Hobbit Cafe reviews
19The waitstaff were informative and entertaining, the food was great (I had fish tacos), and the mead was delicious. The restaurants LOTR decor has a kind of hectic vibe to it, feeling a little bit cheap, but not really in a particularly bad way. The themes are fun without being too much; it was a hit with a friend who is a LOTR fan. They also have a lot of great vegetarian options.
Went there on Halloween. Good food. Good service. Good atmosphere. Good times
Will definitely go back
Don't come here for brunch if you have a party of eight or more. Management has a bizarre policy that requires everyone in the party to spend at least $30 per head. The food is pretty affordable, so it means that everyone has to order *a lot* of food. If you don't order 2.5 meals-worth of food, the restaurant just rounds your bill up to $30 anyway. Gratuity doesn't count towards the total either.
If this sounds as silly to you as it sounded to me, I suggest that you and your large party either pass on this restaurant, or at least come back on days when they aren't serving brunch.
The server that explained the policy to us was nice, at least
The Hobbit Cafe fell off my rotation of great places to eat a few years ago, for some unknown reason. I used to go here weekly. Tonight I went back and it is just as good as I remember. The smoothies are great - try the mango. Quesadillas and the Jamaican jerk chicken salad are my absolute favorites. The Gandalf sandwich is another favorite along with the vegetarian fajitas (mushroom). The staff is friendly and so helpful. If you’re a beer drinker the selection is pretty extensive.
Delicious, a different menu with a lot of good food.everyone in your party will find exactly what they want.
First time there. I loved it. Had the Smoked Turkey Benedict. Food so tender you coulf cut with a fork.
A quirky, legendary Houston spot. It's good for carnivores & vegetarians alike. I've been a fan since college in the 90s.
I didn’t take a pic of the food but it was soooo good.i love the amount of vegetarian options they have.i’m not a big beer/mead person but i really liked the city orchid lavender drink.the staff we’re super nice and helpful, gave good recommendations.place was cute.def going to come here everytime i come houston?
Delicious food and a very large selection of drinks. Their meads are strong and delicious as well. The only reason I'm giving it one less star is because the service was a bit slow as I think they were short on people that night. Overall a great place to visit of you like Lord of the rings!
Despite 70s nostalgia, a good place for a meal, and a long chat with a friend. Good solid healthy food, at relatively good value, service was excellent and the outdoor seating area very adequate. A bit hard to find the first time, but excellent signage. Outdoors had a decent sound level. Still using disposables especially for takeout.
Magical if you love both the hobbit / LOTR (Lord of the Rings) with a mix of great drinks and delicious food the Hobbit is a trip to the Shire and 3rd Earth itself it’s like a food portal that transports you! Did I mention you can merchandise for all my collectors, weebs and cosplayers take home your precious ring tonight!
Hadn't been here in quite a while - food is still good and portions are large. And of course the funky is always entertaining.
It's one thing to have a Hobbit themed restaurant, but the fact that the food is SO GOOD and the beer list is SO BIG. I will eat here as long as I live
spinach mushroom quesadillas are sneaky good
Also, everything on the menu has a hobbit name:)
The name is misleading. There are NO HOBBITS HERE! Other than that, the food is pretty awesome.
I had a great meal here. The prices may seem pricey, but you can tell they use quality fresh ingredients with generous portions.
The food tasted great. The atmosphere was fantastic. And the staff was friendly, helpful, and accommodating.
I'll deffinetly be back.
Yuck, yuck and yuck. Sangria was the worst. The food was bland and not appetizing. Waitress acted like she didn't want to be there. Even worth most of my food (fish tacos) left on the plate she didn't ask if everything was ok. Would not recommend, just a gimmick place.
This is a fantastic little Cafe for those who are Lord of the Rings fans and even those who aren't. Great smoked salmon eggs Benedict and bacon burgers. Really cosy environment with lots of memorabilia and very friendly service.
The food was tasty and the atmosphere was food. The parking is something that could be approved but not terrible.
Extensive menu with lots of potential. Unfortunately the service nor the food shined as much as desired. I had the avocado omelette with fried pickles and a bloody mary (the best part).
