Hoegemeyer's Barbeque Barn reviews
17Found Hoegemeyer’s on Google as we were looking for a late lunch. Arrived around 2pm on a Monday. Was quickly greeted at the door, ordered the Po Boy plate, 1/2lb brisket, and hamburgers for the kids. All was very tasty and the peach cobbler was delish! Staff was super friendly and some great conversation even as they were closing. Just travelling through, but hope to be back again soon.
Great place. Good parking space. Vantage Texan building in and out.
Owner and Staff very friendly.
Coleslaw and peach Cobbler were perfect. Great Texas Tater Salad.
Beef ribs tasty and big. Enough portions to get out of there in wheelchair. But a little burnt in top layer. This is a must stop place if you visit Corpus Christi
Had 2 meat plate with sliced brisket (marble) and baby back ribs, with baked tater salad and green beans as sides. The ribs were smoky and the brisket was very tender, and both meat were very tasty and flavorful. Loved the sides too especially the baked tater salad. There was also peach cobbler included in the meal, which was a good treat. Welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff. Also visited for a second time as we were leaving town and got another meal to go, since we loved this place so much.
Definitely the best I've found in Corpus Christi, will definitely be going back to try everything. The only complaint I have is I ordered the lean Chopped brisket sandwich and the kitchen eas in a hurry and just threw a bunch of huge chunks on the bread.
We had a wonderful lunch here! The food and atmosphere are great and they were all so nice and friendly! The prices were reasonable and it was located close to the beach. Great for the whole family! They are only open from 11-3 on weekdays so keep that in mind when planning a visit!
I went for a second try today, disappointed, not good. The beef rib was undercooked and tough. I returned it and got brisket. The brisket was undercooked, no bark, and mostly pale fat. I won't go back.
Great spot
Open just lunch hours. Beef ribs & sausage were really great. Wife got Tri tip and my son got the pork ribs & both really liked them. Sauce was good & not too much vinegar.
Great atmosphere & nice people.
Food was just fair, nothing special. Very chincy with the sides. The cobler was awesome though. Owner was very friendly and nice.
There food is not good I can go to bbq man taste way better and I just moved here. Do t go waste of money. The customer service isn't good the lady and man was making front of customer while I was waiting. The worst ever.
This was absolutely the best Barbecue I’ve had in my life! Customer service was also really good. One of the guys’ working helped give us some suggestions which led to a better experience. We don’t have all that much barbecue options where I am from so it was nice to try something different. The food was so good. I wish I would have come here the first day in town I would have come for lunch every day. Value seemed decent for the quantity of food too!
Ok so choosing a bbq spot in corpus is tough. Its always been between hoegemeyers and salty oak. The price and portion at this location is great. I love brisket as any the next. Normally im pretty happy about this place the customer service is amazing and the owner is very friendly to bring back customers just for the nostalgic vibe. The meat was a little dry this time around and i needed alot of bbq sauce. The one they offered just wasnt enough. It definitely packs a sweet flavor and thats what carried it home. Also the peach cobbler if u have never tried any this would be the spot.
I have traveled extensively over the US, and much if it in southern CA where "tri tip" was invented. I have to say, of the hundreds of BBQ places I have eaten at, this place is hands down the best pulled pork.ever. And the sliced brisket is definitely a top 3. The sides are.eh. But who cares. I'm filling up on meat!
Tried them for the first time today. The beef ribs were chewy and tough. Atleast the flavor was good. The interior decor and style was fun/cool. This is on my way back from Portland. I need some reassurance that the ribs are normally good if im to go back.
It was absolutely the BEST sliced brisket sandwich I've ever had. Gubernatorial candidate LTC Allen West is coming to Corpus next week and I suggested he go there! He won't be disappointed. Thanks Michelle for the great food and service!
As soon as I walked In I was rushed I told them it was my first time and that didn’t seem to matter and I was the only one in line. I ordered my meal and when I got it I was disappointed on portions for the price It looked like I was served a kids meal. The ribs were really tough. It one spoon of peach cobbler. If you don’t like your food seasoned this the place for you.
Very good! Worth a stop. The decor is very rustic and the building IS old. That's part of the charm. The food is extremely good and everyone was very nice. I had the BBQ poboy with a mixture of meat and the baked potato salad along with black eye peas. Another point is they have Coke Zero!
I went with my family and it was horrible i ate there sammich with chopped brisket and i got food poisoned i threw up 4+ times during the day and it was because of the brisket
