Hard Eight Barbeque reviews
21Oct 31,2021 - Great barbque! Slightly pricey. The pork ribs were well seasoned and tasted wonderful. The jalapeno sausage is the best I ever had. Can't wait to go back and have a ribeye steak.
Hard 8 in Stephenville is one of our primary go to places when we have company in town. Why? Because it's authentic Texas BBQ smoked fresh daily and always delicious. You pick your meat right off the grill, and there's always lots of helpers serving who know how to get it right. Worth the price, you won't leave wanting more, because you'll get a full helping of awesome every time.
Overrated and expensive! I understand meat prices are high but wow. My sausage was dry, and the ribs were a too firm for me, I prefer them to be tender. The sides were OK, the self serve beans were the best part of the sides and the meal. The staff was not overly friendly probably because it was a weeknight.
Great place. Pick your meats outside from the grill and smoker, then go in and get your sides and drinks. Brisket was good, and the sausage was very tasty. There sauce wasn't my favorite, but that's just a personal opinion, you might like it. Cool atmosphere, would definitely come back.
Great food, and good service. I would recommend the Brisket, but all of there meat is good. (I would skip out on the fries though, over salty and cold.)
It was pretty good but over priced. The guys outside were really nice and helpful. The girls inside left a lot to be desired.
As others have mentioned, be prepared to wait 30-45 minutes during high traffic hours. The chopped brisket was dry and flavorless (aside from a faint smoky taste) ; the jalapeño sausage was spicy and good, and the fried Okra was good as well. Cool atmosphere and friendly employees. Prices do seem a little on the steep side.
We flew in to eat at Hard Eight. Neat place but not worth it in my opinion. You stand in line to pick meats which is fine but then you have to go inside and stand in line to pick sides and pay. By the time we paid and sat down our food was cold. I also wanted to wash my hands before eating because you handle dipping spoons that everyone else has touched. But the women's bathroom only has 1 stall. A worker was in there so long I had to get someone to let me in the men's so I could wash my hands. So after waiting in line and waiting for a bathroom my $80 food was cold. And I've had better bbq for way cheaper. Sorry I wasn't impressed.
Tasted fine. Turn on your fans outside though, it's not fun to sweat during a meal and all the tables inside were occupied. Also, don't ask if I want pickles, write pickles, and then not give me pickles. It's frustrating and causes you to lose stars.
Several of us got chopped bbq and it was so full of fat we couldn't eat it one in our party sent hers back. My husband's steak wasn't cooked right and it takes forever to get through the line so by the time you get to a table your food is cold. First and last time we will be eating there. Not impressed and there is way better bbq elsewhere. Sorry not a fan
The food is great southern cooking and definitely has an atmosphere to match. The communal table sitting was also a plus that helped seperate it from other places. However your going to spend $20+ per person and probably wait 30-45 min just to get seated. For that price and wait time you normally expect a waiter and free table appetizers.
1st time in and picked out our meat. Go inside ask for 2 sandwiches for the meat to go. Waited a bit, when they called us for our to go order we thanked them and left. Got out to the car and find we have only one sandwich and sliced meat in a box. The food was good but, it was not delivered as we asked. We were just passing through.
It was Saturday; the PRCA Rodeo was going on in the Lone Star Arena. We waited in line for quite some time. It seemed like they had their brisket cooked in advance. No fat, and it was very dry. BBQ sauce just ok.
I would try them again.
Line was ridiculously long.only one person there to serve food.
An employee rudely cut in line in front of us. $103 for three meals and 4 beverages.
Save your money and go to a place much better than this irritating dump.
We got to our table pretty quickly but we was waiting on our food for 30mins they couldn’t fill our drinks. We had other people Come and they get their food before we did
Just received my order that was 42 dollars. This is the sausage we received. Dry beyond belief. We ordered two stuffed potatoes and didn’t receive the loaded ingredients. Complete waste of money. Over priced and terrible food service and quality. Will not be going back
Just a tip for any newbies like us. It was our first visit and the line was long. I ordered a steak and baked potato. (Which was brought out to us and very good). My husband ordered some meat which he was given outside and a baked potato. Unfortunately the baked potatoe was cold by the time we got through the line. So I would say always have them bring the potato out later. Other then that it was good
Top 3 BBQ in CentralTexas in my book. Pricey but damn good and if you leave hungry thats your fault. Family of 4 was $125.00. We all loves what we had and left full.
Very fatty brisket.the flies seemed to love it though.they were all over the meat at the grill station.mac n cheese was velveeta box variety.don't know where they got the awards.pitiful.just pitiful.
Drove out from Dallas chasing truck parts decided to grab an early lunch since I was here. Damn good brisket sandwich and cold beer. Might just drive out again for the great service I received from the jump.
