The food was amazing! The line was long when we arrived but moved quickly. You can smell the bbq smoke the moment you pull up. Great atmosphere with lots of home style options.

The brisket and ribs where tender and smoked perfectly. The house made bbq sauce had the perfect amount of tang. I am happy we were able to visit while in town. Definitely recommend to anyone who is a fan of bbq.

The food was good, but I wish I had known more about this place before taking the whole family. You order meat and some sides outside in the heat. They weigh your plate and then you go inside with your plate and wait in line again to order more sides. There's signs in different places so not super easy to figure prices, esp with multiple people in a family. There's more sides you can grab from mini fridges. We were asked to walk around to another line, finally our turn to pay and they asked for tip 15% or up, which is still strange to me because we carried our own trays, got our own drinks and cleaned up our own trash. We almost didn't get a seat, it's family style seating on long picnic tables but it was so full we ended up sitting facing a wall on bar stools. The food was good but not hot by the time we waited in 2 lines, found seats, then waited in line to get drinks. Also had no idea there were complimentary beans in a pot in the corner until after the meal.

This place came highly recommended by a friend (thanks Kiwanni) we're here in Texas attending Full Gospel Holy Temple Convocation and decided to get something to eat. Hmmm good! Delicious food (we tried it all) wonderful service, and a peaceful atmosphere. We will be back!

I personally love the Smokey Goodness of the food and the rustic charm of the restaurant. I hadn't thought about rating it but when I was visiting with my family in Tulsa Ok, my 22 year old niece reflected back to her visit with us about two years ago here in Texas. We often ate out but she told me that our dinner at The Hard Eight was one of her fondest memories of the visit.

alarmed by the line, as it moves fast.you order your cuts and then find a seat so the line isn't waiting for a table and moves fairly quickly.

This restaurant serves excellent BBQ, sides and dessert. We’ve been here several times with our families and friends and everything was delicious. Our personal favorites are the sausage and brisket. The chocolate pecan pie and cobblers are perfection. Thanks to their hard working pit masters, we got to enjoy every bite of our food. There is plenty of indoor seating. The bathrooms are clean and well stocked. The pricing for entrees and sides are reasonable. The customer service was very good. You and your loved ones will have a great time here. Absolutely fantastic! From the moment you arrive, it's immediately apparent you got this right place. After walking past racks of firewood and smokers you are greeted at a large grill full of delicious. Select what you want by the pound and they plate it up. Down the line more awesomeness for the plate is available for selection. Almost anything you could want for smoke house BBQ. The sweet tea is definitely a good fit. And don't forget the big pot of serve yourself beans. This is good enough to be considered a local attraction. Do yourself a favor and arrive hungry. It's going to hurt so good.

My coworker told me about this place; I'm so happy he did. Now, every time I'm working locally, I make sure to visit. Great atmosphere, friendly staff & most importantly, delicious food. Sliced brisket & a baked potato topped with some of those complimentary beans fills me up right! Thank you!

Walking in you can get overwhelmed by the amount of smoke from the grills if you have a respiratory problem smells wonderful but can have better ventilation

There's a reason everyone leaves holding to-go containers! Everything looks and smells so dang good that you will buy more than you could possibly eat! The meat is the star of the show here! The fried okra was also very yummy! Only suggestion for improvement would be to have several more choices of BBQ sauces however the two they do offer are outstanding!

Hard Eight was one of our favorite BBQ in Dallas area. The brisket was tender and juicy. The pull pork was great though we are not a fan of the sausage. The portion of the sides were prefect - not too big. The bean soup they offered was rich and really good. Try it out if you are in Dallas area.

I normally don't like BBQ, but this place has some of the best meats I've ever had the pleasure of tasting. We come back at least once every other week, sometimes more. The only bad thing is that we almost never can find seats inside, lol. Still worth braving Texas heat for!

. I love this place! My favorite place to eat when I'm visiting near Dallas. My favorites are the sweet potatoe topped with smoked brisket & all the fixings, jalapeño cream corn, corn bread & peach cobbler. The okra is sooo good too. It's seasoned, crispy and not slimy.

One of my favorite barbecue restaurants. I just love this place. Good food, good customer service, great atmosphere. It is always full of people enjoying the moment with family and friends, go with comfy clothes because it will smell at barbecue smoke.

I had no issues with this place until recently. Placed an online order but got charged twice. The website showed that my first transaction did not go through, so I switched to another credit card. But they apparently charged me from both cards, and each transaction was over 100 bucks. After noticing both banking transactions so my husband talked to the manager about this issue. They looked into it and have confirmed that they did double charged me. However, they didn't even apologize for this inconvenience issue. Please upgrade/maintain your online payment system to avoid this kind of issue. This won't cause you too much extra spending but will save your customers and keep your customers alive!

This is a must see experience that just happens to also have extraordinary BBQ meat and sides. Ordering your protein next to those active smokers is photo worthy. Once you select your protein you enter the restaurant and pick your sides and fixings.
The brisket was exceptional. Could have stood more smoke but that’s my preference.
The atmosphere was fun and inviting. Plenty of seating for an weekday lunch visit.
Certainly appreciate the jalapeños, pickles and onions as condiments. The BBQ sauce remarkable.

A must visit.
