Henry's Puffy Tacos reviews
18Horrible! The food was super salty and not great at all. But we still left a tip for services provided, however when we left there was an error on our cc statement of $200 and instead of trying to fix it the manager insisted there was no error. And there was no way possible to make such an error. I’m other words calling me a liar. So I asked him why he was so defensive when I was the one with error. He said it would sort itself out in 48 hours. My issue with this is how would it adjust itself if he couldn’t even see the issue on his end. For this he had no answer. Instead of trying to resolve the matter he called me a liar when I offered to drive over there and show the statement he refused. What a joke.
Wow, very disappointing. My BF felt sick after eating their food. Chips were not made in store, food was not authentic. We will not be back.
I have to give it a 2 because when we arrived to eat at the restaurant they only had one waiter and the wait was going to take longer than expected. We left and decided to go somewhere else.
Great Mexican food. I like the grilled white meat chicken with Mexican rice and beans. Oh they had a very nice creamy sauce for the chicken. And the great service.
Being new to SA, we're all hyped up to go here! Our wait was an hour. We sat near drunk, obnoxious people which made the experience even worse. Our waiter took forever to come give us our drinks and chips. Chips and salsa was delicious! Food took almost an hour, and we were still missing food. Food wasn't anything to write home about. Puffy Tacos were cold and too oily! Had much better Mexican food!
Waiter wasn't very pleasant, asked him for a few things and he had an attitude, beans and rice were not even warm, wasn't as good as I remember.
First time here, and it was Great. I had a bean, a chicken, and a picadillo puffy taco. These were Great, very tasty, meats were great, very filling. The waitstaff very friendly, and they were fast, I will definitely be back
A cool spot serving pretty good, but typical, Mexican bar food. The margaritas are good, puffy tacos pretty delicious, and environment is not unlike a Mexican version of Chile's. Their shredded chicken puffy taco was a little dry, but the rest are pretty great.
SMACKS! Love the tacos and burritos here. The verde salsa is the best! Along with the poblano sauce! Hostess are great! Megan is always helpful and quick about getting us seated. All of the employees make the place feel like a second home. You guys should make a burrito or food challenge!
Was hoping for something more then tex-mex and was pricy 13$ for two tacos and a skinny enchilada and nothing really stood out in the flavor department
Service was a little slow. I ordered the Sierra Nachos with fajita chicken. The chicken had a fatty taste and I paid extra for lettuce, tomatoes, guacamole, and sour cream. However, there wasn't a shred of lettuce to be found. Only finished about half because the taste was just not great.
The carne guisada plate was delicious with exception of rice
Normally the rice is great but it was mushy tonite. All in all though great place to eat. Waitress was excellent.
We arrived there to eat breakfast and ghe wait was going to take longer than expect because they had only one server for the day.
Everything was good i got street tacos they were alittle salty but overall delicious and our server was super nice and attentive. I will come back
This was one of those stops that was quoted as a "must" for visiting San Antonio. I have no idea why. The food was not good, the guacamole tasted like the Wholly Guacamole you got pre packaged at Walmart, it did not taste like fresh made guacamole, it had very little flavor. The cheese sauce tasted as if it came prepackaged as well, like melted velveeta cheese. The ground beef in the puffy tacos tasted like it was frozen and reheated several times, there was a chemical flavor to it, it did not taste like beef. Also, the chips were kind of stale and you could tell they weren't freshly made chips. If you are visiting San Antonio and want real Mexican food, I would avoid this place. I would give it less stars if possible.
Wow. Just did drive through. Great service and excellent puffy tacos, beans, and rice. Will be back! I haven’t been to a Henry’s in almost 20 years and they are still as delicious as I remember. 5 stars.
The food was good once we received our order.
Had received the wrong order first time around and had to go back to get correct order
