HCA Houston ER 24/7

Ended up here for stomach pain. Did a CT and was diagnosed with Appendicitis. Put me in an ambulance and sent me to the hospital for surgery. I can't remember names, but the staff at HCA 24/7 were phenomenal. Every nurse or doctor I encountered were truly concerned with my care. A fabulous experience which made me worry less.

I’d give zero stars if possible because I sincerely regret going to HCA Houston ER 24/7 – Willowbrook!

The amount billed for my visit totaled $9,594.18!

My reason for going was heart palpitations. An EKG was done and blood was drawn. I was there for about an hour, most of which was spent waiting for lab results. The doctor concluded the visit by telling me “caffeine is a strong drug” (because I’d had a cup that morning like I do almost every morning) and advised me to follow-up with a cardiologist.

HCA billed $1,496.88 for the EKG. The cardiologist I followed-up with billed $60 for the EKG done there. My PCP charges $50 for an EKG.

HCA billed $2,316.60 for the exam room I was in for about an hour which had no equipment other than a bed and a vital sign monitor.

HCA billed $3,520.70 for lab work. $1,902.05 was for a comprehensive metabolic panel. My usual lab, Quest Diagnostics, bills $88.07 for that. HCA billed $784.80 for an automated complete blood count. Quest bills $45.50 for a CBC.

The physician billed $2,260.00.

I’m beyond shocked. The feeling this has left me with is worse than the heart palpitations I had that day. Had I had any idea that the amounts billed would be so exorbitant, I would have gone somewhere else.

If I could give it no stars I would first I waited 25 minutes for someone to bring me a clipboard with a paper to check in when someone other personal business was laid out in front HIPPA VIOLATION ALL OVER THE PLACE. The lab technician came handed me a clipboard after removing her gloves and failed to wash her hands. I got the heck out of there I refuse to be treated like an outcast when sick no hand washing and having another patient in front laid out for me to see was extremely unprofessional and I will be calling corporate

I arrived there a little after 9pm after I had injured my thumb with an electric chain saw. I was taken to the back immediately where I was looked after by the nurse before the doctor looked at it. I got two stitches and X-ray taken (don't know why) but was in and out in about an hour and 30 mins. It probably would have taken a lot longer had I gone to the Hospital to get my thumb treated.

I tried calling before driving to the HCA Emergency Care facility nobody answered. This was not a emergency our doctor had ordered Chest XRAY. When we walked in the place was empty eventually some did come out and told us to have a seat. After 30 minutes we finally got admitted Terrible Service. I would never be back.

Good attention from the nurses, the doctor had an unpleasant experience, she did not show up, she did not report the procedure and she was treating a 6-year-old boy, she did not ask for authorization, impolite, the worst thing in the hospital.

I was greeted and treated with such kindness and compassion. I would definitely come here again.

Don't even think about going to this place, my nephew went last night on February 21 and the attention was terrible, I would not recommend it even to my worst enemy, the person who served him was not gentle even because he was a 5-year-old child. It was a nightmare for my family to take the child to this site.

We brought our 5 year old daughter in last night for a high fever and I just wanted to extend a very big thank you to everyone who attended to us! Dr Meyers was the warmest, most kind doctor I’ve ever met and all of the nurses were so wonderful with our daughter. We are so thankful her fever is already down this morning. Best hospital/urgent care experience we’ve ever had. THANK YOU!

***STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! This place doesn't even deserve the 1 star I gave it. My doctor tried calling in an emergency for me and nobody answered the phone. I decided to go there directly and when I went in, it was a ghost town in there. Nobody was at the front desk and we had to walk in further asking if anyone was there. Finally, someone came out and didn't even greet us. She asked why we were there and why we didn't just go straight to a hospital. I then proceeded to ask how much the visit would be with my insurance and the woman said, " in the thousands, like over 3k without imaging. " We left as it was obvious she was bothered I even came in to the building. It was the worst experience ever.
