At p/u I was asked if there was a problem with the Campy Super Record Shifter (2 years old). There had never been an issue. Handlebar installed new cables and said the shifter intermittently sticks. They said they rebuilt it and it still intermittently sticks. They broke it and I was asked to cover some cost to fix or wait 90 days without while Campy decides if the issue is warranty covered? Either the shop broke it or its a warranty issue as it was working fine! Handlebar WOULD NOT STEP UP. Had to go to another shop, one that is closer and stands behind their work. I might have been more willing to indulge, but at the same time my best friend had his Campy SR crankset serviced. The chain ring screw was tightened far beyond the torque setting. Required professional service and replacement. Keep in mind my friend is an adept cyclist and mechanic. He built his bike, rebuilt his Mustang from the ground up, too. Sadly, it seems things have gone downhill at the Cyclery since Jay, store manager, left.
Read the shop's response. Half truth at best. Handlebar broke the shifter and that was only part of the issue. My bike was returned with shifter damage, the stem had a bolt stripped, the handlebars pointed downward, not in the same position which is odd given the exact fitting was done by Handlebar and on file. A $225 bill! My friends bike was returned with the crank bolt tightened to fusing. Luckily, Society fixed both bikes. NEVER return to Handlebar. NO SURPRISE the reviews on Facebook were removed as these validate multiple issues. A Colnago & Campagnolo Dealer that does not stock either!
Took my MTB bike in for a chain replacement and derailleur adjustment, turnaround was lightning fast and bike is shifting like new.
Handlebar is staffed by friendly and knowledgeable staff that are really attentive and focused on helping you find the right bike for you. They have quickly become the only shop I work with to work on my bikes even though I pass many shops on the way to them.
I came in right before close to drop off some tires to get tubes replaced for our copilot we use to pull our 2 year old, and Cameron took the time to find some cost effective tires and tubes and even stayed late to replace them on the spot and get them back to me prior to leaving. Thanks for all the help Cameron.
I was amazed by the customer service I received today. My expectations were exceeded. If you ever need a repair please check them out. They are well worth the drive. There are not enough stars to give this place.
P. S. Cameron is by far a very kind and honest person.
Excellent store, excellent selection. I purchased 3 bikes today from Jay, a Giant Defy Advanced 2 road bike, Giant Fathom mountainbike and a Norco Storm 2.2 for the little one. Having an issue with my left elbow the bikes were sized up perfectly with an adjustable riser on the Defy, which makes it fit like a glove. Thanks again, Jay!
Had a flat tire on Labor Day! They were open til 3. Got there about 2: 30. They fixed the tire, checked other stuff for a fair price and with a friendly disposition! What more could you ask! Thanks guys!
THE place to get your cycles tuned. They are true professionals, very courteous and truly look at customers safety.
Awesome place, great people and you get taken care of really well here. We love our bikes!
Friendly and extremely knowledgeable staff. The shop is clean, organized and laid out nicely. This is the place to go for bikes, parts and maintenance. Don’t forget to ask about a custom build on a titanium bike, the absolute best!
Extremely professional, reliable, and friendly bike service and shop. I always bring my bikes here. ALWAYS ask for Cameron or Richard they do AWESOME work.
First visit was helped by Tommy. Fixed a component that fell off my bike free of charge. Very friendly and helpful.
Second visit was helped by Joshi. Friendly and knowledgeable. Helped get me a quote on what to fix on my bike and explained a lot to me.
Place is a great business. Will be back to get my brakes replaced.
Don’t let anyone tell you the local bike shop is dead. Handlebar is going strong. A really nice shop, great selection of bikes and accessories but where they really stand out is in their outstanding customer service. The service shop is also top notch, I wouldn’t take my bikes anywhere else.
Highly recommended.
A big SHOUTOUT to Yoshika!
I took my 10 yr old to get her bike fixed at The Handlebar Katy location. It's a new Ozone mountain bike, l. The girls were playing and they hit the handle hard on concrete which made it go crooked I have tried tightening it and what not but nithing worked. It was sitting in the garage non functional for months. So I decided to finally take it to the experts to get it fixed.
Yoshika was super friendly and helpful and was able to fix the problem in 5mins. There is an open space in the back where she let my daughter ride for a good 10 minutes to make sure everything is working well and we were ready to go. The whole experience was such a fun and relaxed one.
I highly reccomend this place if you are looking for hassle free quick bike fix. They have got some very impressive bikes on the floor as well!
I recently bought a bike online that we had to partially assemble. My dad and I were working on it but we were super stuck with tuning the gears and wanted to make sure those were good to go before doing our final adjustments (like tightening of screws, etc). He suggested it’d be best to go to a bike store for the gears, so I found this one and we drove over and told them what was going on. Cameron did an incredible job! He went above and beyond to make sure the bike was safe and comfortable and, of course, he did it in no time compared to if my dad and I had kept trying! The staff was super kind and energetic and I feel great knowing there’s a trustworthy bike shop so close by! Great pricing and a fantastic selection of bicycles and other gear for pretty much all your cycling needs, regardless if it’s just a fun hobby or you’re serious about getting those miles in. I’ll definitely be coming back if I ever need some assistance.
