Henry's Puffy Tacos Express reviews
15I ordered a plate an enchilada plate with a puffy taco. The meat in the puffy taco was cold. Like it was jelly because it was cold. So every time I took a bite I was chewing meat jelly instead of picadillo. This is the second time I've tried it and I'm just not convinced.
I enjoy their puffy tacos. They are the best in San Antonio. The place is always clean. The only issue is the parking lot to limited.
It is fair. The puffy tacos are too oily. I couldn't eat the 1 with fajita meat, I gagged. I was able to eat the guacamole puffy taco BUT I soaked up as much oil as I could. The refried items were OK the rice was boring. The salsa was good I mean I'm not craving it I don't think I'll ever rush back there to get it.just when I thought it was too hot it was good so and the chips were meh.the cheese and bean burrito was probably my favorite thing it's very huge 3 people could eat off of it.the cheese was concentrated in one spot I don't like that.if I ever go there again I will probably have some vegetables in the burrito. But I wanted a bean burrito cause to me that's the true test it's just get a traditional idea of a burrito because the tortilla and the beans should be great in a Mexican restaurant. Also the chips and salsa are a good test even case ideas the deal is I kind of wish I'd try to enchiladas that's another good test you're not to get something something with everything I'd like to test Mexican restaurants with traditional original no dishes. Because if the basic stuff is amazing all the other stuff is just extra so the beans the chips the sauce of the tortillas the rice if all that is amazing it almost doesn't even matter what all the extra stuff is. I am not thinking I need to get back to Henry's Puffy Tacos. IF I return it will probably be out of convenience or a tourist wants to go. But I want to go to a place where tourists don't want to go. I don't hate it but again I haven't been had it on my mind until I saw this suggestion to write a review.
The puffy tacos are great. I liked the spicy beef and picadillo. My only improvement would be to turn up the flavor in the meat, especially the chicken. It gets lost in the corn flavor of the fried tortilla.
Beef fajitas were good, puffy tacos were good the chicken quesadillas the wifey and daughter had the 8 piece chicken quesadillas they were good as well. Beef fajitas for 2 puffy taco plate and 2 8 piece chicken quesadillas came out to $105.00 little pricey but food was good
Tacos were great! Never had a puffy taco before. Wife and I had a few different tacos and each one was fantastic! So full of flavor.
It was a 30 minute drive for us and we passed multiple taco places and would go back without question!
Quick service. Order at counter. Get your margarita and cold beers right away. Your food come out quick, fresh and hot. Complimentary chips and salsa.
We ordered the puffy tacos, both chicken and picadillo with guacamole. The tacos were well prepared and the portions were very generous!
We visited from Florida and were very happy with everything! Had to try the Puffy Tacos from Henrys (which came highly recommended) and they were excellent! Stuffed full with meat! Cheese! Lettuce! Tomatoes! Made fresh and very tasty! Order at counter and eat inside or take to go! We ate indoors! Very clean! Nice atmosphere! Great deal for your money! Huge portions! Great wait staff! Friendly and accommodating! A MUST if you visit the San Antonio area! You will be happy you did!
Read the reviews so had to try.the puffy tacos are pretty much deep fried flour tortillas.our tacos had alot of grease in the puffy shells.it was just worth a try.not my type
Not as good as the Bandera Road Henry's Puffy Tacos location. Did not notice if the prices were the same.
I thought this location had waiters and not a fast food type of restaurant.
At this location you order at the counter. You give your name, place your order, pay and then wait for your name to be called, to go pick the order.
You self serve your plastic utensils, napkins, drinks and nachos.
Next visit to Henry's Puffy Tacos will be to the Bandera Road location.
First time eating a puffy taco & Henry's sure didn't disappoint. The portions were large and very well priced. Their free chips & salsa were great to have while waiting on the food. They have a newer fancier restaurant but the original was the best way to experience having a puffy taco.
OMG PUTS NATALIA TO SHAME EXPENSIVE BUT WORTH IT. PUFFY TACOS WITH EVERYTHING ON THEM THREE I ATE. THEY ARE HUGE. IM SMALL. FOR TWO WE SPENT $58. + BOTH HAD THE SAME THING. LOL GREAT!
I went mainly for chips n queso and a Piccadillo plate. I was the only person in the drive thru. I waited for nearly 30 minutes until I was given my plate. They forgot my chips and queso and so I waited another 5 minutes only to be told they ran out of queso. At that point I was just in disbelief that I asked for a full refund on the order. During the nearly 30 minutes I watched through the window as they all were just talking.
One of San Antonio's Landmark Eatery's. Great food, reasonable price, and quick service for lunchtime. The Chicken Puffy Tacos are some of the Best! Hot Sauce is flavorful with just enough heat for the timid.
