Heart of Texas Grill reviews
15Harley was our waitress and she knew the answer to all my questions and says the manager is a bully (jokingly) My kinda place. You'll benefit by trying at least once. Ask for Harley
Visiting the area and food options were limited. We were glad we stumbled upon this place.
Food was delicious and the portions were huge. We had the chicken fried steak - which was cooked to perfection, the texmex burger, and a kids cheese burger. We had so much food, we couldn't finish our meals.
The young girl who was our waitress was very attentive. Overall a great place to grab a bite to eat.
We were driving through on a road trip and wanted to find somewhere local to eat. Amazing food, great atmosphere and our waitress was THE best. We will definitely be making a trip back to eat again.
Love this place, great food and friendly staff. A little hidden gem, go if your in the area!
Great Service! Their food is so good. Deluxe Nachos to, gumbo, burgers, fried large shrimp, huge portions. Chicken fried steak is Superb! Ribs are spot on! They only have beer wine and One Great Tasting Margareta!
Only negative thing is they close sometimes 8 or 9pm when I just want to eat, drink and hang out for a bit it's closing time. So Bring the family and come out Specials are Friday and Saturday nights!
More the Marrier!
The long wait was a disappointment. I came in had a cup of coffee and placed 2 orders to go. I got home to eat with the wife and there's only one order (grilled shrimp) it was a terrible sight, the 6 shrimp laying there in disarray all alone and 3 hush puppies in the corner and thats it. She asked me what sides we would like we chose coleslaw and a cup of gumbo. They sold me a cup of gumbo. I was so disappointed, I didn't dare go back. Those that know me know I may have been jailed going back up there.
What a shame Mark
3rd time does the charm! Still with their great food, clean and friendly atmosphere. I love this place.
Marsha Kaye and I enjoyed a late lunch yesterday at the Heart of Texas Grill. The Swiss mushroom burger was awesome and huge. Needless to say I had the leftover for a late snack.
Marsha Kaye had the grilled shrimp basket. There was enough food for 2 people.
The food was absolutely wonderful and the staff was super attentive.
CLOSED! H. O. T. Grill is now open in this location.
We eat at Heart of Texas Grill frequently! They have a wonderful fresh salad bar, a delicious grilled chicken breast, and great burgers!
First time to stop in since they reopened. Easy seating at booth or table on a Tuesday evening. The burger bar and salad bar were both hygienic, varied, and well-stocked. Their take on Mexican-style tortilla soup was new to me, but a winner. Crab cakes in a large portion, seafood on point. Didn't have dessert but it looked tempting! Will definitely be back.
First time there and it was good. Only gave it a 4 star cause the chicken was so salty and over cooked I could hardly eat it. Other than that it was good.
Visited a few days ago with my mom her food was burnt and my hamburger was burnt too our french fries were good though the food did however end up making me sick even though I did not complain about it at the time
It's not what it use to be, it was such a great restaurant when it opened. Food use to be spectacular, I don't know why they changed it was perfect
We visited on a Saturday afternoon in October around 1pm. Our waitress couldn't have been nicer, bringing us things we requested quickly and with a smile. This, even though there were five or six tables of customers and she was the only waitress. The restaurant had just recently reopened after being closed during COVID. The food arrived quickly and was as good, if not better than anything you could get in a metropolitan area like Dallas. And the prices were reasonable. The 5 piece chicken tender basket with Texas Toast and one side was $8. A combo meal at Whataburger can cost just as much. I would highly recommend the Heart of Texas Grill on the square in San Augustine.
