Hays County Tax Office, San Marcos TX

Kudos to this office and their team for being quick and efficient with their processes! We visited to get a disability placard and there was zero wait time; we were the only ones on a Friday at 8: 30am. If you live in Buda/Kyle, I would recommend making the drive to this office rather than waiting at the Kyle location.

I’ve been there at least 10 times for title transfers and registration renewals. The longest I’ve waited to be called is probably 5 minutes. I live in Kyle and I’d much rather make the 15 minute drive south than wait over an hour at the Kyle office! Especially with a toddler in tow!

Need more people to be able to answer phones. Have been put on hold for along time then puts me to voice mail. I call again and the same man puts me on hold again. This is ridiculous.

Called and was on hold for a long time. 2 times it would finally transfer me to a human and they would immediately place me on hold without being able to say a word. Finally the third time it sent me to someone’s voicemail box. Do better!

I just had to state for the record I had the most pleasant customer assistance interaction with Terri this morning, while asking her a zillion questions about registering my vehicles currently out of state. She had great patience while helping me sort out my mess.

Actually had a really good experience here! Signage to the office is good, the lady helping me was knowledgeable and nice, and it didn't take very long at all to re-register my vehicle. Good stuff, Hays!
