Hico Nursing And Rehabilitation

I am very pleased with the patience they have shown to my nephew who has been there 3 years now. He’s quite challenging with his many illnesses.

A wonderful place with great private rooms and compassionate nurses! The rehab is exceptional and everyone is really caring.

I cant understand how a nursing home thats job is to care for the residents there, doesn't care enough to make the disabled patient happy by not continuously deflecting them to talk to their loved ones.

I witnessed first hand how horrible the residents are treated over a number of years. The medical staff (women) are always on their phones; ignoring patients who are in need of being cleaned or at risk of falling. The cleaning staff do a deplorable job and the kitchen staff are semi decent. The kitchen personnel have gotten slightly better since 2010. Laundry workers get the short end of the stick a lot of times, but they notice more than most other employees. The head of housekeeping is a snake. The business employees are completely lacking in proper business etiquette. I would not take a pet rock here to be cared for! Please take your loved ones elsewhere!

Can't get intouch with our family member. Communication is almost impossible. If they do answer the phone some of the staff are very unprofessional.

Best place my husband has ever been in which consists of 3 different nursing homes over the past 5 years. Has been in Hico for over 3 years now. There is a lot of turnover of cna's but that has been everywhere. The kitchen fixes different meals for him a lot because he is picky. No physical accidents there which sadly was common in previous places. The activities coordinator is totally awesome. I don't know how she does it. Has activities all day for them to participate in if they want. Even has senior Olympics against other nursing homes. Several parties every month. Lots of caring people there who are very kind. The current administrator is always on hand.
