Heinsohn's Country Store reviews
10 Sadly, I can't give zero stars here as an option.
Bought a 300# mixer and two rounds of replacement parts from this company. Despite a stated policy of "full one year parts guarantee" the owner, Leslie, wouldn't honor it. Leslie told me I shouldn't be mixing sausage in it despite Heinsohn's website description "Great for mixing huge amounts of sausage meat. " Furthermore, 300# capacity is huge overstatement. Heinsohn's wouldn't honor the guarantee on the original $7k purchase nor the $1500 in parts.
This company sells junk equipment and the service to match. Run as far away from this business as you can.
Ordered a manual meat grinder which had 2 cutting plates and 3 sausage tubes. When it arrived there was only 1 cutting plate and no sausage tubes. When i asked about missing parts the lady said oh must have come out of the box. If its brand new how does something just come out of the box? No need to make excuses just send the right stuff. If i ordered something that cost 89.99 dont send something that cost 69.99.
This is actually one of the oldest county stores in Texas I believe. However, in a small town like this, and how remote it is it's nice to have a general store like this so you can get all your basic items that you need without having to drive so far to the next town. The staff here are polite, and they keep their store well stocked, and I will tell you for how old the building is they keep it as clean as they can keep it.
Had no problems with my stop at this store and found everything I was looking for with ease and with no problems.
If you need stainless cookware or anything to make sausage jerky etc. They got it. Along with a little bit of everything. My daughter found some bracelets and cards that she got. Cool store
It’s a good store. Good customer service. It has what you need if you are stopping in on a road trip. Some tools antique food etc.
***BUYER BEWARE***
Texastastes.com, the website used to sell high priced restaurant equipment from this store is operated by Leslie, the owner, who is a fraud, liar and con artist.
FRAUD = Leslie claims the $6000 - $12000 restaurant machines will not break down after purchase. Anyone who has owned/operated a restaurant knows how this to be completely false. To claim otherwise is fraud.
LIAR = Leslie claims he's never had machines break down before. Not true. Read other negative reviews of customers needing parts for their failed product and receiving poor, rude, unprofessional behavior from Leslie.
CON ARTIST = Cons you in to buying high dollar machines but has no real intention of professionally, adequately, supporting the product after the sale. Read other negative reviews.
The manufacturer where Leslie is buying these pricey machines will be contacted to advise how Leslie of texastastes.com conducts business with their product.
Old school customer service. Walking through the door is a step back in time to an old style general store.
The business owner was very rude to us when we asked about his town of Frelsburg, Tx. He was sarcastic when we asked about a few items for sale. We were traveling and thought we’d stop at his business to look around. His store was a collection of used clothes & costume jewelry, Knick-knacks, turtle traps, restaurant equipment and dust. He obviously didn’t want to make a sale.
This is a surprising country store, if you are in the area you simply must visit.they have loads of cooking utensils and supplies. If you fancy yourself I want to be chef do stop in for your supplies here. Not to mention farm supplies feed supplies and on and on.
Less than one star. The store itself is great. They have about anything you can think of but as one person posted earlier I dont appreciate being talked down to when in fact the gentleman was dead wrong in what he was trying to convey. He was trying to tell us a regular light bulb was all we needed for a lava lamp when in fact I have tinkered with lava lamps for many years and I know it takes a special bulb. He got his panties all in a wad when my wife explained to him that was not the case. When my wife and I entered the store the man acted as if we had done him a disservice by saying hello. I will never enter that place again. Go somewhere that appreciates your business cause this jerk sure dont
