I have stayed here twice in the last two years. Excellent location along the water. Great restaurants nearby within walking distance. Super friendly staff. Ongoing construction on hotel does not affect quality of stay and will be done later this year anyway.

Great location, great staff but if your there for business or need internet for any reason then it's free but add a day because it is as slow as they can possibly make it. Regular high speed is there and available but It will cost you an extra $10 for the speed you and everyone is used to these days. These people are actually slow it down intentionally to collect an extra $10 per room.

When planning my recent trip with my young granddaughters to Galveston, I looked at many accommodation options there. I’ve been going to Galveston for 60 years, but most of my trips have been day trips because I live in Houston. Occasionally I have overnights with family and friends. This time, with my granddaughters, I especially wanted a place where we stayed to be nice. I read some good reviews of some places, but along with those good reviews, they were always the naysayers and negative reviewers you talked about everything from noisy air conditioning and dead bugs on the floors to awful smells and bedbugs. I was at a loss about what to do. Finally, I decided to go with my Hilton Honors Points and reserve a room at the Hilton Galveston Island Resort. That turned out to be one of the best travel decisions I’ve made. The staff at the resort was incredible, from my first interaction at the front desk to my last interactions with Dylan at the front desk and Tommy at the valet desk. Through no fault of the hotel, we did have a little bit of a wait, because the computer system went down, leaving the front desk clerks with only one working computer. However, Elizabeth and the other desk clerk (I wish I could remember his name — he was a great help with our pool wristbands, too) were so patient, friendly, positive, and kind. Sparkle was another front desk clerk who was helpful the next day. I’ve stayed at a lot of hotels in my lifetime, and I truly don’t think any hote associates have been as great as they were. Add to that the great pool, the dreamiest and most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in (my granddaughters agreed), reasonable valet parking, and air conditioning that was actually strong enough for our South Texas heat. All of these helped make this trip to Galveston was one of the best I’ve ever had — and, as I said before, I’ve made a LOT of trips to The Island. (by the way, excuse the messes in the photos — I forgot to take pictures before we made ourselves comfortable. And the mirror above that desk was awesome — lighted like a big make-up mirror — with a regular make-up mirror on the desk! Awesome!)

Renovations brought this place out of the 80’s! We stay a lot throughout the year and were thrilled when we walked into the renovated room, and even happy to see the 80’s bathtub gone. We will be back in a few weeks!

The pool was good, but that was it. I think that they're struggling. My phone didn't work, internet didn't work very often and then wouldn't let me connect to the upgraded when I tried. Only one microwave for popcorn. No carts for luggage unless it comes with the bellhop. I said I didn't need a bellhop I don't want a bellhop. They said you have to have a bellhop I'll come to your room. I said okay. Bellhop then harasses me to tip him. I'm sorry dude. It's not you but I can't be forced into this kind of stuff. This was a cheap motel experience with a bit of harassment. Now I'm going to spend a quarter of the price for the rest of our duration. Yuk.

I can't believe a Hilton hotel made me think higher of Econo Lodge. The room was massively over priced. No microwave in the room but, it did have a fridge. How do I reheat the food I took back from the restraunt? The beds were doubles vs. Queens. There was no breakfast included yet I've had breakfast at hotels that cost 1/8th of what this one did. Hotel was loud and under construction. Not enough parking for self parking. Sign said $15 but the desk lady told me it's $16 a night. The only 2 things I can say positive are even though a double is too small it was a comfortable bed and the pool was cool-ish but, hated the bar side of the same pool not allowing me to take my grandkido to get a drink. My husband and I had to take turns. Asked for additional towels and they never arrived even after being told no problem. Also, they really should have a warning when large groups of kids with group bookings are at hotels so we are not forced to be around bratty behaved kids and snobby parents and can book elsewhere. They had a dance competition in town and it was awful seeing the behavior of the kids and especially the awful behaved parents/maybe coaches! Either way the adults present. I feel like my entire vacation was just a waste.

I've stayed here for business but this was my first pleasure trip. I booked based on the reviews and didn't realize this was the same hotel we've stayed in for conferences. We arrived from the waterpark around check-in time and was greeted by Dylan and Peggy who were absolutely amazing! My family loved the macarons, cookies, and lemonade!

Our room was one of the newer ones and was designed very nicely (the hallway colors were beautiful as well). The room size was perfect and I think we had one of the best views. We were able to see the fireworks from the balcony and watched the volcano fire all night!

Since this was a holiday weekend there was a lot of activity in the pool. Although we travel with a toddler we enjoy fun and watching others have fun, my only regret was not asking for a room closer to the pool and live action (we were still able to people watch). We did visit the pool area and the hotel had inflatables and the water temp was perfect (I hate cold pools). Music was great and the staff made sure to pick up the trash the guests left behind.

I read the reviews about the construction and heard a faint bit when we first went into the room, but it wasn't enough to be bothered by it and we either adapted or it stopped around 5p-ish. We also had the fire blinking light when we turned the tv off but either it stopped or I fell asleep on it. Neither of these issues interrupted our stay. Based on the reviews I didn't expect our room to be cleaned but it was and the bed was made when we got back from our outing.

Out of 5 trips this year, this was the best hotel stay in a long time. We like to visit new places for vacations but this will probably be our stickler for July 4th.

Had a great experience with them! Will definitely return. Everyone was so friendly and kind. The pool was a huge plus! Also very convenient distance to wherever you want to go.

We stayed here for 5 days. We ordered room service once and it only took about 30 minutes. The pool was clean and a great temperature. The hot tub was great at night as well. We never had any issues with anything.
The room we stayed in was renovated and nice. They are renovating the first floor to look like the rest. I personally didn’t have any noise issues. Definitely would come back.

Bad service I arrived and the room was not ready, they said that Ivan would clean it and it took them 2 hours to prepare the room. I also asked for a room with 2 double beds and they gave me 2 small beds, there is no breakfast and the food is not very good, there is not enough parking also wanted to charge us $40 dollars for baletparquin

We were about to make our reservation and after reading the recent reviews of the renovation and noise and nothing working we decided not to take the risk. So thank you for all the reviews. A vacation for a lot of people is few and far in between. With the economy everything is so overpriced and not usually worth the money. So it's worth reading the reviews

After being assigned to a room with a lot of construction noise. Joshua (Josh) was everything a supervisor should be. He moved us to a quieter room and was very professional and kind. We appreciate Josh for making our short vacation time very enjoyable.

It is not worth the $500 per night. Hotel is going renovations and there’s a lot of construction going on. My room was not available for early check in like I was promised. I had 2 dogs with me and they couldn’t be in common areas like the pool. Could only be on the lobby and had to be kept in the room. You also couldn’t leave them alone in the room. There was no room cleaning for the 2 nights we were there. There was only one small restaurant in the hotel. To be considered a 4 star hotel I was expecting more of a variety and at least 2 restaurants to choose from. The only nice thing was the pool and how close we were to the beach.
