Extremely professional and knowledgeable. Also, he took the time to show me exactly what is going on with my MRI. Even though he is a surgeon, he recommended a non surgical next step and even a non surgical second next step.

I just got off the phone with the appt lady and she seems stressed and confused about what Dr. HARI TUMU specializes in.
I specifically said. I'm coming off a 4 year case. Need new Doctor here and was referred to by Dr Peterson office whom I just called.
I'm a frontal lobe brain Injury survivor.
With spinal cord and neck Injuries. Poor representation of what's on-line.

She hung up on me. Really seemed unhelpful from the get.

Dr Tamu was very approachable and answered all of my questions fully. He didn't seem rushed and took the time to show me scans and ensure I understood. Def recommend!

Dr. Tumu gave me a new lease on life! I had severe pain that started in my lower back and traveled all the way down to my foot. I went to the Chiro regularly, did PT exercises with zero relief. Dr. Tumu is fantastic. I’ve seen a number of spinal specialists, and a few neurosurgeons and many of them don’t really listen to you, don’t answer your questions, and just rush to get you out of the office, and are even rude. Dr. Tumu is totally different, he always answers my questions, listens to me like I deserve to be heard and like he values my input, he cares about what I want. His demeanor is so refreshing, calming, and reassuring and everyone on his staff has been the same. My Gyno had back problems and Dr. Tumu performed his surgery, when he told me to see him I felt like a recommendation from another medical professional was valuable. And every time I speak to a nurse, or chiro, or another medical professional in that field and I say my doctor is Tumu, they say “ooooooh, he’s goooood. ” Knowing his colleagues respect him also means a lot. He is truly a treasure in a world of doctors who can be difficult and frustrating and unsettling.

Dr. Tumu had a calm demeanor which eased my anxieties and worry. He is super cool and a great surgeon. I would totally recommend him to someone in need.

Hari Tumu is an excellent surgeon, and very compassionate. I asked another surgeon friend to recommend the best in Austin and got his name. After multiple opinions I decided to go with Dr. Tumu. He is conservative to recommend surgery only if it's really necessary and guided me to becoming pain free after listening carefully and making recommendations. I ended up not getting surgery at his recommendation but will be his patient as long as I live here in Austin and if I ever need surgery.

Dr. Tumu is a very kind, compassionate Dr who takes time to listen. He is a surgeon but does not press surgery on you. He gave me options to try first which I appreciated. I was told by my Neurologist that he is one of the best surgeons to do neck surgery for me. His office staff is also very good.

This Specialty care office and surgeon are absolutely the best. Dr Tumu has always been concerned with my health and recovery since day one. He has been exceptional in not only my recovery but in helping me with issues outside of his Specialty. I find that to be very humbling and truly inspiring coming from a surgeon who wouldn't have to do this otherwise. He's even given me referrals to other physicians who could help me with my other health issues. He's been absolutely amazing and would recommend him to anyone.

15 years ago, I fell backwards from a 20 foot ladder while helping build the Dell Seton Childrens Hospital. I crushed 3 vertebrae. Dr Tumu fused 7 vertebrae together and I started the long road to recovery. I am now 68 years old, and I'm still a little bent, but I'm not broke. I think Dr. Tumu is probably the best spinal surgeon in Texas. I would not let anyone but him work on my back!
